“I absolutely love this place and all the inventive options they have for vegan/plant-based diets.
One critique I do have is for the chef-tasting menu which I have done three times now. The experience is one where you sit near the kitchen and have a window view into the makings of the dishes along with a catered several course meal for two. They also provided free champagne because it was our anniversary.
The only downside is that the tasting menu cost is over $200 (with tax and tip) and the portions they serve you are half/-portions sometimes smaller. If you spent $180 at Bloom On your own, you could get full portions just about the same amount of food, try more dishes that interest you, and have leftovers. The chef tasting menu is great for getting a wide selection of things to try, trying a new activity on the row , feeling more in-touch with the process, and having small talk with the restaurant staff. However, if you’re looking to sample the menu, pay around $200, and take home what you like, just make regular reservation and pick out your faves!
Still love the restaurant and will make a separate 5-star review just for the regular restaurant experience.”
“I made a virtual reservation and even though I arrived earlier they found me a table. The very attentive waiter helped me with my low level of English. The pork belly is highly recommended. Very fast service despite being full. Thank you from Barcelona.”
“I have never eaten food like this before! It is so good and I am leaving beyond satisfied!”
“Tapsilog, tocilog, fried fish, halo halo.”

“Preston was a great waitperson, very personable, energetic and helpful with suggestions. We had the Albarino and Pinot Noir, Dip. All American burger and Shrimp and Grits.
What I love is the 4% surcharge goes directly to the staff's health insurance.
We had been to the original location and this is much more intimate. We loved sitting outside. This neighborhood has greatly changed in the 27 years we moved to Chicago.”
“I had a fantastic experience at Gino East Pizzeria. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the food was exceptional. The Gino supreme pizza was a standout, with a perfectly crispy crust and rich, flavorful toppings. Andrew, our server, made the experience even better with his attentive and friendly service. His recommendations were spot-on, and he ensured we had everything we needed. Highly recommend Gino East Pizzeria for anyone craving great pizza and excellent service!”

“This place is pretty unique on argyle in that it serves a lot of items other than the typical pho and spring rolls. You can get Mi Quang and Bun Bo Hue which isn’t widely available in Chicago. Both have a bit more flavor than pho and worth a try. They also serve several apps/street food items that are not common here like the banh khot and bun cha, both are excellent here. For drinks they do have the egg coffee which is a very authentic item. I think Hai sous is the only other place in the city that got it. Come here if you want to try Vietnamese food that is not available at typical pho places.”
“We were here visiting from Brooklyn and had an amazing meal. Ines, the owner is very welcoming and the manager Tori us very warm and inviting.
The food is amazing and flavorful. This is a Chicago hidden gem!”
“all very rich.. without a doubt a place where I will return on my next vacation”
“HOLD THE PRESSES!
What in the WORLD is happening here!
I’ll tell YOU!
The gosh-darned BEST burgers this side of Milwaukee Ave!
I mean… These Burgers Are AMAZING!
Fresh buns, flavors that melt your soul!
The fries… Maama Mia! I am salivating thinking about this place right now!
But… let me tell you… it’s THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE!
When you walk in, you walk into a classic rockers cave. From the posters on the wall, to the selection of concerts on DVD available to view while you dine in their dimly lit and tavern like dining room, it has the. Ives of a 1980’s mini music hall. If you choose to dine alfresco on their outdoor patio you can still enjoy the atmosphere, do it with one of their beers from their extensive selection.
But back to the burgers. Their combination of ingredients for their burgers make for a great selection of flavors. From the Lead Belly, to the Easy Rider, Midnight Special… Aaaaah. You can’t go wrong. Big and juicy and topped with fresh and delicious ingredients.
Oh hell. I’m on my way there now!
PS- There is a Half Off offer from them on Thursday’s if you sign up for their e-mails.
YOU’RE WELCOME!!!
Sorry, no pics of the burger, I couldn’t wait and forgot. Besides, go see it for yourself. Go! Now! Gooo!”
“A great buffet in Evanston run by a sweet elderly Serbian woman who was so accommodating to her customers. Good selection, clean dining floor. Couldn’t ask for anything more.”
“Very friendly, excellent value, and delicious food! From the salads to the fries, from the baba ghanoush to the falafel, everything was super flavorful and well-prepared. The atmosphere is clean and i”
“Great place to hang out, have a beverage, and play a board game!”
“Delicious food and a vibrant atmosphere. I had the pleasure of dining recently with friends, and every dish, from the Octopus to the Sea Bass was cooked to perfection. The cocktails sent our experience over the top, long with the amazing wait service. Anytime I am back in Chicago, Bar Siena will most certainly be a mandatory stop!”
“Great quality and a beautiful atmosphere!”

