Came here with my husband because he said they had great sushi for the suburbs. Immediately upon walking in we were told we had to sit at the bar because they had an 80 person private event- OK. Not being bar people, the neon blue strip lighting and bar music were off putting but continued on. Asked for still water, bartender didn't know what that was- OK Described still water to a bartender, she handed us 2 bottles of Dasani water- OK... Wanted to order a Sapporo- they're out of draft AND don't offer standard size bottles. Only option is a 22oz Sapporo. Whatever at this point, ordered that. Bartender takes our order and my husband wants the all you can eat sushi menu they are known for. I don't eat that much and usually order 2 rolls when we have sushi. We were told we both have to do or we can't have it at all. At this point, we walked out. I have never been so poorly accommodated anywhere to this degree. Obviously they're an event space that has a sushi chef. I'm sure they do well for mitzvahs but don't allow the public to make dinner reservations and not offer a restaurant experience. It was so bad it was laughable.
Hidden in the golf course , but obvious. Sushi was fresh and service was great. Inkind app popped it up so we thought we would give it a try . So we did and loved it . Yes they accept Inkind ( there is some other review that is doesn't ??)
Great food. Amazing service. Excellent views. We love coming to Otaru. Sushi is delicious.
From start to finish, bad. Order drinks, only to find out 20 minutes later that there was no bartender. Apps came out after 40 minutes. Finally get drinks 50 minutes after we sat down. Order sushi, 20 minutes later, waiter asked what we ordered, lol. Sushi was sub par. Get check, additional drinks we didn't order on bill. All in dinner was almost 2 hours for 2 apps, 2 drinks, and 2 rolls. Will never go back.
We chose Otaru Sushi because we had an InKind promotion for $20 off but they refused to accept it. If one chooses "all you can eat" every one must also. Terrible policy! Will not return and Sushi was average.
They now offer “all you can eat sushi” Great value. I am glad that the owner, waiter, & hostess came by the table to encourage us to scale back our first order because they thought it would be too much food. We would have paid an up charge for the left overs. Sushi quality was excellent. Definitely a great place to go. Definitely will be back.
Went on first night of all you can eat sushi. Sat outside on golf course. Food was very good. Service outstanding! Will be back and bring friends/family.
Went to Otaru last weekend with a friend. We both had their flavorful miso soup, sushi rolls and mochi for dessert. Everything was great, loved that the rolls had thin layer of rice, and the mochi was some of the best I have had in a while! Do check it out.
The price on the menu was not the price on the bill. 😕

Sushi was just OK, almost all of the special maki were spicy or breaded. Not a lot of gluten free items and full ingredients are not listed on the menu so order with care of you have allergies. Our server was the only server for the entire dining room. It took an extremely long time to get items but she was doing the best she could. Many people were unhappy with the service and food orders were wrong.

We went here for a company outing and played their indoor golf. Had a great time, even though Many had never played golf before. The buffet was good, only slightly disappointed at the plasticware, considering the price. Still, bar service was attentive as was the assistance we needed during the golf game. Nicely done!

For a sports bar/golf club setting, I was not expecting good sushi — this was GREAT sushi. Highly recommend the Spicy tuna tartare as an appetizer. It was well balanced in every way. My girlfriend and I had the lakeshore drive and carnival specialty rolls, along with the spicy tuna and yellowtail. All pieces were well balanced in terms of ration of toppings and rice, and the rice melted in our mouths — just really stand out sushi! This is our second time back and we will certainly be back again.
Every time we've gone for lunch or dinner the food has been great. The service has been quick and pleasant.
Most of the food was good, except the Korean BBQ short rib sliders. There was not much meat on the 2 slider sandwiches and the meat was tough and chewy. Ordered a Caesar salad and it came with the entrees, not before the meals. Service was somewhat indifferent, particularly since the restaurant was not busy.
Always a good experience ..solid menu and always great service!
