“My brother and I are in Chicago for a football game this weekend. We decided to hit up this restaurant primary because of the name. Obelix is a childhood comic that we have all loved growing up. The food was absolutely divine. I was definitely underdressed but luckily not turned away! Their take on sushi was breathtaking. Each bite was an explosion of well balanced flavors. The steak tartare was fresh and full of flavor. We ended up having the beef Wellington which took about an hour to prep but the server did a great job explaining the menu and the time frame for each meal. Beef Wellington was cooked to perfection. I tend to have stomach issues regardless of what restaurant I go to. Had absolutely no issues and was able to enjoy the rest of my night due to amazingly fresh ingredients. Staff was amazing. Food was amazing. On the pricier side but it all makes sense!!! Will certainly come back on my next trip!“

“Overall an excellent experience. Service was great. The warm cheese starter was excellent and very tasty. The escargot was good. The ravioli was missing the brown butter taste. The. Duck was good with red cabbage, beets, sweet potato and mushrooms. The almond cake was also very good. Would definitely return and try new things again.“

“This is our third time coming to this restaurant. We typically come once a year for a special occasion or trip into Chicago. The food is always excellent. Service is typically good. My only comment on our most recent visit is that our food was much slower than typical in coming out. Others around us seemed to receive much quicker service. These things happen, and I don't blame our waitress at all. She was very apologetic and provided complimentary sparkling wine and dessert. But it was an anomaly worth mentioning, and we never received a satisfactory reason for the slow service after placing our order.“

“I found this gem about a month ago and I have been here several times in the past month...and I live in South Carolina! If you have not found this place - RUN to them! Their food is amazing. Their French Onion soup will bring a tear to your eyes... and their Cornish hen is out of this world! Graham and his crew here are kicking out some amazing food you can't find everywhere in Chicago and this place is becoming a fan favorite with our company and some of our vendors/partners. Great place to take a client, date, or just some friends.“

“We loved our meal last night for Valentine’s Day! pair the duck bread with the squash soup. It was absolutely delicious. The goat cheese salad with the apple dressing was equally as good. My steak was cooked perfectly. We had an amazing espresso martini and a delightful crisp lemon cocktail. My husband also liked their old fashioned. We split caramel ice cream with pineapple and it was a great finishing touch. The Moscato d Asti never disappoints either this is our fourth Valentine’s Day with Brindille and it has been our tradition ever since we have been together. Each year is different and this year was definitely better than the last! Their servers are great too. We are looking forward to our future years here. Thank you. ❤️“

“Wonderful lunch experience! Everything was delicious- from the cocktails to the wine to the mains. We had the brioche club and the burger and both were excellent! The atmosphere is cute and cozy and the staff is attentive and kind. Can’t wait to come back for dinner (and brunch!)!!“

“This small Cafe was worth the crazy traffic on a rainy day. Got there right as theh opened and I'm glad we did, they filled up fast! Coffee was delicious, crepes were the best we ever had. Got to meet the owner who recommended his favorite crepe. Wonderful experience.“

“Our experience was quite the whirlwind. My guest arrived nearly 45min before the reservation began and let the hostess know that she would wait for me at the bar. Upon arrival to the bar she was repeatedly asked to provide a card to start a tab - something which my guest recognized that no one else at the bar had been asked. That was very odd but we decided to continue with our evening nonetheless. When I arrived I asked the hostess if we could sit at a table instead of the bar to which we were moved to the outdoor seating area. Our waitress was delightful as was all of the food that we had. I was happy that the evening turned around until I received an email from Opentable stating that I did not honor my reservation. Color me surprised when both my guest and myself directly communicated with the hostess on two separate occasions. I wanted to have a pleasant review because the food, ambiance, and waiter was so kind but Bar La Rue's prejudices were extremely off putting.“

“Great hotel restaurant. Five star for sushi. It's a staple in Chicago. The rooftop is great in the summer. The martinis are great. Slightly expensive though.“

“I took my daughter out for her birthday with my son and his family. Suffice it to say, my family loves good food and the menu hit the spot for us. Warm bread served with a briny tapenade, seafood tower, oyster plate, caviar service, duck, steaks and delicious sides were just a few items that we ate. The drinks were good as well. We really enjoyed ourselves and the service was very good.“

“Since coming back from Paris, I just wanted to re-experience an amazing French breakfast and pastry. And this place never disappoints! I brought my mom here and knowing she has high expectations, I was nervous. But after her first bite, I knew that she loved it! Everyone is always very nice and the atmosphere is just so cozy and very French. The croissants are to die for!“
