“We enjoy going out. Last night we went to this fine place which we didn’t know before. We enjoyed a delightful evening there with high-qulity meal and an efficient stuff and a talented chef. We added this fine restaurant in our list and we will no doubt return soon. We warmly recommend.“
“Best burger I have ever had! I had a single cheeseburger with the crispy fries. The burger was absolute perfection; from the bun to the patty. I sat at the bar, arguably the best seats in the house. You get to see the dedication and care the cooks put into their craft, and the results reflect that!“
“One of the best meals I've had in Chicago in a long time. Our server Marco was exceptional - we were celebrating a birthday and he made our experience SO special with complimentary dessert and wine! We ordered the empanadas, party steak, papas bravas, and polenta and everything was so delicious. Marco also made a good wine recommendation and let us taste before we decided. Service was top notch throughout our meal and we will be back!“
“A great, intimate steakhouse with amazing food and great service. I came hungry and was not disappointed. I ordered a steak with some bone marrow to compliment and the two large bones came on top and were a great addition. The house sea salt and bearnaise sauce were also flavorful and paired well. I also got a side of the truffle Mac and cheese. It has been a long time since I ate all my food so slowly from enjoying it as much as I did. I made a mistake ordering the strawberries and cream as it ended up being too much for me to be able to finish but it was an amazing dessert with an even better presentation! The wait staff was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a great meal and really want to treat yourself!Vegetarian options: Fair number of great vegetarian options on the menu, especially for a steak house“
“Gilt bar’s happy hour is lively classy and delicious. Definitely try and show up right around 4 as it gets packed quickly. But mostly is standing room. We stood near the bar and the service was impressive for how busy it got. The bartender really could shake those drinks! The $7 teeny espresso martini for me and husband ordered an old fashioned with wild turkey rye $8 ...bartender asked if he wanted to upgrade to the Bourbon the drink increased to $17. He should have said something. Errrr. Seats opened at the bar. (Only can order food if seated) We ordered the mussels which had a lemon vermouth sauce. Dipping the crusty bread in the sauce was my favorite part. The ambiance is fancy and artfully arranged. (4.5/5)“
“4-5-24 My wife and I enjoy eating and this place with a variety of choices to choose from is a great place. We were still full but we had to try something. I got the prawns from Avlì. My wife got the some Korean fried chicken from Urban Belly. The Prawns were cooked perfectly and those strings wrap around it gives it a crunch when you bite into it. The spicy mayo sauce goes good with it. The Korean fried chicken was perfectly fried which gives it a really nice crunch to it, yet the inside is nice and soft. The flavor that coats the chicken and tteokbokki is really tasty. They also have bars inside and busser to clean the area when done eating so no need to put the trays away. Overall, I would come back try other places. Parking could be hard to find. We parked up by Guinness for free and walked down, that’s if you can find parking.“
“Absolutely excellent bar, amazing staff who are calm, kind, and knowledgeable. The entire environment is intentional and high quality. We sat at the bar and got to see the drinks being prepared which was a great experience. Have heard good things about the food though we didn’t try any this time. The drinks are INCREDIBLE. This is a MUST GO in Chicago. We made a mistake with our reservation and they were kind enough to still put us on the waiting list and we were able to include this in our trip. Very grateful and will come again!“
“Can get a bit packed on a weekend night as it's one of a handful of viable Indian options downtown. We were quoted about 15-20 minutes wait time but they didn't let us stand in the vestibule outside and corralled us into a corner of the front to wait.Chicken vindaloo was good - not as spiced as I would have liked (I ordered it hot) but good flavor nonetheless. Service charge is applied automatically for groups of 6 or more, but the bill then includes additional tip suggestions from 15-20% which could trip up a less scrupulous person“
