The food was authentic and delicious. Unfortunately someone drove through the front of the restaurant recently and it is only offering carryout for now.

First time to visit this place and it was highly recommended from a friend. The place was under construction from the recent accident but they still serve food to go and the pork bbq was really tasty with java rice and decent size, pork liempo was also good and crispy sisig was good as well! Service was really fast inspite it was only to go and also tried the halo- halo and it wasn’t so bad. If we were close to this restaurant, I would go there and will be my favorite place.

Carry-out only for now due to construction! Homestyle Filipino food, love everything they offer. Love their Lasas Bakery Cafe next door too.

Always delicious. My favorite thing to get here is the BBQ chicken skewers a la carte and the pancit bihon.

Great food, great service. Ma sarap.
The dinuguan is my favorite, they also have fantastic caldereta, sisig, and bulalo.
If you haven't tried their Cafe next door, they have wonderful baked goods, kape barako, and ube Macha lattes.

Grew up near Cubao, QC where they had a Hong Ning restaurant. They eventually left the area and heard they (or the family) moved to the NW Chicago suburbs. While not quite the same, the food here is quite decent. The pork bbq is very much Filipino style, so highly recommend that. The fresh lumpia when available is a must order. Service was quick and friendly. And we were always able to find a table available immediately. Ample parking.

AMAZING! Here's how I judge a restaurant if the natives are half of the occupants of said restaurant, the food is ALWAYS good. You realize that they're not going to come waste their money on just average food! Our friend is Filipino and recommended this restaurant.

Average Filipino food. Nothing to write home about. I don't like their crispy spin on the Diniguan. The kare kare is just average. I complained there was no tripe so they took it back to the kitchen only to bring it right back to tell me it's there. They said the vegetables camouflage it. They were right, but I could only find 4 small pieces. It's pretty bad if one has to carefully look for it. The meat was also tough. I'm also very disappointed at the absence of any silog (Filipino breakfast with rice and eggs). Their halo halo and desserts are decent.

Hong Ning Filipino Restaurant offers some authentic Filipino dishes and desserts. All of their dishes are served à la carte and family-style, big portions meant for sharing. Make sure to get plenty of white rice or garlic fried (sinagag) to enjoy the plenty sauces and flavors. Highlights were the KareKare (stewed beef), Dinaguan (chocolate pork) and Pancit palabok (shrimp with a spaghetti like rice noodle). For me, the two appetizers were hit or miss, Fried Bangus and Sisig, needed some sawsawan (vinegar dipping sauce) to help bring it together. All that aside Hong Ning impressed me with great food, a warm environment and friendly service. Salamat po, kitakits!

The food was terrible! Extremely expensive!!
Requested for non charred pork bbq to make it edible and non toxic to eat…but I guess not.😩
And for $3.00 a stick they should have done just that.
