“An absolutely beautiful locally owned coffee shop in an area with few options. It's open and bright, and they host community events. The staff are friendly and helpful and the drinks (haven't tried the food yet, but hope to soon!) are very good!“
“This is the spot I NEEDED in the neighborhood. A casual pizza family-owned restaurant that brings me back to Italy. The staff is fantastic and the food is delicious. It's BYOB as well. I got the Pistachina and it was 10/10; I want to try other pizzas but that one is TOO GOOD...“
“There is such a chill vibe and multiple spaces to enjoy outdoor RN there's even a doggy parking lot. I love the family nature of this business and it is a black owned family owned business with top quality service and fresh ingredients. I just wish they stayed open longer so I can spend more money with them.“
“Great food with quality ingredients from Greece. Friendly & knowledgeable staff with top notch service! I'm 100% Greek and appreciate this concept opening in the neighborhood. Authentic foods you won't find elsewhere. The staff is approachable and will help you choose what to order. You can taste the quality. Highly recommend.“
“One of the best meals we've ever had! We had the shrimp salad, Goat empanadas, green beans, Pig face and the crabby bbq pork belly. We also had the coconut dessert and the plantain tres leches. Everything was delicious. The standout for us was the Crabby bbq pork belly! Apparently its a new menu item and it was fantastic!Service was great, the timing of the courses was perfect and our server was very attentive.“
“Bang Bang has been a neighborhood favorite of mine for years! Tastes like it's made with love. The biscuits, the pies, the sides, you can't go wrong! I usually get a scratch biscuit with sweet, a side salad or side of candied bacon, and a slice of pie to go :) Delicious! Great patio space for the summer!“
“The most beautiful people, FOOD, and service here!! The Empanadas were hands down the very best I’ve had! Chicken Tinga would be my number one choice!! The ground beef and potato was also very tasty! 10/10 all around. The overall ambience has a very positive, peaceful vibe!! Will definitely return! Joseline and Claudia were so sweet. This experience was definitely one to remember for myself and my Kid.Kid-friendliness: Definitely kid fiendly“
“Such a fantastic lunch stop yesterday! The pork and dill dumplings were my favorite, but the shrimp were delightful as well. We did ours steamed and added some of the beef kebab which were very flavorful. This will definitely be on our list for future Chicago trips!“
“This place is a total experience! The food is delicious, the decor is artsy and beautiful, and the owners are absolute gems. my family and I went for the first time yesterday and had the BEST time. we came for some quick pierogi but stayed for the ambiance, warm welcome, and fantastic conversation with the owners. This cafe is charming beyond belief and we will definitely be back. This is the perfect place to stop in with some friends or loved ones when you are out and about in the neighborhood. I guarantee you will want to come back again and again.“
“5 stars for this gem of place in Chi-town ! Not only was the service amazing, but the juices and bites to eat were the best plant based and vegan food I have ever had. My favorite was the matcha donut. It was so yummy I couldn’t believe it was made with no sugar! I left feeling fueled and inspired to continue on my plant based journey. Sundrip is a must try for all! You won’t regret it. <3“
“Love how they accommodate both thc and cbd if you do not like the psychoactive effect. Theres even thc infused water!!! They truly have every possible infused dessert you can think of not just your typical infused brownies. Will be back! There was vegan cupcakes for those with dietary restrictionsDietary restrictions: Has vegan cupcakes. Did not see gluten free although someone may need to fact check this“
“What an absolute gem of a space! Unbelievably Huge and Lovingly curated selection of plays and theatre related books, lots of fun theatre trinkets, and a super warm, inviting atmosphere. Theatre Students, Practitioners, and Lovers of all ages--skip B&N and make this a regular stop to expand your library!“
“Vaca's Creamery - The Windy City's Best Ice Cream SpotAs a lifelong Chicagoan, I truly appreciate a good ice cream shop. And Vaca's Creamery, located in Wicker Park, is the real deal. This cozy spot offers over 40 inventive ice cream flavors that rotate frequently based on seasonal ingredients. On my recent visit, I indulged in a scoop of Salty Caramel - made with Nutella and flecks of sea salt. So decadent! The staff is extremely friendly and they clearly take pride in their craft. I had some fun chats with the owners who shared how they source dairy from local farms. It's nice to support a small business committed to Chicagoland. After treating myself, I enjoyed my ice cream while strolling along North Avenue, taking in the funky shops and colorful murals that give Wicker Park its edgy vibe. Vaca's is also just a few blocks from the iconic Buckinghams fountain, making it a perfect post-Millennium Park treat.Whether you're a lifelong resident or visitor checking out The Chi, do yourself a favor and experience what makes Vaca's Creamery worth the wait on those hot summer days. You'll leave with a cool scoop and a full belly - even on the windiest of days! I'll be back again soon for another taste of home.“
“The coffee is consistently awesome, and the theme they've got going on adds such a cool vibe coffee to the place., If you're up for a good cup of joe in a place with some serious character, this spot's where it's at. They also have Beacon donuts which is so good! Highly recommend!“
“Absolutely exquisite. You need to book in advance, but trust me, it's worth it. I had a braised lamb shank with carrots, red peppers, celery, tomatoes and garlic, with mashed potatoes on the side. From what I understand, the borscht is authentic and delicious (I went with a Russian and a Ukrainian who should know a thing or two about this food). 100% recommended to complete your visit to the center of this lovely city.“
“Had dinner at PISTORES last night and it was wonderful experience. Lovely decor, nice people and FABULOUS food. Started with their chicken wings which were excellent. Then had a variety of pizzas. The sausage and pepper pizza was ABSOLUTELY the best pizza I have ever had. We will be dining at PISTORES on a regular basis. Congratulations to Joel and Andrea-“