“i couldn’t believe what an amazing tasting experience this was. hands down the best pasta in the city — their signature dish with the hand rolled pasta and the sausage sauce was incredible. i wanted to lick the bowl. they also have a famous appetizer that was like puffed fry bread topped with truffles and we did enjoy it, but it was too much to order with the tasting menu and we thought it was a little salty. the fish served with olives and — i believe fennel — was just sensational. our favorite was the pistachio dessert. and the wine pairings were perfect.“
“Popped in for a quick bite after visiting the DMV, what a great afternoon I had. Oh My Cod tacos?, slap, so good even though they were on a flour tortilla. So chill, came in around 12p on a Wednesday afternoon. Bartender was super nice, Nylah. Get the paloma, have two, you'll be feeling great. Eat the flower too. ? ?Side note the one in Lincoln Park is dope AF too. I didn't even know about this downtown location. What a win for me and my "me time" moment. By the time I left the bar was full. And the dinning area was more packed!“
“I went to LIPS with a group of family and friends for my cousin’s birthday. The performers definitely put on an amazingly entertaining show!! The food portions were a bit small for the cost but nonetheless delicious! We all had a great time!“
“Our server Santana was great, we were there for brunch and we were looking forward to some hot coffee (which they do not serve), but Santana made us some hot coffee even though it was not on the menu to welcome us. He was great in making sure that we had everything! Would go back just to have him as a server again, the food was delicious, maybe they could include hot coffee on their menu in the future.“
“Visiting for work a couple days and had some down time to kill. 1st day, met Frank.. super friendly and made me feel welcomed. Played darts with some people from Belgium. Touch tunes and drinks are priced right. Met Jeff and regular and Mark the 2nd day I came. Great dive bar!!“
“Chef! Don't ever take the short rib gnocchi off the menu! Great food and fresh pasta made daily , all served by a Fabulous wait staff! Many dedicated customers. Read these reviews! I didn't want to review because now it will be harder to get a table. They have an outdoor area in back when it's warmer.. so don't be deceived by it's size. Be sure to make a reservation! Enjoy a great dinner and drinks here and tip the staff well!Almost forgot...best calamari appetizer...Ever!Parking: Street parking not too bad. In the evening some surrounding businesses are closed. Besides, you'll probably want to walk off that cheesecake!“
“A Chicago institution. If you don't like Maria's then you probably don't like Chicago. That's fine, but why u here? Maria's is a great place to chill with a cold one. They don't have a huge tap list, but they do have a nicely curated mix of local brews. They also have old standbys like Old Style and PBR. Even on a Sunday afternoon they had good music playing. Maria's feels like home. Thats Chicago.“
“Found this place while on travel with my hubby. I was craving Italian food. This place did not disappoint like some of the other places that we went. Service was amazing our servers were attentive and the garlic bread we ordered was amazing. I wish that we had ordered more... I had the gnocchi Bolognese and hubby had ravioli both dishes were amazing. we ate so much bread we couldn't finish our food. I asked the server to give us a to go box and utensils so that we could give it to homeless person on our walk back to our hotel. Whenever we are out of town and eat out we typically like to take the rest to go and give it to someone less fortune then us because we are just going to throw it away because we wont have time to eat it before we have to go back home. Definitely would recommend this place. We plan to come back and bring our kids so we will back.“
“For our last night in Chicago, we decided to hit a couple bars and we ended up here. It was such a cute place! The atmosphere is fun and friendly. We ordered some Korean popcorn chicken and a couple cocktails. The staff was super friendly and made us laugh a bunch. Karaoke was just kicking off when we were there--Josue did a great rendition of Beautiful Soul! Would definitely recommend for a great night out. I hope that we get a chance to come back.“
“Stopped by while I was in town. I was left speechless by how good the banana pudding gelato is. Mouth watering isn’t the word. I’m not sure the name of the one owner but she’s a very nice person. Very pleasant, made my experience even more enjoyable. I’ll have to stop by again before leaving out of town.“
“Love this wine shop. It's an intimate space and seating is 1st come 1st served. They offer more than wine (liquor & beer) and they have non-alcoholic options. I discovered the Gruvi (alcohol removwd red wine) brand here. They have small bites that are actually pretty delicious. It's also a beverage depot so if you dont want to sit, pick a bottle and go!“
