Kamikaze Hibachi & Sushi

First time here. Tried the spicy tuna roll (lived up to its name - have ice water ready) and the spooky roll (tasty combo of soft shell crab, cucumber and cream cheese). Nice cozy little place, but don’t expect the same atmosphere as the sushi bars in larger cities.

Ordered sushi, Spicy Tuna roll and a special Spice Girl roll. Spent $27 for the two rolls. Flavor was good, fresh. My rating for the food is only stars becuase the sushi inside the roll was so small. Bountiful rice. Inside spicy tuna was smaller than a dime, 30% smaller, but also had the crunch filler. Same tiny portion of inside roll for the spice girl. $27 dollars for rice doesn't seem like a good value. I watched other orders going out and they looked good (hibachi.)

The food and portions here were great, it’s a great place to grab to go food. We dined in and the music was extremely loud it was difficult to have a conversation. The prices seemed higher than I expected as well, we ended up spending more than if we would have went to a traditional hibachi restaurant. However, the chicken egg rolls were great and the sushi was fresh. I’d return to order to go.

Wonderful meal for 7 people. Had the steak and chicken hibachi plate, chicken noodles, crab ragoon, and egg rolls. We all really enjoyed the food. Portions were very generous.

Been meaning to give the place a try,the quality is really good,if you dine in,the place is a little small, but their takeout is the way to go.

I ordered the cali roll and was extremely sad it tasted bad :( like the crab meat and rice tasted like water….there was no taste at all I’ve never had anything like that but I’m hoping I can try something else and have a better experience I’m a huge sushi lover..I hate leaving unkind reviews but I think the cali roll I got maybe wasn’t fresh

This was our first time there and the food was great. I ordered a Bento Box #1 and OMG, it was so much food. I loved it.

The kiwi Boba tea w/strawberry Boba was the BEST Boba tea I've ever had! The food was AMAZING! my family will most definitely be back. We all ordered a meal and 2 sushi rolls? , we was stuffed & had enough to bring home for a whole meal 4 the family of 4. Staff was very friendly.

Kid-friendliness: They have a flower wall and whole I was busy my daughter wanted a photo infant of the wall, the staff member came from the kitchen just to take her photo ? ?

We showed up at 6:15 pm on a Saturday evening and they were already closed, even though the hours were until 8. There was a show at Doudna Art Center at EIU that we were attending, so we had to eat elsewhere, since we already drove up there. Will update the review once we are able to dine in.

Love eating here! They are always quick to make your food and it is always fresh. The employees are very sweet as well. We always recommend this place to our sushi eating friends!

EDIT** We had a craving for sushi at 7:40 but they close at 7:45. I called to make sure they didn’t close at 8 and the woman confirmed that they close at 7:45. No worries! We hung up and were bummed that we missed out but then she calls back and greets me by my name and says they’d be happy to make whatever we wanted. They even included free fried rice! It was absolutely delicious and we are so grateful for their kindness!
