“Update: ate here again yesterday (March 20). Burger prices have gone up to $17 - a $2 increase since Oct. We tried the bone marrow this time. Dunno what the big deal is: it's just globs of fat in the bone that you smear on toast. Husband and son liked it; I thought it was disgusting. Each to their own. Our server this time was just barely ok. Not very welcoming or attentive. And the music was so annoyingly loud, we could barely talk to each other across the table. I have a feeling they do that to get people in and out. Definitely not a place to linger.Burgers (singles are two thin beef patties with lots of melted cheese, on a toasty bun) were fantastic; fries fried in beef tallow and served with garlic aoli were the bomb. Handcrafted Bloody Mary (no crappy mix!) was amazing, too.Place was much smaller than we expected but only a 10 min wait around noon on a Thurs. Good music, a little loud, but went with the vibe of the place.Don't know our server's name, he never told us, but he was fantastic. Very knowledgeable about the food and menu, on top of everything, very accommodating.Only negative was the surcharge on the bill, which you can ask be taken off. You betcha we did. However, we over-compensated the server for his understanding and time in doing so.“

“This place is so cute. As always I'll attach images for the best photo ops. I recommend wearing reds, pinks, blacks, creams/white, and greens for best complimentary images. I ordered the shrimp & oysters. I appreciated the chef allowing me to opt for lobster butter, as a topping, which was nice. The shrimp was a bit tough but it was grilled so I expected that with how busy it was. I added sea salt to the oysters & my gosh that took it up a notch! So good. I also had the Wagyu Tartare and it wasn't too bad. I enjoyed it and the bread was a perfect pairing. The broccolini was also delicious and perfect complement to my steak. I also grabbed fries which reminded me a show string fries but they were pretty delicious. My original bartender, Tre, was amazing! He gave recommendations ,as I waited on the girls to arrive, and the empanadas were amazing! Our server Stefanie (or Stephanie) was also amazing. We didn't have a large party (4ppl) but it was a fairly busy Sunday; she handled everything perfectly. When we had a confusion with our bill she was patient and had grace. Overall this place was great and I give 15/10. Perfect for the girls night (as this visit pertained) and any date night. I'd come back here for a solo meal and content alone! I would like to see a wagyu burger to pair with the fries as an option in the summer! I may be back just for the empanadas and a nice pre-game drink lol.“

The only thing that I didn't quite care for was the lemon meringue pie. The excessively tall meringue is great for presentation but not exactly necessary from a consumption perspective.“

“My journey to Warlord, located in Chicago's Avondale neighborhood, began with a long commute from the Gold Coast. Arriving at 5:39 pm, we were met with the unfortunate news of a 3-hour wait. After returning home and headed back, we waited an additional hour (4 hours). For that, Connor, a true man of his word, secured us the coveted chef's table seats.Nick, our server, was both friendly and accommodating, adding to the overall positive experience at the chef's counter. The atmosphere at Warlord is truly captivating, creating a memorable dining experience. However, while the service and ambiance were exceptional, the food itself fell short of expectations. The steak was "earthy," and left something to be desired. The burger, lacking cheese and failing to surpass the renowned Au Cheval offering, was also disappointing. Even the toast with truffle, while decent, only managed a mediocre rating of 7/10.While the staff and atmosphere create an unforgettable experience, significant improvement is needed in the food department to truly match the outstanding service and ambiance.“

One song was to be our first dance at the wedding and I figured we needed to practice, right? The food was phenomenally made - fusion med tastes and complicated light upnotes - what a special night you made for us, Louisa - it will live in our personal love story and its history. Thank you!“

Since they didnt have Uncle Nearest (insert side eye emoji), I ordered a Basil Hayden Old Fashioned…IT WAS AMAZING. Next up: West Coast oysters. Kumamoto horrible to me (tasted like a fish market…yuk). I loved the Kusshi BC oysters. They were small oysters with a perfect balance of fresh with a punch of salt. Then I was served the yellowtail jalapeño roll and hellfire roll. Everytime I put one in my mouth, I wanted to slap my momma. It was delicious. The spicy paired with the crunch in the hellfire roll….the flavor. Omgahhhh. It was amazing. I will definitely return with friends! I can’t wait until the summer months. I wouldn’t recommend the brownie desert. For the brownie cake, they don’t give you enough ice cream (I’m talking a baby scoop of u e cream).“

