“I have dined here four separate times within the past two weeks because the Korean dishes here are extremely delicious, always prepared with love from the female Korean Chef who is also the owner and everything I ordered was delectable.

I've tried the beef bulgogi rice bowl and the chef was kind enough to give me a tiny bowl of broth to go with it including homemade kimchi and I've also tried the beef Bibimbap and Seafood Sundubu. Of all three dishes the Sundubu was definitely the spiciest so if you love spicy dishes you won't be disappointed with the spice level.

Last time I dined the chef even included a tiny salad with my meal with homemade dressing.

Everything is delicious here and the prices are extremely affordable for the lunch hour specials. Service is fast and friendly and a 15% tip is built in.

“Ate there for the first time tonight. I am vegan and my husband is an Omni. Chef Bill came out and waited on us personally, and gave us menu recommendations, all of which were delicious! The ambiance was so relaxing and peaceful; it was a nice respite from a busy day and I didn’t want to leave. Reasonably priced as well: shared appetizer, two teas, two entrees, and two desserts was $60. Will definitely be back for many more dinners!“

“Our Saturday lunch at Rice’N Bread was great. They have a tight menu of Korean and Western diner style food. We had the Buldak and Spicy Yang Nyum Chicken that were generous portions with rice and coleslaw and very tasty. Efficient service. Well priced. The washroom situation is a little different, walking through the tight kitchen. There is a liquor store next door for BYOB. A great find in the neighborhood. No frills, just good authentic food.“

“This place has become one of our absolute favorite Korean restaurants.

The first time I came here, I tried the beef soup and loved it so much that it was my favorite dish for months. Then I discovered the bibimbap, and that became my new favorite for months too. Today I tried the spicy beef hangover soup, and once again, I was completely amazed.

The food is consistently delicious, comforting, and full of flavor, but what really makes this place special is the people. Every time we come here, they treat us with so much kindness and warmth that we genuinely feel like family.

It’s rare to find a restaurant where you keep discovering a new favorite dish and, at the same time, feel so welcome every time you walk through the door.

“We had a fabulous dinner last night at Chicago Kalbi with Cummins Peru, Komat'su, and the VPs from Antimina copper mine.

Such a great place, where you cook the wagyu & kobe beef at your table. The food was delicious ?

Isao Tozuka, the chef and his wife Chiyo-san, are fabulous hosts, very friendly, and really happy to help and show you how things are do e.

I would definitely recommend coming here. It's a unique place. Make sure you book though ad it can be busy.“

“been here a few times, each is better experience that the last, attempt to try most of their items on menu. So far, my favorite is their Mango smoothies with cloud cheese, as drink. Their cloud cheese is really good and a balance of salty taste with the sweetness of the mango, the tapioca in the drinks is plentiful but not overpowering the water content. I had it in other Chinatown restaurants, some had too many tapiocas that my teeth were tired chewing them. Cuckoo is not. Their Don (Japanese rice bowls) and their bibimbap (Korean rice bowls) are excellent. Have not decide which is better because each have their own uniqueness and tastes; I had 2 types of their bibimbap before and only 1 type of their Don. So far, I am leaning towards the Don but there is excellent amount of veggie in their Bibimbap, which is ideal for weigh concise person. Wish they have a loyal customer rewards style of drinks incentives, much like some restaurants, for example, buy 9 and get 1 free drink, or some % off after 5 drink purchases, and give customers an advertisable nice pocket size reward card to keep track of their purchases. That may also work with food item purchases as well. Crossing my fingers that this may happen soon. With summer in Chicago, cool refreshing drinks is ideal and as loyal customers, return for more drink purchases with rewards will be even better.“

I’ve tried almost every spot outside of the chicken spot in the front and I have to say that what a dumpling is by far my favorite. Reminds me of my grandmas and mother’s food. Homemade dumplings and the broth tasted great. It’s a complete different texture compared to the frozen ones.

The Noona that worked there was great as well and I observed that all the customers that ordered from there were satisfied as well. When you see empty plates and bowls you know that’s a good sign.

“This is by far our favorite Korean restaurant in the Chicagoland area. We drive about 40 minutes to eat here because the food is authentic, delicious, and affordable! It's owned by a Korean husband/wife team. It's not fancy, but I feel at home everytime. I highly recommend it!!“

“We ordered a big random platter of assorted wings, tenders, Korean Bulgogi, and assorted apps. The food was all amazing. The wings were big and perfectly cooked. The Bulgogi was the show stopper for me. I could eat that bulgogi every day (both pork and chicken were equally good). We ordered a huge order from the kiosk in the store and waited only 15 minutes for all of it (nice K-pop videos entertaining us). A couple of Chicago's finest police officers came in for wings too. This will be my new go to Wings and Korean food source. The staff were very friendly too.“

“We were so excited to have found this new place for yummy sushi poke bowl! We adore that modernized look of the restaurant and there are a lot of variety of poke bowls to choose from. My boys like the mushroom and California rolls sushi while I enjoyed the spicy hot fish poke bowl a lot. The staff and owner were super friendly and nice. The place was stylish, neat and clean. “This is my favorite Korean BBQ restaurant in Chicago! I first came here two years ago, and after finally coming back, the food still makes me just as happy as I remembered.

Even though my hotel was quite far from the restaurant, I knew I had to come back because I missed the flavors of their food so much. The ladies here are always very busy, but they still take such wonderful care of their customers and make you feel welcome.

“I recently had a chance to stop into H-mart to do a bit of grocery shopping and grab some food from the food court. I ordered the beef bone soup, and it was a really comforting and satisfying meal. The broth was rich and milky with a deep, savory flavor, and the beef was tender and well-portioned for the price. It’s a simple dish but done really well. Definitely something I’d come back for.“
