The Purple Pig Restaurant Reviews
My favorite restaurant in the world. Seriously. Hands down. When I go to Chicago, I am making reservations at the Purple Pig for at least two of the nights. Bone marrow and pig ears are a must. But you can’t go wrong. Did I mention it’s my favorite?
We loved our experience. Food was great, sauce was amazing, and staff very friendly.
Although the food is still better than the Oakbrook branch, we get the feeling that the quality is declining and the menu choices are less inspired than in the past. At this point $60/person (not including drinks) should feel worth it for a special occasion.
Crispy pig's ear - still tasty
Salt roasted beets - still tasty
Duck croquettes - just ok
Salmon - very good
Milk braised berkshire shoulder - the greens shouldn't be full of rosemary
Filet mignon -...read full review

The Purple Pig Restaurant offers a trendy atmosphere and fantastic service, making it a popular spot in Chicago. Their menu features a variety of shareable dishes, including the special arancini ball, feta spreadable, mushrooms 3 way, and pork belly, all praised for their high quality and value. The food is exceptional, with tender meat, flavorful wine, fresh vegetables, and attentive service. Notable dishes include the pork belly, whiskey, octopus, bone marrow, filet mignon, and short rib, which are all highly recommended. The menu is versatile, suitable for both quick lunches and more formal dinners. The roasted bone marrow is especially delicious, full of flavor with herbs, bacon jam, and onions enhancing it. The Spanish Octopus is grilled perfectly, tender and seasoned beautifully, while the grilled shrimp has a slight crisp char and is tasty. Drinks and service are consistently excellent, with the chef and bartender dedicated to satisfying every craving. Although the restaurant is a bit pricy, it’s a great spot to enjoy some of the best food in the city, whether for a unique dining experience or a relaxed meal.