“We had a 1:45 reservation to Paradise Park because I felt like it would be a cool spot to take my sister since it’s her first time in town. After sitting around for 10 minutes, our friend Niko, takes our drink order. After another 10 minutes, we finally received our drinks (from someone else) and had to ask him to take our food order. We waited as our food trickled in, with no more appearances from Niko. He never came to refill our water pitcher that we had finished or ask if we wanted more beverages after we finished our first ones. After all our food had arrived (by other staff), we were able to catch him and order another beverage. After plenty of waisted time and being completely ignored, we asked for the check and two to go boxes. We waited 15 minutes for him to bring the check. And knowing his behavior, I placed the card in immediately, but he had already walked away. Then we had the pleasure of watching him talk to the front staff for 10 minutes while we waited to literally just leave.Safe to say at this point, I was absolutely disgruntled by the poor quality “service.” So I was not feeling generous when it came time to tip. Which is wild because I have literally never tipped below 25%. But it was genuinely that bad. We paid and at this point were just waiting for boxes, which we expected to take forever by this point as well. But after 10 minutes, and watching the table next to us ask for boxes, and receive them immediately, we get his attention and remind him we are waiting for those boxes. To which he says that he would, but we “only tipped 9% and he doesn’t work for free.” And then storms off to the back. I go to the bar and ask for boxes, which I honestly should have just done the entire time because it would have made things go ten times faster. It was a frustrating experience, but Tony was very on top of things and handled the situation promptly, generously, and with a lot of care. It very much feels they are concerned with the customer experience and they handled the situation quite well. I do believe this is an isolated incident and not a reflection on the establishment. So for that reason, I will be back, and have chosen to still recommend paradise park as a very fun place to get good food and great drinks.“

“TL;DR - If you’re even slightly thinking about coming here, just do it. Revolution has the best beer in the city, fantastic food, and incredible staff.A lot of breweries in Chicago excel in making their one or two specialty styles of beer, and that’s it. Revolution, on the other hand, is able to guarantee high quality and incredibly drinkable beer across just about every style you can think of. I normally hate those dark, boozy, 15+% ABV beers, yet I drink every single one that Rev puts out and I love it. Their “Hero”-series IPAs will make even the biggest IPA hater second guess their hatred. And their sours (usually released during the summer) are so good, you will question how something this good can be alcoholic. Revolution doesn’t put out a beer that isn’t incredible, so you can pick a beer at random and be sure to enjoy it.Recently, the Brewpub renovated their space and, with it, re-did a lot of their menu. The space is cozy, yet upscale (the seating is significantly comfier than it once was with new plush seating). The new food is also really high quality - much higher than you would expect from a brewery. A lot of detail is put into plating and presentation (Mushrooms & Tofu, for example, looks like a piece of art), and still it tastes somehow even better than it looks. In addition to more upscale menu items, you’re also able to get a lot of that “typical” bar food here that fully delivers (pretzel, cheese curds, fries, etc.). The only gripe I could possibly have here is on the pricing of some of the food. This does not apply to the whole menu though, just some items that feel like they are priced higher than they should be (e.g. Lion’s Mane mushrooms, a starter, costs the same as the Mushrooms & Tofu, an entree, despite being significantly less food and sharing some similar ingredients. Why?!). If you can view this less as a bar and more like a nicer restaurant (which, with the renovation completed, is easy to do), then the pricing is a lot more palatable. The ambiance, food, and drinks are all great, but it’s the staff at Revolution that keeps me coming back though. They’re all so friendly, personable, passionate, and professional - they are the kind of people that make your night out feel special. My fiancé and I have celebrated birthdays, engagements, job offers, anniversaries, and so much more here because of how wonderful the staff are in celebrating and creating such a fun environment to be in. They make Revolution a place we want to go whenever we want to have a good time out. There are just too many people to name (Magnolia, Drake, Erwin, Makenna, Amy, Matt, just to name a few) - but rest assured that we love just about everyone who has served us here. So much so, that my fiancé and I are getting married here later this year! This is the easiest 5 stars I have ever handed out. I have so little to say about places that are “meh”, so the length of this review should show how much I love it here. I’ve come here at least every week for the last 2+ years, and I don’t have any intention of slowing down anytime soon. If you’re still reading this, please stop reading and start drinking, and do it at the Brewpub! You won’t regret it!Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options here. Standouts include the veggie burger (vegan by default), Mushrooms & Tofu (vegan), and a delicious pretzel with beer cheese (vegetarian and oh so good).“

