The salad and asparagus were so refreshing and brought the perfect balance to our meal. I can’t wait to come back!! “I stayed at the Graduate in Evanston for a few days in July. I really liked the vintage style of the hotel building, and the friendly staff, but I was dismayed at how cold it was in the hotel because of the excessive air conditioning. I turned it off in our room as soon as we arrived and the temperature remained comfortable there during our whole stay. It seemed to me that the AC in the lobby, the restaurant, and the bar was actually set to a lower temperature than the heating would be in the winter. And there was a fire in the fireplace, with temperatures in the 80s and 90s outside and AC on! The Graduate Hotel management seems to be ignoring how important saving energy is right now, in light of global warming. Their blatant disregard for the environment sent a shiver down my spine in more than one way.”

“3rd time here and might have been the best. Friday night and it was buzzing. We were able to get bar seats and ate there, which was perfect. Live music, food was delish (braised chicken is just so delicious), and everyone on the service team is happy and helpful. This is a fav and we're thankful Evanston is the home of Nakorn!”

“Unreal! We accidentally fell upon this place this morning and upon entering my jaw dropped and mouth started watering instantly. We ordered a big bag full of both savory and sweet pastries and we ate everything while making lots of mmmmmm sounds throughout. The coffee is great too. We are just visiting Chicago and leave tomorrow but are planning on dropping by again for one more visit before taking off back to Kentucky. All of the pastries and goodies are the perfect blend of flaky and crunchy and gooey and soft and all the right places with a different taste in every bite! Yuummmmmmm....”

“Our group visited to watch NCAA tournament basketball. Plenty of TVs to casually watch games. First time at Double Clutch. I drank the rauchbeir lager they had on tap. Very unique and great balance. I also tried the house pilsner, equally good. Double Clutch can brew. But what about food? DC gets the food right too! I got pesto chicken sandwich w/sidewinders. Very tasty taken on the chicken sandwich. We all liked our food. The service was on point as well. Comfortable table and bar seating throughout. If you like cars, they have a bunch of unique cars on display. A great find, looking forward to our next visit.”

“We visited this amazing establishment last night and ordered the filet and the Manhattan strip for our entrées with a side of the mushrooms, and it was possibly one of the best steaks we had had. Our server and Jesse was wonderful, and when he wasn’t available home, there was another manager who came and brought items out, so there was no delay in service while he was attending another customer and socialized at the table. We dined outside on the patio underneath the heat lamp and lights. The Barn was the perfect atmosphere for our relaxing evening together. We were very pleased with all that we ordered as well as the service. We would highly recommend the Barn restaurant to others.”

“I dined at Oceanique for my birthday during Restaurant Week, so my friend and I enjoyed a special three-course menu. I had the striped bass and my friend had swordfish. We finished with the pot de crème. Everything was a-maz-ing! Harry was our waiter, and the service was impeccable.”

“They hook it up with the bowls!!! Can feed me for at least 2 meals, and all the ingredients are so fresh and flavorful. Obviously as everyone has already said, the arepas are delicious, I have also enjoyed thier tacos. Tip, I love to top my bowl with the arepa CHIPS and the pico that comes with it. Never dined in, but delivery is always speedy and everything arrives correct, neatly packaged and hot! I believe the owners moved here from New Orleans, and they have added such a fantastic and fun option to the roto. We literally order every week! These folks are clearly paying attention and care a whole lot about the high quality food they are serving to the community.Dietary restrictions: I believe their menu is largely gluten free.”

“Another "not my first time here, but first Google Review" for this place! Been going here ever since their first day but not as frequently as imagined. They definitely have some unique beers as well as fun events throughout the years, one notably was an outdoor hip hop concert with Twista, Big Boi and Sleepy Brown, which was 1yr post-COVID. Recently went for their whopping 10 year anniversary (Fri 12/15/23) and the beers were absolutely and generously flowing. They opened up the back for a nice 80s cover band concert and also had pop up food and wine vendors. Videos here of that night. Whether for an event or not, this brewery is worth coming back to again and again.”

“I recently dined at this delightful Japanese/Thai fusion restaurant, and it was a flavor-packed experience. The Spicy Creamy Tom Yum Noodle broth was rich, tangy, and had just the right amount of heat. The egg noodles were perfectly cooked, and the fragrant aromatics—garlic, chilies, and kaffir lime leaves—elevated the dish. And fav dish was Yakiniku don. The savory-sweet yakiniku sauce tied everything together. It was comfort food at its finest. The Beef Tongue was our adventurous choice. Thinly sliced and grilled, it had a unique texture—tender but slightly chewy. The marinade was flavorful, and the hotstone grill made it even more enjoyable (10/10 for this dish!!)”

“So the food was good but we were disappointed that the salud style tacos didn’t come on blue masa tortilla like it said on the menu and they were unfortunately out of the Empanadas De Yuca which was the thing we were the most looking forward too.Also we were not served any rice or beans which I’m not sure if that is still a thing here but on the menu I have it said this.I definitely recommend the fried Elote it was absolutely amazing an I would definitely get it again.Drinks were good definitely recommend the lavender mojitos and the Mexican mule drink.”

“There are three locations near our house, but this is the only one that does ice cream cakes. My daughter wanted one for her birthday and online ordering was easy and convenient. Hubby's birthday was the month after and he wanted one too! Again, easy ordering and both were ready as promised. No complaints. They are a Dunkin Donuts too and have a drive thru. They take coupons and honor their rewards program for great deals.”

