I would have ordered water if she would have told me before pouring it and taking my money off the bar. She was super sweet though, she didn't do it maliciously.“

“I go here 2-3 times a week to sing, drink and mingle with every customer. Everyone talks to you and the staff is the greatest line up anywhere. They love their customers and they like to have fun, as I have seen them dance to karaoke or just being silly with each other. I also had the mango cheesecake, and I can still remember how perfect the cheesecake was. It was a perfect amount of cheesecake flavor to mango flavor. “Ordered a small thin crust from uber eats juss being lazy & not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Pizza sauce is very tasty, wish I had ordered it on the side for dipping my pizza in. Just the right amount of crisp in the crust and it was cooked Just how I like it. I will definitely order from here again. The only thing I didn't like was that my pizza wasn't sealed in any type of way to prevent it from being tampered with while it was being delivered. Maybe perhaps some stickers to prevent the box from being open, or put the pizza in a paper bag then staple it up at the end. Otherwise very good pizza.“

Needless to say, I have been to The Works Tavern a few times and it's some of the best food in Chicago, especially on the south side. Mike is a culinary expert and my last visit proved it. I legitimately had the best Philly Cheesesteak I've ever had. The steak was juicy, the bread was soft and the cheese was super cheesy (10/10).The food is always fresh, the beer is always cold and my kids love the pizza! “This place is tops!!! Absolutely great food in a hole in the wall bar. It has a "bar" vibe, but don't let that dissuade you. We will even bring our kids here during the day. My favorite item is the flame burger, made as a chicken sandwich (you can substitute chicken for burger), with fries and ranch. Would often come here for date nights and would also get carry out anytime I was in the area. It's just delicious food. They will also do some seasonal cocktails, which are fun to try, and always have good prices.“
