“Three of us stopped by and greatly enjoyed ourselves. Where else can you find a distillery tasting and professional photography experience in one?!? We loved our group photo. The spirits were very interesting and used local ingredients. I appreciated learning about the history of whiskey making. Absolutely recommend a stop.“

“Stopped here while staying overnight in Carbondale. Loved the setting & friendly staff. Did a wine tasting & decided we loved Don’s Estate Dry White Vignoles. Took a bottle with us & enjoyed later on the patio at the Home2 Suites in Springfield. Wish you weren’t so far from our home in Des Moines Iowa.“

Feather Hills Vineyard and Winery Winery • $$

“A great stop on the Shawnee Wine Trail! Great people! Great flavors! Great value!

My wife and I live in the area and we’ve visited several other places on the wine trail. So, we were expecting another nice winery to hang out, have some wine, and some food. But we were pleasantly surprised by Feather Hills. It was nice without being pretentious.

Our server behind the bar was incredibly friendly and helpful. We tried the sweet wine flight. Great price. If you’re sharing with another, this is a few sips to get a taste, but the price is just perfect to help you find something for a glass(which they DON’T charge a stupid glass deposit!) After that my wife found a favorite and had two glasses(again a great price). I had a couple beers(good craft choices).

We ordered a couple appetizers-the loaded tots and the Brussel sprouts. When they came out they were nice size portions to share. And they were tasty. You can’t screw up tots, but they were tasty! And the Brussels, get them with the bacon and goat cheese. Yummm!!!

There was a band and we sat outside. Can’t beat that - wine, food, and atmosphere.

For 4 drinks, 2 big appetizers, and the flight, it was $57. That’s pretty good when put up against other wineries. (Pssst…Feather Hills, don’t change! 😂)“

“Dining at Walkers Bluff Tasting Room was a pleasure. The steak was cooked exactly to my liking and the side of potatoes was satisfying. My daughter's chicken Alfredo pizza was a hit. The quality of the meal warrants high praise. Additionally, the cave tour was fascinating.“
