“Tasty, fresh, authentic alternative to the offerings along the Noyes Street mini restaurant row. The Bibimbop wasn't the big bowl I was expecting but it was prettily assembled and well prepared. The bite-sized mandu with a sweet soy dipping sauce were very tasty indeed. Would return to try other Korean offerings.“

“I have dined here four separate times within the past two weeks because the Korean dishes here are extremely delicious, always prepared with love from the female Korean Chef who is also the owner and everything I ordered was delectable.
I've tried the beef bulgogi rice bowl and the chef was kind enough to give me a tiny bowl of broth to go with it including homemade kimchi and I've also tried the beef Bibimbap and Seafood Sundubu. Of all three dishes the Sundubu was definitely the spiciest so if you love spicy dishes you won't be disappointed with the spice level.
Last time I dined the chef even included a tiny salad with my meal with homemade dressing.
Everything is delicious here and the prices are extremely affordable for the lunch hour specials. Service is fast and friendly and a 15% tip is built in.
You won't be disappointed in anything you order!“

“Lovely Korean karaoke pub with solid food, spacious rooms, and great service. The only downside was that the karaoke setup runs through YouTube instead of the classic karaoke systems with built-in music videos and. It still worked fine, but part of the nostalgic karaoke fun was missing a bit.“

“Our Saturday lunch at Rice’N Bread was great. They have a tight menu of Korean and Western diner style food. We had the Buldak and Spicy Yang Nyum Chicken that were generous portions with rice and coleslaw and very tasty. Efficient service. Well priced. The washroom situation is a little different, walking through the tight kitchen. There is a liquor store next door for BYOB. A great find in the neighborhood. No frills, just good authentic food.“

“talk about delicious…
this place is up there with Cho Sun Ok, which i consider the best korean in the city.
lowkey, but dangerous. the fried chicken especially. Japchae has so much flavor, and the Galbi is TOP TIER. ate most of it before i took a picture haha.
putting this in my top korean recommendations in Chicago.“

“Ate there for the first time tonight. I am vegan and my husband is an Omni. Chef Bill came out and waited on us personally, and gave us menu recommendations, all of which were delicious! The ambiance was so relaxing and peaceful; it was a nice respite from a busy day and I didn’t want to leave. Reasonably priced as well: shared appetizer, two teas, two entrees, and two desserts was $60. Will definitely be back for many more dinners!“

“Kimchi Pop by Chef Son is an absolute culinary treasure that consistently serves up exceptionally authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented Korean cuisine. From the first bite, you can tell that the food is crafted with immense passion, high-quality ingredients, and a deep respect for traditional flavors—every dish is consistently delicious and deeply satisfying. I place an incredibly high premium on kitchen and dining room cleanliness, and I am consistently impressed by how immaculate, well-organized, and professionally maintained their space is; it is clear that they hold themselves to the highest standards of hygiene and order. The staff is warm, incredibly welcoming, and provides top-tier service that makes you feel like a valued guest from start to finish. If you are looking for a fantastic, reliable, and high-standard dining experience that truly prioritizes both flavor and professional cleanliness, I cannot recommend this spot highly enough!“

I would definitely recommend coming here. It's a unique place. Make sure you book though ad it can be busy.“

“been here a few times, each is better experience that the last, attempt to try most of their items on menu. So far, my favorite is their Mango smoothies with cloud cheese, as drink. Their cloud cheese is really good and a balance of salty taste with the sweetness of the mango, the tapioca in the drinks is plentiful but not overpowering the water content. I had it in other Chinatown restaurants, some had too many tapiocas that my teeth were tired chewing them. Cuckoo is not. Their Don (Japanese rice bowls) and their bibimbap (Korean rice bowls) are excellent. Have not decide which is better because each have their own uniqueness and tastes; I had 2 types of their bibimbap before and only 1 type of their Don. So far, I am leaning towards the Don but there is excellent amount of veggie in their Bibimbap, which is ideal for weigh concise person. Wish they have a loyal customer rewards style of drinks incentives, much like some restaurants, for example, buy 9 and get 1 free drink, or some % off after 5 drink purchases, and give customers an advertisable nice pocket size reward card to keep track of their purchases. That may also work with food item purchases as well. Crossing my fingers that this may happen soon. With summer in Chicago, cool refreshing drinks is ideal and as loyal customers, return for more drink purchases with rewards will be even better.“

“It's a tragedy that this restaurant has any rating below 4.9 stars. Best seollongtang I've had in a long time, and it beats out a lot of places even in Korea. I fully intend on coming many more times while I live in Chicago because the owners fully deserve it.“