“Wonderful Birthday/ Father’s Dinner tonight…Ambiance, Food and Staff absolutely incredible!!! John and Cole, along with the rest of the Ciccio Team are the consummate professionals!!!”
“Hands down the best meal and experience I've ever had. We dined with Chef Jorge and everything was perfect. His vibe, the service, and food all blew me away. You could see how much care goes into each course, and how much passion everyone in Kyoten Next Door has in what they do. Highly highly recommend.”
“The food sounded fancy and tasted SO good! Our server, Andrew, came up with the most delicious drinks! Superb service! We’ll be back!!”
“Great Pizza. Almost like the ones original from Naples, Italy.
In my opinion it is more of a Pizzeria with a touch of "gourmet-quality" since it offers also pizzas that I never heard of (and I'm from Naples, Italy), like the pizza with gorgonzola and figs with prosciutto crudo, I ate it and was in heaven.
This is the 2nd joint in Chicago that makes Pizza very much like the ones you eat in Naples.
Of course, the REAL ? cannot be duplicated because you need the whole experience (along with fresh mozzarella, the right kind of water, tomatoes ?, and mozzarella di Bufala).
Don't get me wrong, the place is the closest to the authentic thing if you consider we are over 9000 miles from the real McCoy!
Parking is hard. The Pizzeria is wheelchair accessible as it is at street level.
A sad drawback are the tables: very close to one another (inside and outside)
You're almost better off ordering and picking up as opposed to eat in.”
“Andrew is the friendliest most helpful person!! Honestly everyone who works at Planta is so kind!! We loved the power lunch special and hope it comes back soon!! Every dish is amazing! Dragon roll is a “must order,” each visit!! So are the udon noodles and sushi burritos!! Overall Planta is food heaven for all but especially if you are vegan ( my family isn't vegan and still loves it)!!! Eat junky or healthy it scrumptious!!!!”

“We went with friends. Every dish was delicious, uniquely flavored, beautifully presented, and explained. The service was superb.
The fried chicken, aged steak tatar, and the desert with the flambed meringue, truffle icecream and chocolate sauce were my favorites. My husband thought the fashionista cocktail was excellent.”
“This place has a cool, hip vibe and it’s fun to eat at the communal tables. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great variety of beer and creative craft cocktails. Food is beautifully plated and delicious - make sure to try the potatoes, baby gem salad and hanger steak.”
“Outstanding! Highly recommended Knowledgeable, friendly staff and incredible experience”

“An absolutely fantastic dining experience! The 4 of us had the non-veggie tasting menu & it was an incredible treat! The staff didn't rush us between courses & so we were able to savor each dish. I particularly enjoyed the lamb course & the course where the lentil cake (I think!) was wrapped in real gold foil. This is a place to bring friends for special occasions, family celebrations, and just treating yourself to a great meal in a quiet & relaxing setting. Highly recommended.”
“Great quality and a beautiful atmosphere!”
“We went last night for the first time… Great menu options, food was delicious, portions were perfect, staff was really nice. I had the Grilled Salmon, he had the Braised Pork Shoulder…definitely recommend both.”
“Margherita Pizza & Cacio E Pepe are delicious!! Great spot for dinner! The Calabrian chili honey was amazing on top of the pizza!! Cannot wait to come back!!”

“10/10 recommend! We had the shrimp yakisoba, pork okonomiyake, salmon starter, cucumber kimchi, and black sesame dessert - all of which were delicious and authentic tasting. We also thoroughly enjoyed our “yesterday” saké flights as well. Ana was our gracious server, and she was helpful and attentive. We can't wait to go back!”
“Top notch service, drinks were phenomenal, and the food simply EXCEPTIONAL. Thank you for the VIP treatment on my Anniversary! You peeps are amazing!”
“Today, we hosted a couples shower at Stay and Play Cafe! It was beyond amazing! The owners, Yesenia and Jose were so easy and delightful to work with, the staff was attentive, recommending and teaching games to our guests of all ages, the food was delicious(cheesy eggs and quesitos were scrumptious), and the atmosphere was just perfect! I can't recommend this cafe enough. I look forward to having other functions here and/or coming with a group of friends. I can't wait to start spreading the word to family and friends. Thank you Jose and Yesenia for making our day so special! Anita G.”

