The service is outstanding. The food is delicious.
Ovo Frito is my favorite Evanston / Greater Chicago brunch spot. This family owned restaurant has exceptional food and service and a broad breakfast and lunch menu.
Went for brunch time after daughters visit to Northwestern, had the chilaquiles which were phenomenal, my daughter had the piernuda and I was surprised she ate the whole thing since it was so good and my wife felt terrible for leaving her french toast sandwich to go so obviously ate the whole thing! Kyle the waiter was phenomenal! Very kind and understanding to give time to decide our order, super quick with everything from drinks to getting the check at the end. Excellent all...read full review

OVO Frito Cafe is a hidden gem serving excellent Mex-Am cuisine at reasonable prices. This cozy and clean diner offers a creative menu with lots of choices, including a delicious breakfast burrito with rellno chile. The service is great, and the staff are amazing and cooperative. The interior is artfully decorated with magical realist paintings and nice lighting, making it a top spot for brunch and breakfast. It is known for its wonderful and consistently fresh food, with popular dishes like chilaquiles and vegetarian tacos that burst with flavor. The cafe has a lively, bustling atmosphere that many find enjoyable, though it can be crowded and noisy at times. The home fries are especially praised as BOMB, and the fabulous coffee is highly recommended. Indoor seating is bright and colorful, creating a cheerful environment perfect for brunch.