“Dancen is the kind of Chicago restaurant where the food, atmosphere, and experience all come together. Rather than a polished, upscale Korean dining room, Dancen embraces the lively character of a traditional Korean drinking spot, with an intimate setting, sizzling grilled dishes, bold flavors, and an energetic late night vibe. The fiery buldak fire chicken topped with melted cheese, paired with an assortment of grilled skewers, is an ideal introduction to what makes this place special. In one sentence: Dancen is a quintessential Lincoln Square Korean pub where flame charred fire chicken, smoky grilled skewers, bold Korean flavors, and late night energy create an experience that feels authentic, exciting, and distinctly Chicago.“

“If you’re checking the reviews to see which spot is best to eat at I recommend you give this place a shot.
I’ve tried almost every spot outside of the chicken spot in the front and I have to say that what a dumpling is by far my favorite. Reminds me of my grandmas and mother’s food. Homemade dumplings and the broth tasted great. It’s a complete different texture compared to the frozen ones.
The Noona that worked there was great as well and I observed that all the customers that ordered from there were satisfied as well. When you see empty plates and bowls you know that’s a good sign.
Support this business! :) I got the traditional one. No 7 I believe.“

“Not recommended if gluten-free but this place is tasty and the owners are lovely. I eat gluten-free presently, and the menu has land mines. The pancake that's included has wheat. Some of the noodle dishes have egg/wheat noodles, so be careful with those as well.“

“We were so excited to have found this new place for yummy sushi poke bowl! We adore that modernized look of the restaurant and there are a lot of variety of poke bowls to choose from. My boys like the mushroom and California rolls sushi while I enjoyed the spicy hot fish poke bowl a lot. The staff and owner were super friendly and nice. The place was stylish, neat and clean. The sashimi was fresh and delicious! The food was served fast and the price was reasonable too. We are definitely coming back!“

“Outstanding Service and Delicious Food!
I had a wonderful experience at CM Chicken Kimball! The gentleman who helped me was incredibly kind and welcoming. He greeted me with a huge smile, was extremely respectful throughout my visit, and even walked me out the door as he herded me my order and thanking me.I highly appreciate that level of genuine hospitality.
As for the food, it was outstanding! I ordered the wings with Korean sauce, as well as the wings with the white cream and onions. Both flavors were absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. I will definitely be coming back here. Highly recommended!“

“It was my 1st time eating Korean BBQ. The food was delicious and it's fun to have the BBQ cooked at your table. I loved all the side dishes and all 3 types of meat we had were very tasty and tender. I didn't find the staff to be very friendly, that would have made the atmosphere so much better. I felt the price was unexpectedly high but it was definitely something I would do again.“

“Absolute 10/10 across the board. Sat at the bar with my wife, and Arturo was our waiter/bartender. He was fantastic and we pretty much let him decide the fate of the meal. We went with all his recs: Korean fried chicken, scallion pancake, and bulgogi bibimbap. Also the cocktails were amazing and we tried a new liquor weve never had, Korean rice beer, Makgeolli“

“My wife and I were so happy to visit this Korean restaurant when we were craving some Korean food. The chilly weather was just the right setting to enjoy some warming Korean soups, and we were really looking forward to trying it out.
To make sure we didn’t miss anything, I had already looked over the menu and made my choice.
Overall, we had great service, and the food was absolutely delicious. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying their other soups, which I’m sure are just as amazing.“

“I ordered the spicy garlic chicken tenders and oh man were they delicious. The portion is large, definitely enough for 2. The tenders themselves are on the smaller side which makes for a perfect ratio of chicken to crisp to flavor. I also ordered curly fries which came out super hot and crispy. Those were delicious but the price was a little high.
The place is cute and comfortable, very clean. The service was great. The woman working the register and tables was super sweet.“

“I recently had a chance to stop into H-mart to do a bit of grocery shopping and grab some food from the food court. I ordered the beef bone soup, and it was a really comforting and satisfying meal. The broth was rich and milky with a deep, savory flavor, and the beef was tender and well-portioned for the price. It’s a simple dish but done really well. Definitely something I’d come back for.“

“The toast and dogs are amazing. French fries are crisp and delicious. We also tried the boba tea and it was good. Limited seating was a bit difficult but it is inside a store. “We had steamed dumplings as an appetizer, and each ordered the hot stone bibim bap. The dumplings were perfect to tide us over until bibim bap arrived. The dumplings sauce was nice, but it could stand some additional spiciness. Remember to ask for the hot sauce to add to the sauce next time.
We also really enjoyed my favorite dish, bibim nap with it's variety of bulgogi beef, bean sprouts, spinach, etc and a generous amount of the gojujan sauce on the side. The small side dishes with pickled daikon radish, kim chi, marinated potatoes and marinated gluten always add additional flavors and textures the already delicious bibim bap.
I would recommend this restaurant for its flavorful and generous Korean dishes, good service, and homey feel to the place.“
