Loved everything we had. Fast service and friendly.
We had:
Futo Maki, Spicy Ebi Kani, Dragon Roll, Angry Bird Roll, Gyoza, and miso soup. It was all delicious. We will definitely be back.

Each trip to Carbondale includes 1 stop at Yamato. One of the finest places on the planet to have sushi and sashimi. I look forward to my next visit ☺️.

We’ve been to Yamato a few times. It’s a small family-run place, and the staff are always friendly. They’ve got some vegetarian and vegan options - sushi rolls, soups, tofu dishes, and more. The inside is really nice, even though you might not guess that from the outside. The food’s always been delicious. I’d definitely recommend it in general and if you’re vegetarian.

The only reason you didnt get 5/5 on the food was the shrimp in the shrimp ramen. The shrimp were unseasoned and just cooked in the broth. That drives zero flavor into the shrimp. Season the shrimp and give them a hard sear before adding them to the broth.
However the ramen broth was great! As was the sushi, hibachi, and hot sake. Will be coming back.

I love Yamato. The staff are hardworking and kind, the food is tasty, and their delivery (when ordering directly from their website) is incredibly fast. I'd definitely recommend going in person for the sushi experience, they do very cool plating, which doesn't always hold up for delivery/pick up packaging.

I used to love ordering Yamato. But i’ve seen a decline in quality after new ownership. I hope they take some advice from the previous owners. Otherwise I don’t think i’ll be a regular customer.

I went during the lunch time and ordered the beef fried rice and added lo mein noodles instead of veggies. I was $1 short and I tried to tell her to just remove an item and she said that it was okay. I thought that was very sweet, I just did not want to run back to the car for $1. I really appreciated that. Food was amazing, I will return soon.