“Loved it!! I came across the gem from a Google search of "bars in Chicago", & based on reviews, I chose this one. All the good reviews are true! Walking in, you're immediately thrown back into time, giving you "speakeasy" vibes. The ambiance is what really sets the mood here.. dark, with intimate red lighting. The songs playing were so smooth & easy to vibe to.? Tables are first come, first serve, & there are 2 bars inside to serve each side of the restaurant. They sell appetizers, but as I didn't see anyone ordering food, I didn't either. Our waitress was attentive, & quick to bring our drinks.. which were AMAZING ?????? There was a constant influx of patrons, of all races and ages, which showed me this is a popular bar with the locals too. There was also a photo booth inside, which I thought added the cutest touch! I'll definitely return here in the near future!?????“
“We had my daughter’s baby shower today and everything was amazing! Our servers Gregory and Kosta were great! They attended to all our needs. The room we had the shower in was set up beautifully! The food was delicious as everyone said it would be that had their events there. My family had recommended Kefi as so do I for your special events. Thank you to everyone at Kefi for making it a very Special day for us!!“
“I had the corn cakes with scrambled eggs and a side of crispy french toast. The corn cakes were soft and moist like good buttermilk pancakes and had sweet corn and peppers in the batter. The savory sauce on the side was a great complement. The crispy french toast was absolute perfection. Soft and almost gooey in the center but the frosted flake coating gave it an incredible crunch. What an incredible mouth feel! In the future I'll go out of my way to get this again. My server was friendly and checked back regularly to see if I needed a coffee refill or anything else.Vegetarian options: There are lots of vegetarian options and even vegan sausage patties. Everything is clearly marked on the menu.“
“Coco Pazzo was always one of our favorite restaurants for s lovely night out. We moved away from Chicago about ten years ago and returned recently, dining at Coco Pazzo on a rainy Chicago night. It has not lost any of its luster. The ambiance was familiar but fresh. The service (thank you, Gianni and Co.) was friendly, professional and knowledgeable, a balance not always attainable. And the food was spectacular, from the focaccia, to the amuse, to the carpaccio through to the branzino and sea bass special. The branzino was delicious, deboned tableside, with wonderful textures and flavors. The seabass was equally good and somewhat heartier. The Sizilian wine we chose worked well. Desert was a chocolate fondant which topped off the meal brilliantly. We look forward to dining there again soon.“
“I was looking for a place in Chicago to watch my Cincinnati Reds Opening Day. This place was a home run! The Manager was so welcoming. She had my game on two big screens when I arrived. I met the owner who thanked me for coming and chatted me up about the Reds. Tiara and Anita, were both super attentive and so welcoming. Great place and staff! I'll be back! Thanks guys! - Bill Carigan“
“Since moving to Cicero in 2020 this has been our spot. Food is always on point, service is super friendly and they have an outdoor patio that we can bring our pup pup.Vegetarian options: There's always something vegan or vegetarian friendly.“
“Nice option for Japanese fare.Everything tasted good and fresh.Wife enjoyed her ramen and I liked my mirawase. The fried squid appetizer was also fresh and tasty.I was a little apprehensive because I can get the same meal in the suburbs for 1/3 less money.I do look forward to trying other dishes there.“
“CHILE this food was so friggin good! And 95% of the menu is gluten free! Gluten-free fried fish tacos!? Gluten-free fried chicken!? Homemade gluten-free corn tortillas!? I don't even eat ground beef but baby that ground beef taco with that homemade hard shell was heaven! And don't let me just start on the crema! It was so good I almost cried. It's not your regular grandma. They literally put love in it, it had some kind of citrus twist on it! I can drink it it was so good. And then their beverages! Lord help me! That limeade will give me diabetes if I dont exercise self control because I'm hooked!Omg I forgot about the elotes! It was sooooo delicious and full of texture and flavor. Whewww.. 10/10!“
