I’m giving 5 stars because of other reviews and the cook was understanding. The biscuits and gravy were inedible because of the gravy. The scrambled eggs were still runny and the hash browns were cooked in a ton of oil. The French toast was batter in pancake mix but still was good for their take of the dish. To be fair, I could have said something about the eggs so not their fault. Our server almost took our food to the wrong table but I’ve served and have done the same plus...
This diner is such a a gem in downtown Champaign. Open for breakfast and lunch only, make sure to bring cash (cards not accepted) and get a throwback diner experience with excellent service & food. Highly recommend their French Toast but you can't go wrong with your order at this place- ALWAYS top notch!
Nothing fancy about this place, but the food was awesome. Gus' Famous French Toast was unlike any french toast I have had before. Resembled a piece of bread with batter poured on top of it. Was well worth the visit.
