We are regulars and tonight the food was not up to par. The queso was cold, the chips were stale, my salad had brownish lettuce, and my son’s chicken tenders were cold. Quality was off tonight.

The food here was great, but I did feel like the prices were a bit on the higher side. What really surprised me, though, was how not dog friendly this restaurant is. Dogs aren’t even allowed on the outdoor patio, which was disappointing. When I mentioned that I’d leave my dog in the car (it wasn’t hot out, the windows were down, and I was parked right next to the patio where I could keep an eye on her), the host reacted in a way that felt unnecessarily judgmental. They questioned if I was really going to leave her in the car and if I’d be leaving the windows down, which made me feel like I was being irresponsible. Overall, it left me with a very off-putting impression.

We're here now enjoying a terrific fish fry, every bit as good as reviews. Our server is awesome, the atmosphere is families enjoying a warm Friday night. WHY do I have to watch Fox News showing videos of that conservative influencer being shot? The commentary was hateful & mean. Think, managers! You have a great restaurant that attracts people from all over the area. Why choose to offend any percentage of customers? Not family or polite company viewing.

Food is just OK but I will no longer spending my money at any establishment that supports the hateful politics of the GOP

This café has a welcoming atmosphere and enough space to sit comfortably. It’s a decent place to stop by for coffee, read a book, or have a light conversation without feeling rushed.

We have always enjoyed VT but this was poorly managed. We came in on a Wednesday and ask to sit at a booth. The booth they sat us at was right next to a party they had going on. And people were standing right at the edge of the booth and was extremely loud. Why they didn't put the party separated in the empty section by the bar would be more appropriate. It seems they were over the limit on the one side. So we asked to move to a booth that was empty. They said we couldn't move to that booth as it wasn't open. Needless to say we took our business elsewhere.

Took long time before server came to table. Once she took the order was good. But they weren't busy

So, we’ve known about this place for a while and decided to finally try it out. We were seated quickly but then waited about ten minutes for our server. We ordered drinks and our entrees together but then we received our soup/salad , then our entrees before we ever got our drinks. They finally arrived and our food was generally okay. The chicken tenders were good but the jambalaya was just okay. It tasted like it might have been in a warmer all day.
Nothing was really bad but nothing was really great either. I know this is a local favorite but I wanted to give another perspective.

We are from out of town and Village Tavern was recommended to us. We were told to try their chicken tenders and we did. All we can say is AMAZING. Perfectly breaded with an absolutely delicious honey mustard sauce. Sweet potato fries were delicious as well as the breaded cod fish. Yes, they were so good, we went two nights in a row. Bartenders Jess and Kristine were amazing and the manager on duty ( feel bad we never got her name) was an absolute pleasure to speak with both nights. We will definitely be back. Great atmosphere and definitely not loud at all.

12.50 for an "adult mac and cheese" is ridiculous when I just asked for the mac and cheese and was never told about portion sizes or anything. All I was told after I had paid for it was that it was again the "adult mac and cheese" when I had just paid for some crappy Craft macaroni and cheese that I could buy from the store for like 3 dollars.

This is my husband and my go to place for date night. We always, always have great service. Well last Sunday we did not. The waitress we had was horrible. So horrible we did not leave a tip.
