Kim's Home Cooking Reviews
Bibimbap, bulgogi kimbop and bulgogi were great. The fried chicken wings although very good the sauces overpowered the chicken.
And the bonchan were also great. Will definitely be going back.
Everything tasted delicious! The tempura, popcorn chicken, and all the sides were fantastic. The staff were warm and attentive, treating us really well. I’ll definitely be going back in the future
talk about delicious…
this place is up there with Cho Sun Ok, which i consider the best korean in the city.
lowkey, but dangerous. the fried chicken especially. Japchae has so much flavor, and the Galbi is TOP TIER. ate most of it before i took a picture haha.
putting this in my top korean recommendations in Chicago.

Kim's Home Cooking is a Korean restaurant that provides a warm and casual dining experience. The food is fresh and flavorful, with popular dishes like kimchi jjigae, tuna kimbap, and highly recommended chicken wings, particularly the mango habanero wings. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable, making it a great spot for those on a budget. The atmosphere is laid-back and simple, run by a friendly older couple. Customers often appreciate the strong taste of home cooking in every dish, served quickly and piping hot. The staff are likely the hardworking owners, delivering efficient service, though it may not always feel particularly friendly. As a small, family-owned business, Kim's values hospitality and good Korean eats. While the ambiance is simple and quiet, often without music, the focus remains on delicious food at affordable prices. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to enjoy hearty Korean food in a cozy, no-frills setting, perfect for anyone looking for nutritious meals.
