“Hit up TAK Korean Bistro & Karaoke in the South Loop with a few friends for dinner and karaoke, and this spot is an absolute gem. We ordered the crispy soy garlic Korean fried chicken, spicy tteokbokki, and a sizzling bulgogi plate, and every single dish was straight-up fire. The chicken had that legit shatter-crunch, and washing it down with some cold soju hit the spot after a long week. The vibe inside is super lively, and renting a private room for karaoke afterwards made the night a total blast. Easily one of the best late-night spots in the city for top-tier eats and a solid time with your crew.“

Isao Tozuka, the chef and his wife Chiyo-san, are fabulous hosts, very friendly, and really happy to help and show you how things are do e.

“Ate there for the first time tonight. I am vegan and my husband is an Omni. Chef Bill came out and waited on us personally, and gave us menu recommendations, all of which were delicious! The ambiance was so relaxing and peaceful; it was a nice respite from a busy day and I didn’t want to leave. Reasonably priced as well: shared appetizer, two teas, two entrees, and two desserts was $60. Will definitely be back for many more dinners!“

“Our Saturday lunch at Rice’N Bread was great. They have a tight menu of Korean and Western diner style food. We had the Buldak and Spicy Yang Nyum Chicken that were generous portions with rice and coleslaw and very tasty. Efficient service. Well priced. The washroom situation is a little different, walking through the tight kitchen. There is a liquor store next door for BYOB. A great find in the neighborhood. No frills, just good authentic food.“

“I've dined here multiple times within the past two years and not only is the food extremely delicious but the staff here is upbeat, friendly and always delivers a five star attentive service to whomever dines in here.

You simply walk up to a computer screen where you can choose from a list of soup, appetizers, main courses like bimbap, bulgogi beef, scallion pancakes and other traditional Korean dishes.

I usually order a simple soup that's extra spicy with assorted vegetables, rice cakes and an egg. You can add extra vegetables, cheese or an extra egg to your order too.

The chefs were quite busy this evening with tons of pick up take out orders but I personally prefer dining in here and you also get an opportunity to watch the chefs cooking in the kitchen.

This evening one of the chefs pointed out assorted delicious sides at the counter that I had never noticed before. Basically you can help yourself to as many sides as you'd like before your meal arrives and they were extremely tasty.

“I've been to many Korean BBQ's within the states and I have to say this was the best customer service we received. This place is pricey for the small portions you get. I'd definitely come back for the service tho.“

“The Seolleongtang is as awesome as advertised with an elegantly simple broth, and meat that slides off the bone. Getting those meat bites with wasabi and soy sauce is amazing, and I highly recommend sending the oxtail.

The kimchi, cut at the table, was great and the staff was friendly. One of the best soups and authentic Korean spots you can find.“

“been here a few times, each is better experience that the last, attempt to try most of their items on menu. So far, my favorite is their Mango smoothies with cloud cheese, as drink. Their cloud cheese is really good and a balance of salty taste with the sweetness of the mango, the tapioca in the drinks is plentiful but not overpowering the water content. I had it in other Chinatown restaurants, some had too many tapiocas that my teeth were tired chewing them. Cuckoo is not. Their Don (Japanese rice bowls) and their bibimbap (Korean rice bowls) are excellent. Have not decide which is better because each have their own uniqueness and tastes; I had 2 types of their bibimbap before and only 1 type of their Don. So far, I am leaning towards the Don but there is excellent amount of veggie in their Bibimbap, which is ideal for weigh concise person. Wish they have a loyal customer rewards style of drinks incentives, much like some restaurants, for example, buy 9 and get 1 free drink, or some % off after 5 drink purchases, and give customers an advertisable nice pocket size reward card to keep track of their purchases. That may also work with food item purchases as well. Crossing my fingers that this may happen soon. With summer in Chicago, cool refreshing drinks is ideal and as loyal customers, return for more drink purchases with rewards will be even better.“

