The best food in Carbondale hands down. Absolutely amazing value for what you get. Locally sourced, hand prepared food. Unique recipes like no where i have eaten.

Food was delicious and well prepared. Feels like upscale pub food. Very tasty with generous portions, but not overkill. Server was very friendly and the atmosphere is very nice with soft jazz or horn music in the background. A great dinner spot for a medium prices night out to eat for American food.

We were refused service. We were advised that we could not be seated because we were a party of 6 and that we needed a reservation. The last time we came we had a party of 6 with no reservation. When questioned about it, hostess had nothing to say!! Very disappointed and will never recommend nor return.

Out of towner came to a great place for some amazing food, service and ambiance. Great local spot for food and adult beverages if that's what your into. Even with a hustle and bustle going the servers were still able to take care of us in a very timely manner and food came out with great presentation and still hot!!! Kudos to Underground Public house!!!

We tried this place tonight. We had a group of 7 and when we got there the hostess told us she could not seat a group of 7. We told her we were willing to split up as there were several tables open (even tables big enough to accommodate our 7). She then said she couldn’t seat us until 8 pm. We asked if they were reservation based, and she said no- but the fill up fast. We asked if we could sit at the bar, and again we were denied service.

Don’t waste your time trying this place. Clearly their empty restaurant was too good for us.

Went for first time and they did not disappoint!! Everything our table ordered was very delicious. The Scottish Eggs were so good. If you haven't been there it's definitely a must.

Walked in right when they opened. Was asked if we had a reservation and we replied no. So, they said they couldn't seat us. We asked if we could just have one round of drinks and leave. And they again said no. All but 2 bar seats were available. And only one table had people seated. We would have been in and out in 15 minutes

Best food in the area, and it isn’t really close. Ate there numerous times while living in Carbondale and always had a great meal.

Amazing space to dine. Very fine. Best of the best in Carbondale. Best beer selection and best food in southern Illinois. Southern Illinois and the Midwest region of the country is lucky to have such a talented owner/chef and staff at their doorstep.
