Me and my dad ate here and we are both going back and forth to the bathroom lol. Fighting for our lives. I Don’t know what they did back there with that food lmao. he got cheesy rice and beans and I get the chicken on rice and the rice was hard. Kind of disappointed cause I spent like 35 bucks on it.

Review written 4/05/2025. Service was super rushed, they basically dart away from your table without giving you a chance to talk or ask for anything or finish whatever you are trying to say.
Also the chips are very bland with like no seasoning and like no salt.
Their guacamole is good. Rice was pretty bland.
Also they advertise online on U of I iCard benefits website that there’s an Icard person for U of I Icard holders, but when I asked if they still give the discount, they said no. So that needs to be updated.
Also some map apps still show the old El Toro location which needs to be updated.
I’m almost positive that my food was freezer food that had been heated. Much better Mexican options nearby.
I ordered over the phone. My order was $4.00 more than it should have been . . . based on the online pricing. I was not given an itemized receipt. I won't be ordering from them again because of this issue. Go to Casa del Mar.

No matter dine in or carry out, they always provide sizable portions of some of the best food around. Seriously, the beans, rice, and salsa mixed into a chip dip is a meal itself and there's still whatever you ordered next to it! 10/10 recommend

My food was deplorable. I got chimichangas and had to through my whole meal away.

The food was excellent here and I loved their fish tacos. Almost as good as the ones I had in Florida some years ago. Our waiter was very pleasant and kind as well. We didn't have to wait long at all for our food. I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area.

Very nasty attitude from the old man behind the counter. Incredibly unhelpful, almost refused to give me my order cause he didnt wanna look at the bags. Kept asking for my name, gave it to him and he was still somehow confused and asking for confirmation? dude im showing you the screen that says my order is ready. Just take two minutes of your time to look at the two ONLY bags and see which one has a single fajita ??? debería darle vergüenza

Our waitress had a hard time understanding us. Two orders were wrong and one was never fixed when it was pointed out. I had to track down the server to get things we needed and a refill was never provided. My rice tasted sour. Everyone else did enjoy their food. For the price and service, we will probably skip eating here again.

It's just not good Mexican food. I'm not sure if this is catering to a certain demographic but I don't want white-washed Mexican food when I get a craving for Mexican food. I can't just buy a cheap can of refried beans and nacho cheese sauce myself. It's just nasty.