“This is by far our favorite Korean restaurant in the Chicagoland area. We drive about 40 minutes to eat here because the food is authentic, delicious, and affordable! It's owned by a Korean husband/wife team. It's not fancy, but I feel at home everytime. I highly recommend it!!“

“Hi! I love the food, but I just had a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE at Rosslyn. The person at the counter threw my food at me, was incredibly rude, and laughed at me while I was speaking with the manager. A total lack of respect. “Absolutely delicious! We were visiting from out of town for the BTS concert and this was near our hotel. My bf loved the tacos and I loved the yangnyeom chicken, and ofc we both loved the kimchi fried rice. They have several flavors of soju to choose from as well. The staff was friendly to us. “We ordered a big random platter of assorted wings, tenders, Korean Bulgogi, and assorted apps. The food was all amazing. The wings were big and perfectly cooked. The Bulgogi was the show stopper for me. I could eat that bulgogi every day (both pork and chicken were equally good). We ordered a huge order from the kiosk in the store and waited only 15 minutes for all of it (nice K-pop videos entertaining us). A couple of Chicago's finest police officers came in for wings too. This will be my new go to Wings and Korean food source. The staff were very friendly too.“

I take metra to downtown for work and on the way back home, there was a random girl eating food on the metra, I had to think many times before I could approach her asking where she got her food from because it looked so appealing and smelled so gooood, guess what? Them Mukbang videos on TikTok made me do it, I ended up asking her where she got her food from and she told me about this hidden place located in Chicago’s French Market. I walked about 10 minutes from my workplace in this freezing cold weather and ordered Ramyun for lunch, I sat there to taste test it before I headed back to work and I told the guy (who seems super nice) that I will stop by at the end of my work to get 3 more orders of Ramyun so I could take them home for my family. I LOVED IT!!!“

“Love the architectural design with the exposed Brick and HVAC ducts. The space exuded warmth through it’s wood tables and floors and low lighting. Bathrooms were very clean also. Now, i ordered the Bulgogi Bap and let me tell you 😍…the beef was tender, flavorful with a hint of bbq. The rice was seasoned to perfection and the portions were large enough to satisfy me and i hadn’t eaten since 9 am. Im super satisfied with my experience ☺️“

“I've never had a Korean dog so decided to give this place a try. The fruity pebbles coating stood out as a major oddball but I was feeling adventurous today. After talking to the guy at the register, he said it was similar to a chicken and waffles sweet and savory combo if I opted for the beef dog. It would solely be a dessert if I chose a mozzarella stick. So I did the half and half.

I'm gonna tell you right now. That was a good move. It was good!!! Sweet and the mozzarella mellowed it out a bit. Then the hot dog came in to give it a more salty twist and that just added to it. I'd absolutely order it again. Definitely give this place a shot.“

“This is my favorite Korean BBQ restaurant in Chicago! I first came here two years ago, and after finally coming back, the food still makes me just as happy as I remembered.

Even though my hotel was quite far from the restaurant, I knew I had to come back because I missed the flavors of their food so much. The ladies here are always very busy, but they still take such wonderful care of their customers and make you feel welcome.

Everything we ordered was delicious and absolutely worth the price. You can really feel the care that goes into the food. I truly hope more people discover this place because it deserves so much more recognition. I’ll definitely be back whenever I’m in Chicago again!“

“It was my 1st time eating Korean BBQ. The food was delicious and it's fun to have the BBQ cooked at your table. I loved all the side dishes and all 3 types of meat we had were very tasty and tender. I didn't find the staff to be very friendly, that would have made the atmosphere so much better. I felt the price was unexpectedly high but it was definitely something I would do again.“

It’s no-frills, just hearty dishes with great quality at an excellent value. We especially loved the codfish soup and tteokbokki. “I ordered the spicy garlic chicken tenders and oh man were they delicious. The portion is large, definitely enough for 2. The tenders themselves are on the smaller side which makes for a perfect ratio of chicken to crisp to flavor. I also ordered curly fries which came out super hot and crispy. Those were delicious but the price was a little high.
