I have no idea what the hours are. Or even if it's still open anymore. It might be closed permanently. I know it wasn't open during the summer.Checked Facebook and Instagram. The most recent update was 2020, so likely closed. That's too bad; I used to really like going there.
The coffee and food itself are great, however the customer service is poor. I let the attitude of the elder lady go the first time assuming she had had a bad day. The second time I just assumed it was a coincidence. The third fourth and fifth I knew it was just how she is. Today 4/17/23 I ordered a pancake sausage sandwich and a medium butter pecan latte. When I received my sandwich, I was informed that it was a croissant sausage. That's no big deal, it's a delicious sandwich. My issue arises when the elder lady became rude and defensive, "I NEVER heard pancake in that conversation." I would normally not write a review, but her attitude is just grotesque. Had she approached me with kindness and said she misunderstood or misheard me I would have been fine, and this review would not exist. It is the continuous poor etiquette that rubs me the wrong way.

Better priced than Starbucks---and in my honest opinion, better tasting!
Much better than Starbucks. I'm hooked..lol
Love Delytes. Great food and amazing customer service. Clean environment. Quick even on their busiest days :)

I love this coffee shop. It is in SIU's Morris Library and has hours specific to when the library is open. It is usually closed when the students are off for breaks, too. They have a punch card, so the more drinks you buy, you get one free eventually. The coffee is good, staff is very friendly and they will do special requests. Sometimes you get $1 coffee in late afternoon, which is awesome.
I worked there for several years, retired now. Building Services. Trying to keep it open during the renovation was a challenge...Floods almost every night...There was snakes in the basement!...Seriously because I caught one...Possums too...Went there recently to visit...I couldn't believe what a super job they did...
the large comfy chairs kind of enfolded me!! Peaceful here! Great memories!!

In the '70s it became to me my main, peaceful place to read, absorb and contemplate (meditate). One Sunday, I believe, I fell asleep while reading in one of those large stuffed chairs. When I awoke, it was dark outside, also in the Library. I felt alone. I called out and nobody replied. All exterior doors were locked. I went to the Main Check Out Desk and called Campus Police to please let me out.
it brought back old. memories
It's clean. Good signage, employees are very helpful and friendly
The makeover made it an attractive space but that is nothing compared to it's former beauty which consisted of a basement and seven floors of Open Stack Library. No amount of computers and coffee shops can compare to a real Library the "geography" of which was layer upon layer, aisle after aisle of books.
Came to Library on 4-25-17 looking for the Lawrence Brewster diarys of WW1and WW2. Brewster and dad were on the same boat SC504 in the Solomons . Took alot of photo's to read. Great experience, people were a great help.
