“My fiancée and I stumbled upon this place while driving around rural IL/MO looking for a place to view the eclipse. I am very glad we stopped here. The customers and staff were both very nice and friendly, the drinks we got were cheap, and this was the perfect place to view the eclipse from. The river and landscape looked beautiful.”

“Stopped in here on our first night and had an early dinner, our boys had the kids burger and fries, lots of different kid menu options, my wife had fish and chips and I had the Pirates plate which had clams, calamari, deep fried cod, breaded shrimp, onion rings and Cole slaw. The service was great I had a local IPA my wife had a margarita and she did notice that it seemed to lack alcohol, good place for quick bite, nice view of the lack and overall good service and food, we got lava cake and was supposed to be strawberry cheesecake but when we got back to our motel we noticed we got carrot cake which was fine because it ended up being delicious, would come here again for sure.”

“It's located in the center of the town in Chester, IL. Right next to the "must visit when you are in Chester, IL" Popeye Museum. You can't miss it. There is a parking lot in front of this Subway restaurant you to park your car, convenient. The store is very clean, including the restrooms. The staff was good, prepared the foods as instructed. The price charged was also accurate. There are plenty of seating inside.”

“In a very small town, this hidden gem lives, which is called the Stubborn Mule. Let me say first that the customer service there is beyond reproach! The bartenders are keen to make you any kind of drink that you wish, we watched them and tried several new shots they were trying to perfect. Their food is limited to typical burger type places, however... Their burgers and also their newly introduced Philly cheesesteak sandwich is nothing to be ignored! Tonight I had jalapeño burger and I added an extra slice of American cheese to the burger just because I know that somewhere in my DNA I have to be part mouse . My husband had the Philly cheesesteak... And oh my God the fries... Oh my God, the fries... They are fresh cut with skin on, and they are so delicious! I don't know where you're traveling from or traveling to, but if you happen to be in this particular area I highly recommend that you go to because the Stubborn Mule and their staff are so very friendly and so very welcoming and they will make you feel like family. This is a do not miss location on your trip marker if you're traveling across multiple states. My husband and I will definitely be back there again and I want to send a hard shout out to the owner who opened up his grill, a few hours before opening time, just to make my husband and myself a burger! That shows the customer service of this place has.”
