“If you are looking for authentic and truly delicious Korean comfort food, Soban Korea is an absolutely fantastic choice. The menu offers a great variety of traditional dishes, and everything we ordered tasted incredibly fresh. I highly recommend trying their dolsot bibimbap or the beef bulgogi; the meats are marinated perfectly, very tender, and packed with savory flavor. The complimentary banchan (small side dishes) are also generous, diverse, and a wonderful addition to the main meal. The atmosphere inside is casual, clean, and welcoming, while the staff is exceptionally attentive and quick to refill drinks and sides without even having to ask. It is a consistently great spot for a satisfying and flavorful dining experience. I will definitely be returning!“

“I have dined here four separate times within the past two weeks because the Korean dishes here are extremely delicious, always prepared with love from the female Korean Chef who is also the owner and everything I ordered was delectable.
I've tried the beef bulgogi rice bowl and the chef was kind enough to give me a tiny bowl of broth to go with it including homemade kimchi and I've also tried the beef Bibimbap and Seafood Sundubu. Of all three dishes the Sundubu was definitely the spiciest so if you love spicy dishes you won't be disappointed with the spice level.
Last time I dined the chef even included a tiny salad with my meal with homemade dressing.
Everything is delicious here and the prices are extremely affordable for the lunch hour specials. Service is fast and friendly and a 15% tip is built in.
You won't be disappointed in anything you order!“

“Lovely Korean karaoke pub with solid food, spacious rooms, and great service. The only downside was that the karaoke setup runs through YouTube instead of the classic karaoke systems with built-in music videos and. It still worked fine, but part of the nostalgic karaoke fun was missing a bit.“

“Our Saturday lunch at Rice’N Bread was great. They have a tight menu of Korean and Western diner style food. We had the Buldak and Spicy Yang Nyum Chicken that were generous portions with rice and coleslaw and very tasty. Efficient service. Well priced. The washroom situation is a little different, walking through the tight kitchen. There is a liquor store next door for BYOB. A great find in the neighborhood. No frills, just good authentic food.“

lowkey, but dangerous. the fried chicken especially. Japchae has so much flavor, and the Galbi is TOP TIER. ate most of it before i took a picture haha.
putting this in my top korean recommendations in Chicago.“

Such a great place, where you cook the wagyu & kobe beef at your table. The food was delicious ?

I would definitely recommend coming here. It's a unique place. Make sure you book though ad it can be busy.“

“been here a few times, each is better experience that the last, attempt to try most of their items on menu. So far, my favorite is their Mango smoothies with cloud cheese, as drink. Their cloud cheese is really good and a balance of salty taste with the sweetness of the mango, the tapioca in the drinks is plentiful but not overpowering the water content. I had it in other Chinatown restaurants, some had too many tapiocas that my teeth were tired chewing them. Cuckoo is not. Their Don (Japanese rice bowls) and their bibimbap (Korean rice bowls) are excellent. Have not decide which is better because each have their own uniqueness and tastes; I had 2 types of their bibimbap before and only 1 type of their Don. So far, I am leaning towards the Don but there is excellent amount of veggie in their Bibimbap, which is ideal for weigh concise person. Wish they have a loyal customer rewards style of drinks incentives, much like some restaurants, for example, buy 9 and get 1 free drink, or some % off after 5 drink purchases, and give customers an advertisable nice pocket size reward card to keep track of their purchases. That may also work with food item purchases as well. Crossing my fingers that this may happen soon. With summer in Chicago, cool refreshing drinks is ideal and as loyal customers, return for more drink purchases with rewards will be even better.“

“This was honestly the best chicken feet I’ve had in Chicago! The flavor was so good that I know I’ll keep coming back just for the 숯불닭발 alone.
We also ordered the clam soup, and the spicy yet refreshing broth was absolutely amazing. If you add udon noodles to the soup, it takes it to another level! 👍👍
The owner was incredibly kind, and the service was fast and attentive throughout the whole meal. Every visit here has been a great experience. Highly recommend!🔥👍“

“As a Korean, this is my go-to Korean soup spot in the Chicago area. Cash only, no huge spread of side dishes but this place keeps it simple and lets its incredible kimchi and kkakdugi do the talking. If you want an authentic Korean dining experience, I highly recommend it.“

“If you’re checking the reviews to see which spot is best to eat at I recommend you give this place a shot.
I’ve tried almost every spot outside of the chicken spot in the front and I have to say that what a dumpling is by far my favorite. Reminds me of my grandmas and mother’s food. Homemade dumplings and the broth tasted great. It’s a complete different texture compared to the frozen ones.
The Noona that worked there was great as well and I observed that all the customers that ordered from there were satisfied as well. When you see empty plates and bowls you know that’s a good sign.
Support this business! :) I got the traditional one. No 7 I believe.“

“I really enjoyed both the Bulgogi Soy Pork and the Jeyuk Spicy Pork! The portions were generous, the prices were very reasonable, and the owner was incredibly friendly. What I loved the most was how quickly the food was prepared—I received my order in about five minutes. Even after bringing it home and eating it 30 minutes later, it was still warm and delicious. I truly appreciate the excellent quality at such an affordable price and would highly recommend it!“