“I love the shrimp, always fresh and very delicious every time!”
“Sherry has great customer service, she was helpful and funny at the same time. Some people are so focused on serving the product that they can be rude and dismissive but not sherry. She was great and she’s been there too long to not be considered for a greater position. I don’t even write reviews so I’m going to be back in order to see whether this review helped her out.”
“The guy who made our order was really nice and the food was delicious and I will definitely go back in again. It was 530am and nothing else was open yet.
Parking: The place has plenty of space on the side of the restaurant and street parking too.”
“We came here tonight and had a delicious meal. The only thing better than the food was Chunky and the rest of the team. What a wonderful group of people. We will be back. Wolfpack 2024”
“This is one of the best place to have a delicious South Indian food. Their service and taste will make you feel like you are in india.Good hospitality,Good taste,Affordable price,Must enjoy.!”
“This vending machine has been here for years! Very convenient location as it's by the underground walkway. Lots of drink options! Hope they roll this out to more locations!”
“I had my first Philly Cheesesteak ever from this place after 31 years on this Earth. It was absolutely one of the best things I’ve ever tasted, I was full with a hurting stomach and I didn’t want to stop eating it because it was so delicious. The steak wasn’t fatty and chewing, it was a made just right. And this is coming from a guy who hasn’t had pork and barely any beef in 15 years… Babas has sent me on a steak journey and I love it!”
“I didn't actually eat here! We just stopped in to use the restroom. The manager/owner was so kind. The rest of the staff was sweet, too. If their spirits are any indication of the food, then the food is bomb. Gonna have to come back and try it!”
“Mr. Molcajetes is a late-night haven for taco enthusiasts. Their steak tacos are a delicious, packed with flavor and grilled to perfection. The vibrant patio sets the stage for an idyllic summer dining experience. Whether you're craving a midnight snack or a lively evening under the stars, Mr. Molcajetes is the go-to spot. I would highly recommend it. Service was fast and I always felt tended to.”

“We went for a Friday dinner and there was only chef working so everything was a bit slow. However, the food was phenomenal. The som tum was authentic: not too sweet like other spots I have tried. It was refreshingly tart and fragrant from the kumquat. The larb gai was also excellent with all the flavors very well-balanced. Pad kee mao had a great char and the delectable smoky wok hei. The texture of the noodles definitely elevated this dish: thin yet possessing such a satisfying chew.”

“The best birria I have ever eaten in my entire life. I've just been there for the first time and it's simply incredible. From the first place, I was involved in something difficult to explain, so many years passing and never having given them a chance or knowing the goodness of their food.”
“There are aspects to find dining that so many places overlook. Oriole seems to have considered everything. Do not come expecting a meal. Come expecting an *experience*. The layout, the music (great taste, Chef!), the staff, and the presentation create a backdrop that allows the visitor to really take in and appreciate each part of the menu. Expect to encounter new flavors, and savor old flavors in new ways. The food was impeccable, the wine pairings were expertly selected.
Additionally, the staff did a great job of ensuring wheelchair accessibility for the entire experience!
(Nod to our maître d’s , Raoul, Ian, Diego, and Kenny)
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp to get to the door. They have a lift for getting up to the kitchen level.”
“I am late writing my review but I had to write it !! I visited provare chicago On july 8th !! From start to finish this restaurant gets 5 starts . The decor was nice and set a perfect atmosphere for a great night . We were greeted immediately upon arrival and seated within 5 minutes of being there . Once seated the wait staff began their introduction's on drinks and popular menu item's. After my party ordered drinks and appetizers a gentleman came over (not sure if he was the manager) and introduce himself and made sure we were having a great experience. Appetizers were amazing!! We couldn't wait for dinner!! Our entrées we just as good if not better ! Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection! When we didn't think the night could get even better the entire wait staff and the gentleman that came over before stopped and recognized my friend for her birthday and brought over a birthday surprise!! I live 307 miles and this place was definitely worth the drive !!!”
“Great food, amazing ambiance and incredible staff. One of the nicest Chicago steakhouses I’ve been to. Highly recommend.”

“We stopped in today on a tip and what a delicious treat! Highly recommend!”
“If you claim Pequod’s or Burt’s as some of your favorites you MUST try Milly’s! It’s very similar however it’s executed to a higher standard (better toppings, more cheese providing better ratios)”

“Lugar acogedor, el pulpo exquisito. Procuren ir a la hora de la apertura (4 p.m. ) a esa hora es menos concurrido lo que permite que la atención sea aún más espectacular.”

