First time here and was slightly disappointed: more with the service than anything else. Waitress “Serenity” clearly had a table of friends there. She took our app order and she pretty much out of sight after. She was nice but not attentive to any table but her group of friends. I saw other tables trying to get her attention as well. Our apps came before our drinks. In fact, we were done eating our apps before the drinks came. I ended up having to ask a different server for them. That same different server took our order. Then here comes Serenity asking us to repeat our order so that should could make sure she stayed on top of it. We were like “really”! Well, my food came out wrong so we had to send it back. The wings were a little undercooked but passing. Drinks were descent (a little too sweet) but I may have been too annoyed to really enjoy them (as I have heard good things about the drinks). I will try this place one more time to make sure this wasn’t a fluke. Ja’Grill still gets my #1 vote for food and drinks.

If I can give zero stars I would. Been to this place maybe 3 times with last night being the 3rd. The last 2 times my experience wasn’t pleasant and that’s why I rarely go.
Yesterday I got suckered in by my girls and remembered why I don’t like this place: the bartenders! I ordered a French 75 only modification I made was for it to be gin and lime in a wine glass, if looks can kill! He makes it in a rocks glass so I didn’t know if it was mine or not, so I ask him. He said no your is right here. Ok then I asked what he was making in the wine glass since I asked for one and didn’t get it. He says Hennessy: ok. Then I asked my girl rhe actual name of the cocktail and the bartender says “ I could’ve sworn I just told you, did I not just tell you? “ trying to argue with me! He was combative the whole entire time, and then he gets into it with me friend in there as well. The bartender acted like he didn’t want to be there. Rolled his eyes a million times and we had been in there just 5 minutes. I will stick to Arelene, Kim, Alex, Stephanie and Misael at Jah Grille.
There’s nothing redeeming about this place
My sister tried this place out for her birthday to have the food delivered to our mother's house. The food arrived quickly through Grubhub and was delicious. It was everyone's first time trying it and it was yummy. There aren't many places that can accommodate our diverse palettes - mine being vegan and my sibs being extra meat, but this one somehow did it all. I had the "rice and peas" where we wrote in "vegan" when calling in the order, with plantain. Though the "rice and peas" ended up being rice and beans, it was good! There was a little spicy bite received when I first bit into it, but it died down and I was able to get through it. I truly do not prefer spicy and wish I'd known, but thankfully I survived to the point where it didn't burn and was enjoyable because it was so tasty otherwise... i couldn't stop. My sibs had various ribs, shrimp and such, and ate all they could with plenty leftovers. The portions are large. Oh, and I must mention that the plantain was SWEEEET!!! This I loved!!! It was slightly carnalized on the edges so I was so glad it didn't disappoint. I thought to myself, they know what they're doing in the kitchen. I highly recommend. I'd like one day to go in to get a feel for the atmosphere, but in this case, eating at home was yummy!!!
Vegetarian options: you must write or call in "vegan" if that's your situation. when the food arrives, it is marked for you to see that someone did take the time to prepare it separately. Rice and beans, rice and peas, and plantain, sorrel (though it was out of stock when ordering)

Great food and atmosphere
This small eatery in Hyde Park is everything! Great ambience, music and food. The wait was about 30 minutes but so worth it. Mermaid Bathwater was the opening drink - I would describe it as a blue sweet tart with a boozy kick. Once ordered the food came out hot and fresh. It was absolutely delicious!

I visited this restaurant visiting from Minneapolis. The service was great. Very busy night waited about 45 min. The beef patty was nothing short of exceptional. Flaky, buttery and hot. The jerk chicken was cold but notheless still pretty good. The drink was STRONG. Will visit again.

Cute lil Hyde Park spot. The jerk catfish brunch meal was delicious, as was the sorrel drink. Our waitress was fun and friendly and attentive. Will definitely come again.

Real island food and real island drinks. Takes us right back to Eleuthera being here. This was our first time but we will be back. Come hungry. Portions are on the big side but the good news there is you get to eat delicious food again the next day! There's no doggie bag for drinks though. I got a weird look when I asked. So now you know, you don't have to ask and perhaps appear a bit foolish. I did the embarrassing part for you. You are welcome. You are also welcome to come here and dive into a plate! Soooo good!
PS I'm seeing this coconut conch chowder and thinking to myself I missed out by not ordering it. Next time conch chowder... Next time.

My daughter dined in and I asked her bring me the mac and cheese, jerk wings and cabbage. When she brought my food I had the so called jerk wings which looked jerk however difinitely not jerked right must have been left. They had no seasoning at all also I received no mac and no cabbage. What I got was plain chicken wings, plantains and muffins. Was highly disappointed.

I ordered the red snapper meal... very delicious, flavorful. They give a lot of food. I immediately put half of it into a togo container and still had plenty to eat. The sides I had were rice/peas and cabbage. They were delicious. I also ordered the caramel rum cake. It was very delicious as well. The cake was 4 layers and they serve a huge piece. The cost was $12 which was worth it because when you count the cost, half of that cake is more cake than some of these places that charge $5-8. Also, the red snapper was $30; however, with it making 2 reasonable meals, if you divide it, $15 is a good price for that meal! Good job 14Parish for a good reasonable meal !!
