Tropical Smoothie Cafe

Arrived here around noon to grab some takeout before an event. Was at register for 10 minutes. Multiple of the employees made eye contact with us. Not one person said anything to us. My friend said, “excuse me.” One employee made eye contact, headed our way and then did an abrupt turn and went somewhere else. We left. I can understand if you are busy (they had four orders on screen and 3 employees), but not acknowledging us was incredibly rude.

My smoothies were delicious. I was able to get in and get out. Not very busy. Place is kinds of hard to get to.

Phenomenal customer service.

The food and smoothies are a bit overpriced, but in this economy, everything is expensive…even a $10-$12 smoothie! 😂

I placed an order with a gentleman who had a face mask on him, so I barely hurt him, but I placed an order for “ Bahama, mama”. It turned out they have two different items in their menu. There are called in the same way, the first one is Bahama mama smoothie and the second one is Bahama mama bowl, I wanted a bowl, they got me a smoothie, when I came back to the register and ask the same gentleman to get me a bowl instead of a smoothie, he gave me a lecture on what I did wrong and said :” it is very important for you to say Bahama bowl, since otherwise I have two guess what you want?”
And I paid for it, of course, and I said I don’t mind paying for a smoothie as well, I like your smoothies, but he was extremely rude, and I’m professional lecturing me on the right way to place an order

Amazing service from Diana and Marylu every time I come here for lunch. They are two very sweet and welcoming ladies who are always so quick and everything they make it delicious! I love getting smoothies, some of my recommendations would be Avocalada, Chia Banana Boost, and Pomegranate Plunge. Another nice thing is that a side of fruit, salad, or chips is included with your order (double-check with them, some conditions apply) 😊

I had neglected ordering from this place for several months and I wish I hadn't. I love their smoothies, plus I can add energy and protein to them - and heck, they taste way better than any Starbucks drink.

The first time I ordered, I got the Chicken Bacon Ranch, no tomatoes and added roasted red peppers. I got a banana as a side and the Beach Bum smoothie + energizer + Fat Burner.

And it was delivered quite quickly I might add.

Though, what I might add is that the food is incredibly fresh. A lot of places make smoothies. And while those other places do a somewhat decent job (I point to you bread/sandwich places); they're not the same. Tropical Smoothie makes smoothies. And they make them freakishly well...and tasty...and nutritious. It's become my go to place.

Vegetarian options: I'm not vegetarian, but there are options on the menu if that's what you like.

Parking: there's a parking lot.

Wheelchair accessibility: there are handicap spaces out front

Young kids they have running the store have a bad attitude. Seems like they don’t wanna be here at 8 o’clock in the morning. It’s not like they’reknocking the doors down to get into tropical smoothie so the owner better wake up and get some good help or they will be out of business shortly

Marylu and Diana are the dream team!! The Buffalo Grove location is by far my favorite because of their positive energy and wonderful smiles! They are so patient and I can't tell enough people about the All American wrap!