“The food, drinks, service and recommendations were excellent. We were celebrating a birthday, and everything from the Oaxacan tlayuda to the Cornish hen with mole and the margaritas made with mezcal from the owners’ hometown in Oaxaca made for a great meal.”
“We stopped here on a whim and are so glad! We only picked up the ube cream puff but we were SO impressed and taken by surprise by how much we loved it (and my dog thought it looked good)! Will definitely come back!
Please make the ube cream puff permanent!”
“OK, let me state without doubt this has been the best meal I have had during my trip and it is not even close.
I wondered if I was going to find it after I got off the bus. But eventually, I made it.
So, I had the Big Beef Italian beef sandwich, I really should have gotten the jumbo. I had a small order of fries with sides of hot Giardiniera, pickles, gravy on the side, and what I thought were sport peppers, but they were sweet peppers.
I was initially disappointed that I could not get the sport peppers, but I got over it halfway through my meal.
The Italian beef sandwich is okay. The gravy is the BOMB, if that is still a word. It makes the sandwich. I got it on the side rather than having it dipped because I did not want to have it all over me. By the time I finished, I was pouring it over the sandwich and sopping up as much as possible onto the sandwich.
The hot Giardiniera, I did not taste it until halfway through the meal, it is spicy, not Indian spicy, but hot, so be careful how much you use if you do not care for spicy food.
The fries were the best I have had. I forgot about the pickles until I was half done with the sandwich.
You may be able to see all of the gravy puddled under the sandwich where I was dragging the bread through it.”
“First trip to Chicago to move our daughter. Husband found this location as it was close to our hotel. Loved the coffee and the muffins and sweet rolls were delicious. Special shout out to Attika (sorry if I misspelled your name). Your customer service skills were top notch and you definitely made us feel welcomed at a time when it was most needed.!! Definitely be back!!”
“Found metal in my food and the staff was Very Rude about it!”
“I am proud to recommend Mrs Craig Vanessa for a selfless and reliable investment service. I was constantly looking for a reliable platform to invest and my friend introduced me to her platform and I realized this is the best platform to invest on because she maintains discipline in her investment relationship and strategies to ensure the complete transparency and credibility of her investors. She helped me gained $16,000 with just a capital of $2,000. If you want to be financially successful invest with her ASAP via WhatsApp through Facebook: Mrs Craig Vanessa”
“Fabulous, I had the yellow curry, that was delicious, pot stickers and crab Rangoon delicious as well and those drunken noodles awesome. Give a try ignore the lights”
“Small Puerto Rican cafe/book shop that has great service and amazing sandwiches. Owner made me a tuna jabarito since I didn’t want meat, 10/10. Nutella latte was also good.
Vegetarian options: Owner can make meat sandwiches vegetarian or pescatarian”
“Wow! We arrived a little early for our Saturday at 7:30 dinner reservations in hopes of getting seated early, if there was a chance. It was restaurant week in Chicago Osteria was very busy. Unable to get a table early, we happily sat at the bar and waited. After debating on what drinks to order, we opted for the "just bring me wine" . The bartender asked if we were having the restaurant week menu, as that had specific wines to go with the courses (which is what we went with). We were seated a little after 7:30, no complaints on my part over that, as they were very busy. When a place is participating in an event such as restaurant week and there is a set menu, one shouldn't expect any substitutions from said set menu. I completely understand this, although having to eat gluten free poses a bit of an issue for me. The options for the main course of the set menu wasn't going to be a problem for me. I inquired about the ingredients on the first course. I knew the bread and roasted garlic, as well as the meatballs were a no go for me and explained that I couldn't eat the prepared salad due to the croutons. Much to my glee, I was offered a caprese salad instead of the Caesar. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the bread with roasted garlic in oil and vinegar, as well as the meatballs and Caeser salad. The soup was a delicious chicken and vegetable soup. At 8:10 started to get nervous about the time, due to us having tickets to see Drunk Shakespeare at 9pm. This was poor timing on my part, I should have reserved our table for 7pm or earlier not 7:30pm. When our waiter came over to check on us I explained that we needed to put out by 8:30(ish). Mild concern came over his eyes and he went back to check in at the kitchen. Moments later, a gentleman came to our table (I'm assuming the manager) to discuss our predicament. He kindly explained that our main course wasn't going to be ready for another 20 minutes (the restaurant was very busy). The timing would have been just fine any other night for us, but not that night. After a discussion with the manager, we all came to an agreement of us having a second bowl of soup and paying ala carte for what we had eaten and forgoing the set menu. I take full responsibility for our poor timing and am delighted in how the restaurant was gracious and accommodating. Our waiter brought over two glasses of chocolate wine to finish off our meal. The food was outstanding and the service was even better. Next time we are in Chicago, I'll make sure to set enough time aside to enjoy the full eating experience.”