“Kimchi Pop by Chef Son is an absolute culinary treasure that consistently serves up exceptionally authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented Korean cuisine. From the first bite, you can tell that the food is crafted with immense passion, high-quality ingredients, and a deep respect for traditional flavors—every dish is consistently delicious and deeply satisfying. I place an incredibly high premium on kitchen and dining room cleanliness, and I am consistently impressed by how immaculate, well-organized, and professionally maintained their space is; it is clear that they hold themselves to the highest standards of hygiene and order. “Absolute 10/10 across the board. Sat at the bar with my wife, and Arturo was our waiter/bartender. He was fantastic and we pretty much let him decide the fate of the meal. We went with all his recs: Korean fried chicken, scallion pancake, and bulgogi bibimbap. Also the cocktails were amazing and we tried a new liquor weve never had, Korean rice beer, Makgeolli“

“My wife and I were so happy to visit this Korean restaurant when we were craving some Korean food. The chilly weather was just the right setting to enjoy some warming Korean soups, and we were really looking forward to trying it out.
To make sure we didn’t miss anything, I had already looked over the menu and made my choice.
Overall, we had great service, and the food was absolutely delicious. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying their other soups, which I’m sure are just as amazing.“

“Among the restaurants in Chicago suburban, there were many good reviews, so I visited there for the first time with my wife. There was a little waiting time, maybe because it was the weekend, but the staff organized the table quickly, so I was able to sit down without waiting for long. The 'banchan' prepared when I ordered and waited for the food felt good about the type and taste and made me look forward to the main dish even more. Finally, the food I ordered arrived, and I was surprised at the amount that the chef thought I had made a mistake and decided when I tasted the food that was well-baked on the grill. 'I'll have to bring my parents next time!' And finally, while the servers are busy, their kindness in customer service remains very impressive.“

“I recently had a chance to stop into H-mart to do a bit of grocery shopping and grab some food from the food court. I ordered the beef bone soup, and it was a really comforting and satisfying meal. The broth was rich and milky with a deep, savory flavor, and the beef was tender and well-portioned for the price. It’s a simple dish but done really well. Definitely something I’d come back for.“

“The toast and dogs are amazing. French fries are crisp and delicious. We also tried the boba tea and it was good. Limited seating was a bit difficult but it is inside a store. A sign said tanghulu so we have it a try. It was frozen solid and almost impossible to eat. If delicious eat here again but probably pass on the tanghulu.“

“A true hidden gem for comforting, home-style Korean food, tucked inside Joong Boo Market and reminiscent of a classic Korean food stall. It’s no-frills, just hearty dishes with great quality at an excellent value. We especially loved the codfish soup and tteokbokki. It’s always a treat to grab some groceries and enjoy a quick bite at the snack corner.“

“Not recommended if gluten-free but this place is tasty and the owners are lovely. I eat gluten-free presently, and the menu has land mines. The pancake that's included has wheat. Some of the noodle dishes have egg/wheat noodles, so be careful with those as well.“

“We were so excited to have found this new place for yummy sushi poke bowl! We adore that modernized look of the restaurant and there are a lot of variety of poke bowls to choose from. My boys like the mushroom and California rolls sushi while I enjoyed the spicy hot fish poke bowl a lot. The staff and owner were super friendly and nice. The place was stylish, neat and clean. The sashimi was fresh and delicious! The food was served fast and the price was reasonable too. We are definitely coming back!“

“We had steamed dumplings as an appetizer, and each ordered the hot stone bibim bap. The dumplings were perfect to tide us over until bibim bap arrived. The dumplings sauce was nice, but it could stand some additional spiciness. Remember to ask for the hot sauce to add to the sauce next time.
We also really enjoyed my favorite dish, bibim nap with it's variety of bulgogi beef, bean sprouts, spinach, etc and a generous amount of the gojujan sauce on the side. The small side dishes with pickled daikon radish, kim chi, marinated potatoes and marinated gluten always add additional flavors and textures the already delicious bibim bap.
I would recommend this restaurant for its flavorful and generous Korean dishes, good service, and homey feel to the place.“

“It was my 1st time eating Korean BBQ. The food was delicious and it's fun to have the BBQ cooked at your table. I loved all the side dishes and all 3 types of meat we had were very tasty and tender. I didn't find the staff to be very friendly, that would have made the atmosphere so much better. I felt the price was unexpectedly high but it was definitely something I would do again.“

“Ate there for the first time tonight. I am vegan and my husband is an Omni. Chef Bill came out and waited on us personally, and gave us menu recommendations, all of which were delicious! The ambiance was so relaxing and peaceful; it was a nice respite from a busy day and I didn’t want to leave. Reasonably priced as well: shared appetizer, two teas, two entrees, and two desserts was $60. Will definitely be back for many more dinners!“
