“CU foodies, rejoice!
If you are a fan of perfectly balanced aromatics, flavorful potatoes, spicy sauces, and food that is totally filling without feeling heavy, this is what you’ve been looking for. There’s a plethora of vegetarian and vegan friendly options, and my husband and I were so pleased with the spice blends we shouted with joy a couple of times.
We started with a potato bolani, a bread stuffed with potatoes, onion, and cilantro which came with an incredible chutney. For $6, we could have filled up on that.
For our mains, I got chicken karahi/kadai, and he got the mantu, which are beef dumplings topped with various herbs and yogurt sauce. We traded back and forth so many times, I almost lost track of who ordered what.
Also, my husband is diabetic, and our choices had him holding at a 130bg an hour after. Your mileage may vary, obviously, but legume and protein-rich stuff tends to work well for a lot of folks with those dietary issues and he was thrilled he could eat a *little* more than he probably should have.
I can’t wait to go back and try everything else. We like trying many cuisines, and Afghan food is our new favorite!“