“Perhaps the best restaurant in Chicago. The vibes and energy are perfect for date night or a special occasion. The menu changes seasonally but there are some staples that you shouldn't miss. Anything duck related, the steak frites, and the French onion soup are always great. Oh and don't sleep on the homemade ice cream for dessert.”
“Kind hearted people are quite rare to find as cooperate people or as individuals also. I'm sharing a 4 years friendship and business relationship i've shared with Mr Ralph Carico for being such an awesome, kind and specially oriented. Thank you for being supportive each time i buy and invest in digital stocks and coins with your firm.”
“Beautiful food and wine. Great atmosphere. Staff that were attentive without being overbearing. Michelin stars. And a 5m walk from the apartment. This could become an expensive habit!”
“Excellent authentic japanese omakase experience with highly skilled sophistication of the food overall, well made explanation of every step, special appreciation with the sitting at the bar. We loved the proposed sake fitting perfectly. Great experience.”
“Just hit up this spot last week with the whole fam. Awesome place, and the servers are super friendly. You've gotta check it out!
Kid-friendliness: very kids friendly”
“The most laid back tasting menu in Chicago. These guys serve incredibly good food without the pretentiousness of a fancy restaurant. There are no waiters, the chefs serve the food themselves. 10/10 would recommend.”
“When I say that this is the best omakase experience in the city, please believe me. Alex is the best in the business and the entire team are knowledgeable and incredibly well versed. We did a 17 course experience that was a dream from start to finish. Can’t wait to visit again in August!”

“Not a typical ho-hum Chicago steakhouse. High quality menu, excellent service, etc. The Akuashi steak was way better than anything I've had at a steakhouse. Tallow fried potatoes were a surprise. Would order again for sure.”

“Expansive Vietnamese menu which includes less common dishes. Ordered Bo Kho with rice noodles and Mi Quang, both of which were flavorful and well-seasoned. Service and atmosphere are nothing to write home about but is what you may expect from a family-owned Asian restaurant. 5 stars for the food alone.”
“So many delicious flavors, it was hard to pick. Our family of four enjoyed our different choices. It's a beautiful ambiance for the beginning of summer with indoor and outside space. Staff was very friendly and helpful in helping us decide which flavors to try. Def recommend and we'll be back to try new flavors!”
“Very impressive drinks and menu. A modern twist to Mexican food definitely 5 stars. Waiter was amazing at guiding me what to choose based on my traditional Mexican entrees I enjoy. Margaritas were AMAZING!!!!”
“Excellent service, and the best pizza I have ever had.”

“**July 2024 Update**
As usual, I frequently visit Taste of Lebanon to enjoy their amazing shawarmas and sides. However, I must say that something has changed with their garlic sauce. I'm not sure what happened, but the sauce is not what it used to be—it's milder, and you can barely taste the garlic. I've been to the place twice in the last week and spoke with one of the fantastic brothers who own the place. I hope it can return to its original taste because that sauce was the authentic charm of the place.

I'm sure you'll love this place. The lamb shawarma, tabouli salad, and babaganoush are delicious, but the very best side is their garlic sauce—it's amazing! Keep it up ?”
“Being from the suburbs traveling downtown can be an experience. This particular experience made our day. Moving our daughter into DePaul we came upon the owner of Red Light chicken who gave us a few pointers in parking near his establishment, after taking the time to help us find a spot he happily welcomed us with a free chicken sandwich which I’m happy to report was delicious. It was nice meeting you tonight and I’ll be certainly stopping by again - Fries are a game changer to!!!”
“You receive a slice of orange and a donut hole when you are seated, I assume a tradition.
So for my birthday breakfast, I thought I would get something light.
Lou Mitchell's had other plans. I had read in reviews that their omlette has eight eggs. So, while I thought I was getting an egg sandwich with bacon and cheese, I got a Texas-sized meal with hashbrowns that looked like they cut up a whole potato.
I was not able to finish it anyway, but it was good.
It seems I beat the rush as the line was out the door when I left.”
“Super impressed with this place. Hands down best customer service of ANY place I’ve been. You walk in and are greeted with smiley faces. Then you get sample brownies. Then someone comes with water. Then you get ice cream samples. It’s emasculate service. Top notch.”
“Them carnitas slap. Maybe not the best I’ve had, but they are great fresh. If you get any salsa, don’t get the watery ones, those were an embarrassment to all Latin people. We have gone plenty of times and everything is usually bomb, but this last time I just presume we went too late, cuz the food just missed the mark big time. On the flip side, can’t wait to try their menudo next time ?”
“La comida es delicioso muy economico y la atención de Primera y el lugar muy acogedor 100% lo recomiendo”
