Tropical Smoothie Cafe

I stopped into Tropical Smoothie this afternoon for a little treat and was absolutely delighted by the two young ladies working, Michelle and Lizbeth. They were just the sweetest girls — so polite, so friendly, and they both had the kind of smiles that instantly brighten your day.

I ordered the Bahama Mama (first time trying it!) and let me tell you, I could taste the love in every sip. It was blended perfectly — not too icy, not too watery, just smooth and refreshing. Michelle made sure everything was just right, and Lizbeth chatted with me so kindly while I waited, like I was an old friend.

These girls really went above and beyond. In a world where good customer service feels rare, they reminded me of the way things used to be — genuine, warm, and thoughtful. Tropical Smoothie should be very proud to have them.

I’m leaving a good review because the manager Marilou went above and beyond to correct an error in my order through the website. She made me a whole new order and was so kind!

I ordered from the buffalo grove location, and there phone number doesn’t work. I ordered a AÇAÍ bowl and it came with nutella on it (i’m allergic) and it wasn’t even an AÇAÍ bowl it was some dragon fruit thing. In the app there was NO WAY to contact them, even when hitting the “contact us” button it brought me to there website and no way to contact them. I couldn’t call them and even tried another location with no help. $18 down the drain and lost a loyal customer because usually i’m really happy with this place but this was beyond frustrating and the fact I have no way to contact them nor get my money back is awful service.

Their English language skills are minimal. They don’t know the answer to specific questions. They seemed irritated by questions regarding the menu.

This is by far the best tropical smoothie cafe I have ever had. I’ve stopped at multiple locations, the food and customer service are top notch at this location. I will actually drive 30 minutes out of my way to see the staff here. They are incredibly friendly, they do a great job preparing food and smoothies, and they always have a smile on their faces. I come here at least 4 times a week, and the overall experience is incredible.

Food is good and fast, but the staff is unaware of their customers. That is, they have incredibly loud conversations and jovial shouting matches that are just distracting and not conducive to relaxing with your meal or smoothie.

Arrived here around noon to grab some takeout before an event. Was at register for 10 minutes. Multiple of the employees made eye contact with us. Not one person said anything to us. My friend said, “excuse me.” One employee made eye contact, headed our way and then did an abrupt turn and went somewhere else. We left. I can understand if you are busy (they had four orders on screen and 3 employees), but not acknowledging us was incredibly rude.

Phenomenal customer service.

The food and smoothies are a bit overpriced, but in this economy, everything is expensive…even a $10-$12 smoothie! 😂