“I got some insider information that this is one of the better dim sum places, and it did not disappoint! I was part of a larger group (7 people) so we actually got a private room which was super nice. The only reservation system is a little weird (only Monday-Thursday available to reserve online), but I just called a couple days in advance and that worked out. Dolo has a nice selection of dim sum options, especially congee. There were so many unique ones to choose from! The preserved egg congee was great, and you can't really go wrong with any of the dim sum. We ordered a couple vegetable dishes which were also great (not too oily/salty). Compared to other dim sum restaurants, I think Dolo leaned toward having less salty in general, which I loved. Would highly recommend!“
“Can’t say it enough, everything we had here was amazing! Started off with the (warm) seafood tower, which was incredible. Our server suggested one of the Wagyu steaks and that was amazing. Cocktails were great. Just everything. Epic spot.“
“This place is pretty cool!!! Appears to be a renovated church turned music venue. Very roomy for large parties, and has great architecture. The basement bathrooms are situated next to what appears to be old catacombs, but I don't know if it's just the signage that remains, or if the catacombs still exist as well.It had a old style UK church feel to it, and it was interesting enough that it felt like it holds a lot of secrets from decades (maybe centuries) ago.“
“Neighborhood institution with a lot of "local bar" vibe. Apparently the employees had just bought out the previous long-standing owner. Came here for a friend's get together. Had the black bean burger (very mildly spiced) - my first one - which was good. Service was excellent given that it was packed Saturday night. Very noisy though which made it hard to carry on a conversation.Vegetarian options: Black bean burgerParking: Although street parking was full for a Saturday night, it seemed that there was high rate of cars lvg, so ppl were able to find parking.“
“This is a historic German restaurant in Chicago and specializes both in comfort food and comfort atmosphere. We visited here during Christmas time, and the whole place was decked. The children could play games while the adults enjoyed good food. I ordered an oxtail and tasted their steak, and both were delicious. We had a party of 20 and had our own room booked with our own Christmas tree.“
“I go here 2-3 times a week to sing, drink and mingle with every customer. Everyone talks to you and the staff is the greatest line up anywhere. They love their customers and they like to have fun, as I have seen them dance to karaoke or just being silly with each other. The front deck is amazing and I can't wait for the fun meals once the kitchen is finished. I used to make this a once a year place, but now it is a must stop everytime if out for drinks. Thank you Eileen, Theresa, Karen, Darla and Tracy for making me feel welcome.“
“Best dinner experience we have had in a long time. The service was above fantastic. Attentive and knowledgeable. Knew what we needed before we did. The food was exceptional. They weren't kidding when they said the sides were shareable. My steak melted in my mouth and was made to perfection. There was not one bad meal at our table. Would definitely return again.Kid-friendliness: Our grandchildren loved the atmosphere and the food.“
“On my recent visit to Chicago me and my wife found the Shamrock and visited the bar 3 times. Every time drinks and service was first class and friendly staff and locals. Special shout out to Fabian. The wife loved Hendricks and tonic. Will definitely be returning on our next trip to Chicago to our favourite bar in Chicago.“
“Met my 3 girl cousins + spouses for the Holidays menu online was intriguing and did not disappoint! Our only mistake was going too early 11:00am. It be way better for dinner. The potato pancakes were hot and crispy. The stuffed cabbage had a tasty mushroom gravy. The goulash soup was piping hot. Hot borsch with dumplings was yummy. Service was good too. We will be back!“
“A humble looking gem in the city. Everything about this place is good. Friendly, accommodating staff, delish food, ample servings with background music that allows for normal conversation. When I'm back in that area I'll def go back.“
“The menu is rather limited and missing many staple dishes of Podhale - Baranina, Kwasnica, Oscypek, Smalec, Pstrag or Bryndza... Overall all not bad, but providing this is Chicagoland area with all the access to Polish foods, the culinary selections on your menu could be so much more specialized and refined.“
“We went for St. Patrick's Day after the kids stuff, around 7:00. Wasn't over crowded, and we got a seat at one of the long tables. Both bands delivered the goods. We were singing, dancing and having a great time until the last band finished up around 11:30. The service is superb. How they keep orders straight, mix great cocktails, don't spill in the crowd.?..all while smiling and being nice...amazing. We go often and will remain loyal.“
