The Swiss mushroom burger was delicious and fried mushrooms were very good and the service was great and they were very friendly delicious. Definitely will have to go back again soon and eat and try something else

Meal was meh. Tenderloin was dry and fries were undercooked. Service and overall feel of the place was good. Just wish I would've got something else.

The restaurant is very clean and the food is excellent. In my opinion, it is expensive. My Reuben and chips cost $13. All the sides are priced separately. In their defense, my husband's burger was the "junior" portion.

Great little bar and grill. Hot tasty food. Great service. Cash pr check only. Great deep fried mushrooms. Highly recommend if you are in Carlyle Illinois.

This was a horrible experience! Walked in was asked how many, and they would not accommodate 6. Was told to "sit wherever you can squuze in". A patron dining by himself offered to move to the next table so we could put two tables together. Rude lady said "we don't move tables!" Out the door we went. Thought we would enjoy some small town hospitality and some good food. Definitely not here! My advice: pass on this one!

We were passing through town and happened to see a great picture on the website of fish & fries we decided to drop in. The service was great & very friendly! Bathroom was clean & decorated in a very unique & cute way! We're planning on visiting Carlyle this Summer & now we know where to go for great food & friendly service! Thank you very much!

Went to eat there last night. Got there before 7, as soon as we opened the door we were told, "we are closed . Very rude, snooty attitude.As for being told to look at the sign on the door, stating you close at 7, why not invest in a white board or put your piece of construction paper at or close to eye level, not close to the bottom of the door. My main issue was how rude this lady was

Just had lunch here for the first time and everything was excellent! The cheeseburger and fries were really good and the service was also excellent. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area. If you're on the Southern Illinois Coffee Trail, this restaurant is just down the street from the Oh So Sweet Bakery & Cafe in Carlyle. It seems to be a cash/check only restaurant which didn't bother us as we know credit card fees for small businesses are going up.