“Really nice cocktail bar with dope drinks. There's a sister bar called "sunny gun" which is a bright venue with a lot of sunlight and outdoor / indoor seating compared to the more speakeasy like money gun venue. Huge fan of the atmosphere and vibes - they play nice R&B mixes and the cocktails are good. Their essential cocktails will run you $15 each and they have specialty drinks that also run around $15. The venue generally opens at 5 pm and you can usually find seating either at the bar or at a table if you come early. Would recommend to visit for the vibes and drinks!“

“The food, drinks (especially whiskey list) and staff make you feel like you are in your favorite neighborhood haunt, just with a more adventuresome menu. Brunch, lunch or supper, it's hearty fare, and there are a few vegetarian options too. Definitely worth a trip out of your way for a visit. Noisy at peak hours but that's true at most places. The Out Side Bar is a great hangout too. I can't wait to come back.“

“A nice steakhouse with a fancy atmosphere and wonderful service. I had the Chicken Milanese and Lobster Bisque. The bisque was delicious and very flavorful. The chicken melted in my mouth and was nicely lightly breaded. The quality was top notch and I will be back to try a steak!“

“We had a long wait, but it was remediated by glasses of champagne and a pastry flight. Even though the beginning wait wasn’t great, we felt so accommodated by the service I’d recommend anywhere and come back again. Anna, our waiter, and Justin, the GM, were so cognizant of our wait and appropriately compensated us. Even though our reservation didn’t go as planned, I’d recommend this restaurant for the apt service“

“I love going to Fritzy's Tavern if they accept credit cards, debit cards, Google Pay and Apple Pay. I can't wait to go this good bar again. My favorite bar is better than The Anvil. If you're not satisfied with the gay bar The Anvil that only accept cash, DON'T GO THERE on Granville Ave.“

“Really great place. We saw the owner run out and stop traffic at the crosswalk directly outside of the bar so a timid elderly local could safely cross to get her shopping done. The drinks were great and a great price. we even got a tour of the wild and wonderful decor. Definitely going back.“

“Only complaint is the picking and choosing of who they will seat before the entire party arrives. It should be an all or nothing because people will certainly feel a type of way.The handwritten note they give for special occasions is a very nice gesture. We were recommended this restaurant, the service and food were delicious! The assistants to the waiters are on it! The food, staff and ambiance is five star.“

“This is my absolute favorite neighborhood bar. They have Aviary style cocktails at Portage Park prices and amazing culinary fare. They have the best happy hour specials, and the staff is extremely nice and accommodating. The atmosphere wins the vibe check, and their music is always on point. Not that basic top 20 ish. I hosted my birthday party at their downstairs bar, which has a totally different cocktail menu. Our guests loved the venue and said the service was top notch. The owners are great!“

“A Chicago institution. If you don't like Maria's then you probably don't like Chicago. That's fine, but why u here? Maria's is a great place to chill with a cold one. They don't have a huge tap list, but they do have a nicely curated mix of local brews. They also have old standbys like Old Style and PBR. Even on a Sunday afternoon they had good music playing. Maria's feels like home. Thats Chicago.“