“It consistently remains an excellent spot for enjoying drinks, whether with family or friends, prior to or following Sox games. As one of the last original bars in Bridgeport, it holds historical significance and promises many more years of success and enjoyment to come. A must-visit spot in Bridgeport's rich history.“
“I would highly recommend fourteensixteen as it is by far the best restaurant in lagrange. The staff are amazing, the vibes are on point, and the location itself presents itself well. I got the pistachio covered lamb rack when I last went, and it was phenomenal. The dish held up well, the lamb was moist, and the sauces complimented the lamb perfectly. I also had the mango cheesecake, and I can still remember how perfect the cheesecake was. It was a perfect amount of cheesecake flavor to mango flavor. I would highly highly recommend this restaurant as I have yet to see a better one in the surrounding area.“
“We had a great time here. The cocktail menu was different and has Indian touch to various standard American fare.Portions were good sized and spice levels are mild. We had to specify “spicy” to get spice level to a “normal” level. They have decent vegetarian choices. But I wish they had some creative choices for veg entrees too“
“Amazing little bar tucked behind Midway airport. Best Polish food around! Pierogis are to die for! Goulash soup, potato pancakes,& more! They have a Polish sampler platter that has a taste of everything you could want!! Go! Eat! Enjoy!!“
“If you are a craft cocktail or spirits enthusiast, then this speakeasy spot is a must visit! Unrivaled selection of bottles, extremely knowledgeable staff, and the food is exceptional. I was lucky enough to go to Alinea the night before and had the black truffle explosion. The one served here is equally delicious! Thanks to the staff for their hospitality and I’ll definitely be back on my next trip to Chicago. Don’t forget to make a reservation since this place fills up quickly!“
“The place was NOT what you'd expect from the outside. It's a VERY CLEAN, newly decorated bar/pub table area. The food was above average! We had mushroom appetizers and burgers and they were both cooked to perfection and the fries were delicious. But what's not to love about WONDERFUL PEOPLE WHO are FRIENDLY AND KIND THAT SERVES YOU. ANN was the bartender/ waitress and she was one of the nicest people we've met in a long time. Fun conversation, feel like I've known her forever!! Everything WAS GREAT and I've been a total "Karen" lately because of so many bad places!! PUB FOOD AT IT'S BEST, a diamond in the rough!! Give it a try!!!“
“Ordered a small thin crust from uber eats juss being lazy & not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Pizza sauce is very tasty, wish I had ordered it on the side for dipping my pizza in. Just the right amount of crisp in the crust and it was cooked Just how I like it. I will definitely order from here again. The only thing I didn't like was that my pizza wasn't sealed in any type of way to prevent it from being tampered with while it was being delivered. Maybe perhaps some stickers to prevent the box from being open, or put the pizza in a paper bag then staple it up at the end. Otherwise very good pizza.“
“Much smaller than I imagined and the atmosphere wasn't my favorite upon walking in, however, the food and drinks blew us out of the water! I ordered a Michelada and it was FIRE.Food was incredible. Honestly anything on the menu you cannot go wrong.“
“Calling this place a "dive-bar" is a disservice. It's a family run neighborhood bar with the works. Good music (from an awesome preloaded jukebox), a fair selection of beer, wines, and spirits, friendly and quick service, and a very laid back and welcoming atmosphere. The mood definitely gets more upbeat and rowdy(in a good way) when there are things like bingo (Stingo) or live music performances going on, but even when those aren't happening, you can bet there's an interesting film being played on their TV. The owner Steve runs a tight ship, and it shows. I urge anyone passing by or new to the area to come grab a beer on a weekend or weekday night (except Tuesdays because I don't think they're open those days). You're guaranteed to run into the colorful characters that make up the Bridgeport community. I live in the Midway area, and the drive to get here is more than worth the trip. Stop by, grab a beer, order some Japanese food from next door (or tacos across the street) and start a conversation. You'll be hooked immediately and won't regret it ✨“
“Had to find a laundromat late on a Monday night. So went in here to have a drink while I waited for clothes to dry. The bartender Denise was working, very nice person behind the bar. You have a fine worker here at this establishment. I will remember this!“
