Not a good experience. My husband and I have always talked about stopping on our way through. Today was the first opportunity we had to do so. We arrived a little after 9am for breakfast. We got a seat right away and within a few minutes our order was taken. It's all downhill from there. After receiving our drinks, our waitress never returned to check on us nor bring our food. After almost 40mins I went to pay for our drinks, $4.02. When I explained about the lengthy wait and our 1st experience. I was advised they were busy, small apology and was told to have a good day after I was asked what we ordered so it could be canceled. Another couple arrived after us and received their food. How does that happen? We ordered an omelet and hillbilly breakfast, no special request. Will not be stopping again as we pass through. We specifically planned our return home this morning to stop there for breakfast.
Waited almost 40mins and never received our breakfast food. Waitress never returned after taking our order and bringing our drinks. It was just me and my husband, no special request, just ordered off the menu.
Finally had the opportunity to sit down and eat at Jodie's Ol' Farmhouse Cafe in Chester Illinois. So very glad I did. While it was a simple meal with a very simple presentation, the taste, the amount, and the overall experience, was absolutely wonderful. Clearly homemade chicken and dumplings, fantastic mashed potatoes covered in what was almost a broth as opposed to a thick gravy, and was delicious.
