Not only do they have incredible pizza, but they are an amazing family who we have the pleasure of being both customers and friends with! Their deep dish (and thin) crust pizzas are really the best. Ive been ordering Uncle Jerrys since the beginning. Give them a try !!

Went to Uncle Jerry’s for the first time today and was so happy with our experience! We have a rambunctious 2 year old and the staff truly went above and beyond; gave him some cheese slices and some crayons to try and keep him entertained while we could eat our meal (which was also delicious!) We’ve been waiting to try Uncle Jerry’s and our experience surpassed expectations! 10/10 would recommend!

Came here for the first time last night. Sat at the bar. Had no idea that it was a butcher shop as well. What a cool chill vibe this place had. The owners wife was there and very interactive with us as well as the gal behind the bar who was our server. I had sausage and spinach and OMG! It was amazing. The crust is to die for! For me, better than Lou Malanati’s and Giordano’s. I will definitely be going back for both dine in and take out. I will also be letting all my friends know about this place. DELICIOUS!

Exceptional deep dish pizza, serviceable wait staff, sparse but comfortable atmosphere. Wide variety of bottles beers and hand poured cocktails. Very casual environment.

Parking: Not easy to angle into parking spots, but handy parking when the butcher isn't open.

Kid-friendliness: Easy environment to bring children. Very casual dining experience.

I've ordered pizza from here 3 times. The wait times are long, but what's frustrating about the experience is that the quoted time for pickup is never accurate. I live two towns over, so it's about 20-25 minutes worth of driving to make it to the restaurant to get the order and it's important to me that I don't let the pizza sit in the box for more than it needs to since that alters the flavor.

The first time I ordered, I was told that it would be an hour and a half before it was ready. I get to the restaurant 90 minutes after I call and then I have to sit for an extra ~15 minutes before the order is done because I was misquoted. Total for one pizza was about 40 dollars.

The second time I ordered, I was told 90 minutes again. I then received a text about 45 minutes after I ordered telling me it was ready. By the time I got the pizza home (45 minute round trip) it was lukewarm and the grease had re-saturated within the dough making it soggy. Total again for one pizza was about 40 dollars.

The third time I ordered, I was quoted 60 minutes. I get there to pick it up and the staff tells me it's going to be another 15-20 minutes. I leave to go take care of an errand and I'm back in 20 on the dot. I inquire about the pizza again and I'm told it's going to take another 15 minutes. I sit around for another 22 minutes before I finally have it handed to me. And the lady who handed it to me gave me attitude when I tried to clarify the order since another guy who shared my name came into the restaurant at the same time. I bought two pizzas during this visit and it was almost 100 dollars total.

In terms of taste and food quality, the first time I had the pizza, it was on par with Giorgio's in Crystal Lake: same style, similar taste, slightly different texture of crust and dough (Giorgio's is more crumbly and pie-like, Jerry's is crispier most of the time) but it progressively went down hill. The last pizza I got (pictured) was a sopping oil mess. I had to take paper towels to the top of the pizza to clean out the extensive amount of oils and used about half a roll. In addition, I later found a decent-sized puddle of grease in my car that I suspect leaked out of the side of the box. I had the box upright from the time I left the restaurant to the time I got home, so I'm not entirely sure how it escaped, but you can see from the box that it was very saturated and looks to have leaked out of the flap ports.

I don't really know what their problem is, but my guess is a combination of lack of staff, lack of their own building/kitchen, too much demand, or just bad business practices, but I've spent enough of my money here. Giorgio's is the same thing, cheaper, and more convenient (at least for me since they deliver).

Wow. Fantastic pizza. Perhaps the best crust I’ve ever eaten! I also loved the pepperoni. Tons of flavor. Wonderful neighborhood addition.

Pizza so good, you will fight about it!

Uncle Jerry’s pizza has a special place in my heart. The first time I ever went into the place, it was so busy I could barely see the takeout counter. I ordered by phone, “4 hour wait…are you okay with that?” “…4 hours for pizza?!” I exclaimed. I thought to myself, “if I have to wait 4 hours for a pizza, it must be the best pizza out there.” I was not wrong. When I finally picked up my pizza on the busiest night of the week, I got home, proceeded to open the box, and looked at the best looking pizza I’ve ever seen. Perfect cupped mini pepperonis, melted cheese on the crust, and a perfect buttery dense crust, all with the freshest ingredients.

The next time I went, I also placed an order, but it only took an hour to wait. The guys in there were super friendly. I told them about my experience the first time and they were ecstatic about how much I loved the place. They asked, “have you tried our hot honey?” “No?” I said. I thought to myself “who puts hot honey on pizza??” Jerry does. Uncle Jerry knows best. This is the first time I tried hot honey on pizza. It was homemade, liquid gold, that was much needed on a pepperoni pizza. I will never not have hot honey on pizza again.

The most recent time I went there, me and my girlfriend decided we wanted to dine in, for the best experience. We would get fresher pizza, a super yummy smelling environment, and get to know some of the people that make this awesome pizza. We waited in line for approximately 1 hour on a busy Tuesday night, and decided to sit at the bar. We ordered our pizza, and mid way through my beer, a guy asks if he could sit next to us. He looked like a local regular. The bar tender recognized him right away and told him he would not be served because of past experience. He got visibly upset, but after we heard the story later, this was understandable. Drama with people is funny, especially eating your favorite pizza. Katie at the bar took care of the situation best she could, bless her heart, and this guy was just trying to let her have it. He still ordered a pizza because he knew that the pizza was that good.

If you made it to the end of this review, thank you for reading. I just love this place. The atmosphere, the smells, the convenience of it being so close (as opposed to periods downtown Chicago) and of course, the pizza. Please make an effort to stop in, say hi to whoever is working the back, and have patience for a masterpiece of a pizza, as it will most likely take a while to get your pizza too. That’s the best part of it, you can always order ahead. :)

Dont plan to bring the fam here the menu is very limited. Pizza is really nice, fresh tomato taste. Drinks are stiff which was nice, they have a gaming/meat counter which is weird. Odd patrons honestly, don’t sit in my seat type of vibes. Menu’s are in gross condition.
