My fiancée and I stumbled upon this place while driving around rural IL/MO looking for a place to view the eclipse. I am very glad we stopped here. The customers and staff were both very nice and friendly, the drinks we got were cheap, and this was the perfect place to view the eclipse from. The river and landscape looked beautiful.

Food was not real good, this was brunch. French toast had no flavor and potatoes were bad. Thought I was going to break a tooth on a biscuit. Place is normally better than this.

Such a great experience. Staff talked to us at length about similar interest and area events, really felt welcome here. Food and drinks were great!

Food and drinks were good. Atmosphere was eh. You would think a place on the river would have...a view of the river. Not so much. Kind of a closed off atmosphere and at 2 on a Sunday was 4 people in the entire place. Not sure what's on the 2nd floor, but if it offers better views I would open it to attract more people.

Incredibly hit and miss. The food isn't nearly as good as it used to be. Often times miss more than hit. Service is hit and miss as well, wether dining in or ordering online the wait time just isn't consistent. The positives: The building is in a historical location and has been beautifully renovated. They offer their locally crafted beers.

Great little lunch spot right down by the river!I had the big salad. Wasn't exactly huge, but it was tasty. The ranch is made in house. Loved the crispy chicken. It wasn't overfried and dripping in grease. Actually tasted fairly healthy, with just a bit of breading. Lettuce was solid. The carrots and cheese were good too. Service was good. Price was around $25 for two for lunch. Not bad. I'd definitely come back for the food!

How do you write a review that makes the rest of your 'regular' restaurants look bad?Let's start with the hand breaded boneless wings and chicken tenders. Even without the sauce this never frozen chicken, incredibly juicy with breading that is extra fluffy and not crunchy or overbearing, is the very best you can possibly find. The chicken ceasar salad is made with the freshest lettuce and just a touch of dressing with homemade croutons and don't forget the juicy chicken crumbles. The turkey avocado swiss sandwich is ridiculously good! The spicy mayo made in house really sets it off and is more than enough for a big man's lunch. If you have a giant appetite the house made burger will test your stomach as it is one of the biggest I have ever seen.Lastly, on Fridays they do a full flight of all 12 of their microbrewe for $18. Essentially 4 pints of microbrewe for $18! And the beers are very good with something for everyone. This restaurant should be on everyone's TO DO list. 12out of 10 stars!!!

It was pouring down rain and we had some time to spare after visiting the Pierre Menard home before checking into our B&B in PdR so we decided to get drinks & a snack. GPS told us where to turn but there was a big truck coming & the road didn't look like where we should be so we missed it & were rerouted around the block. It was just after lunchtime on a Friday & there were 2 tables finishing up but otherwise empty. I was surprised to find only the corner table had a view. It hadn't been cleaned & the receipt was still on it but we sat down. The bartender came over right away to clean it. Menus but no drink menu. I ordered an Octoberfest & my husband asked for Buffalo Trace but they were out. Bartender offered to get him some Jefferson from upstairs. Ok so we ordered boneless chicken wings too. Wait, there's an upstairs? Is that where the great views are? Did we miss that because we came in the back way? I went to the bathroom, didn't see any stairs anywhere. Drinks arrived quickly but the wings took forever. Nobody else in the room where we were or at the bar. Is there an upstairs full of people ordering food? Idk When the wings finally arrived they were hot but barely sauced in Asian bbq so pretty dry. One star minus for no napkins with the drinks, barely any soap the first time I used the bathroom & none the second time, dry wings. And if there is an upstairs they need better signage. Not a bad place for a small town & they do sell their beer glasses embossed with their name. We bought 2. We'd give it another chance.

We found this little restaurant and brewery in Chester IL. It is in a historical building right by the river. The atmosphere is great and the food was delicious. We got the burgers and fries which I recommend. The table next to us got a tray of 4oz beer samples...looked like 10 different kinds. We don't drink so I can't say if it was good or not. People brought their children and they did fine. The servers were very nice and helpful. It has a bicycle decor. We'll go back.Kid-friendliness: The staff was great with the kids and they have kid friendly food.