“My boyfriend has been wanting to take me to Cross-Rhodes forever as they have one is his favorite burgers; The Rhodes Burger, which is a half pound burger patty with cheese, topped with gyros meat on a sesame seed bun. It sits on a bed of steak cut Greek fries, which are equally loved. It's a big burger and will keep you full for most of the day. He asked for it to be cooked medium, and it was perfectly medium. I took a couple of bites, and the meat was so soft and juicy and the gyros was perfectly crispy. They don't skimp on the gyros. I ordered chicken souvlaki with grilled vegetables and tzatziki sauce. Chicken kabob in general is pretty similar from restaurant to restaurant, but their chicken kabob was one that I especially enjoyed. It had great flavor, wasn't dry, but also wasn't swimming in juice and had a beautiful char. I love a char on my meats, so it was pretty hard to not finish my plate. The tzatziki was very good - thick, with good flavor and not overly garlicky. The service was wonderful. We were greeted upon arrival and as we left by who I assume was the owner. Our waitress was very sweet and personable and made you feel right at home. Very cozy place. If you're in the area, be sure to give it a try.”

“Tomate Fresh continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in Evanston. Considering prices and quality, few restaurants compare in my eyes. There's no in-house seating, but it's ready so fast and it's so delicious that there's no need to linger. (It's also across the street from a park for an easy picnic.) My favorite dishes include anything with their black beans and grilled cheese combination (not a grilled cheese sandwich, but just a glorious pile of crispy cheese). Make your day instantly better with a visit to Tomate! Thanks, Tomate. I love you.Vegetarian options: Tomate Fresh gives vegetarians a lot to consider! In either burrito, Taco, or gordita form, one can choose: tofu, black beans, sweet potato, yucca, spicy mushroom, or carmelized onion filling. There are also, on occasion, vegetarian empanadas and tamales. These veg options don't even consider the quesadilla options (like sweet potato or spicy mushroom) or the salads on their menu. It's a refreshing change from only having one or two veg options at a restaurant.”

The guacamole is perfect in every way: texture, taste - and quantity! I loved my camarones (shrimp) burrito, too. It had big shrimp throughout the burrito, not just a couple tiny ones thrown in to call it a “shrimp” burrito, and had a good mix of beans, grilled veggies and sour cream that all came together deliciously. It will be a regular stop for me!”

“I had ordered a custom ice cream cake for my child's upcoming birthday through the online website. It was the Oreo sandwich cake. When I went to pick it up the cake was missing the oreo sandwich decorations on the top (one of the main reasons my child picked the cake). The staff said they can add the missing decorations and the cake would be ready the next day at noon. So I just got back from picking up the cake and to my surprise they went above and beyond to fix it. They have me a brand new cake that looked exactly like the picture online! And they let me keep the first cake that was missing the decorations. I highly recommend this location for the friendly staff and superb customer service! “I've driven past this place so many times and I finally decided to try it out. Only carry-out and delivery right now with the pandemic. I ordered 2 Big Island Classic burgers, 1 smokehouse burger, and another basic burger with one small cheese fry. It took 25-30min for preparation. This seems to be a 2 man operation (dad and maybe his daughter) and it was at prime lunchtime. I didn't realize the description online said the island and smokehouse burgers were on french bread so that was a surprise but not bad. Personally, we weren't the biggest fans of how the burgers were cooked, charred and well-done, but the toppings were great and my sister said the ketchup to mayo ratio on hers was perfect! The cheddar fries are Merkt's cheddar which I now know isn't my favorite but for those that like Merkt's, there is lots of it and covers all the fries. Thanks for lunch, Little Island :-)”

We ordered the tomato, lorraine, smoked salmon, and ratatouille quiches, as well as the flan, napoleon, and lemon meringue. “My son’s birthday party was reptile themed and he picked out a cake he saw on the web with a snake on top. I called around local bakeries and none quoted me as reasonably as ST did. He also wanted all choc cake and filling, which I worried would be an overload and too sweet from past experiences. The bakery was able to do it in just a few days notice and it turned out even BETTER looking than the one we provided as the idea. They took the time to put more details than the photo and the snake on top was truly a great work of art. The inside was moist and delicious, I was so pleased that they didn’t overdo the chocolate and made it rich and creamy rather than too much after a slice. Everyone had seconds and it was a hit. Hats off to the decorators who knew exactly how to make it right!”

“Wonderful stay at the Graduate Evanston. A prime location - blocks from shopping and the beautiful lake. The bar and homestead room were super cozy with nice food and drinks. The hotel put nice touches on the smaller details that made the stay comfortable. Appreciated the windows allowed to open in rooms. While this isn't new, big or luxurious, it is quaint and very comfortable.”

It was supposed to be on the rooftop but it was probably one of the roughest rain days of the year. However, the pivot was real and they moved everything downstairs without a blink of an eye! “Unreal! We accidentally fell upon this place this morning and upon entering my jaw dropped and mouth started watering instantly. We ordered a big bag full of both savory and sweet pastries and we ate everything while making lots of mmmmmm sounds throughout. The coffee is great too. We are just visiting Chicago and leave tomorrow but are planning on dropping by again for one more visit before taking off back to Kentucky. All of the pastries and goodies are the perfect blend of flaky and crunchy and gooey and soft and all the right places with a different taste in every bite! Yuummmmmmm....”

“Friendly service and omg this place got a variety Asian food stop and some of the stuff I don't even get back home in Maryland. Like who served beef soup with beef bone marrow in it was so full of flavor and the portion is so huge. Pho was excellent.”