“As a neat one of a kind thing to do, it fits that, although I have been to other similar types of places. They do have a unique picture taking “tour” that you can pay for that has staff take you around and get your picture in some of their special 2D items. Staff are friendly when they are with you. The place is small inside, if you make a reservation they will serve you, if you walk in they may not have time or space for you and you will need to wait or make an on the spot reservation. Limited on street parking but there is a parking garage at Marshall’s/Michaels across the street for shopping at their locations. The food, while cute and fun, is good but nothing great for chicken sandwiches. Fries are ok, donuts were good, the cat pudding is just pudding with whatever flavor you choose, but fun to draw a face and jiggle.“
“I enjoyed a late lunch with Hen Banh Da (Clam Salad) and Mi Quang. Clam salad was everything I imagined it to be and mi quang was underwhelming — lacked flavor and yellow rice noodles were overcooked; I had to add more fish sauce for flavor.Attentive service. I will try this place again and order other offerings.“
“I really really loved this brewery. It's the perfect spot for a bunch of nice drinks with friends or coworkers. They have an amazing selection of beers - My favourites were the Pickle Beer and the Azadi! While the pickle beer sounds funny, trust me it is very interesting. I also had a lovely stout. The general vibe is like most breweries, easy to chat with friends, nice music and good seating. Definitely going back here again.“
“I decided to order and give them a try and it was definitely worth it. Everything we got was full of flavor. Half an order was enough to fill us up. The quesa ropa mixed extremely well and the sauces were fantastic. Will definitely recommend and make this a regular spot.“
“My wife and I ordered oat milk lattes and both were made to perfection. Some coffee shops tend to overheat oat milk and end up making it thinner and generally unpleasant to taste but these folks know what they're doing!Parking: Parking on the street nearby is fairly easy to find.“
“I am sure that you will love to hear the story behind what is today La Malinche Coffee and Tea. And I think it's important to support local small businesses. BTW.. The apple Brie is my favorite panini there.. sweet and salty at the same time.“
“Always incredible - one of the best breakfast sandwiches in the city (I get the pablano/veggie and add sausage ? - which was a staff suggestion). Everyone who works there is friendly and engaging! If they had a yearbook, I would write, "have a cool summer - don't ever change".“
“I randomly come here before work to pick up a breakfast pastry and always end up leaving with two. Today I picked up a crossaint w glazed sugar and cinnamon and a peanut butter brownie. This crossaint is awesome. So crispy, buttery and delicious. Excellent with a good cup of coffee.“
“Phenomenal food and ambience. It felt like I was immersed into a completely different culture nestled in the middle of Chicago. The interior boasts an authentic, yet modern Kazakh experience. The attention to detail was impressive. 5/5, I highly recommend and will continue to come back.“
“Love this new local coffee shop! I'm always on the lookout for a good independently owned coffee shop and this is at the top of my list. The iced coffee is amazing - the flavor has a slight sweetness to it which sets it apart from a lot of other brews I've had. The inside is small but has plenty of seating, so a great place to get studying/work done (plus free - reliable - wifi). The icing on the cake is that their mission is to support local shelter dogs - 50% of sales on their merchandise goes to Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control. The dog-themed decor is also adorable. Highly recommend!!!“
“I have been walking past this place every day since I moved here (I use the CTA Roosevelt Station), but I finally visited Sweet Bean with some friends from out of town and LOVED it. The coffee was good, nothing spectacular, but the pastries are really the unique part. They are self service, and they have sweet and savory pastries - I have tried a few and they were all amazing. 10/10 HIGHLY recommend a visit if you're in the area“
“Best Venezuelan food i tried in Chicago(after my wifes, she is Venezuelan too)!!!We had some empanadas and llanera(skirt steak, cheese and guacamole) and they are super delicious, what i like the most is that food is not grease.Latte that we tried compliments the foodPeople who work here are fiendly and knowledgeable about the menu.I would recommend you to come to this place if you are not in a hurry, just to sit, relax, drink your coffee and enjoy some good food.Rating wise yes this place is a legit 5☆?“
“Really enjoyed the atmosphere of this Starbucks. The plethora of food, drink, and merchandise is something I’d never dreamed of, but happy I got to see. The espresso martini was amazing, loved the almond croissant, and my favorite thing was probably the cannoli. I wish I had more time to try their lunch menu and other drinks, but guess I have to wait to come back.Parking: Closest parking was about 1.5 miles away.“
“Logan Vegan easily has the best vegan Ice Cream I've ever had, and the owner John makes it himself which I find even cooler. It's coconut based, but doesn't taste coconutty at all. The taste and texture is just like normal ice cream. I'm lactose intolerant and used to just take a bunch of lactaids when I go to Jeni's ice cream but now I just go to Logan Vegan and I'm good - haven't been back to Jeni's in months. My personal favorites are the mint chip and cookies & cream.“
“Great spot, I came in for a meeting and had a great cappuccino and food - would have loved to do jebena but it would have been too much for one! It smelled delicious, the French bread is incredible, the frittata was wonderfully flavorful, and so was the baklava. I hope this place succeeds! You know a place is the real deal when you’re the only white folks in there XD“
“Super recomendado, comida es extraordinaria, deli - deli , servicio, ambiente, la tienda, postres. Todo, todo. Fuimos mi nieta y yo desde Mexico. Nos encanto.Si algun dia vuelvo a Chicago, Cafe Beograd es el primer lugar a donde voy a ir. Saludos desde Mexico.“
“Worth waiting for, these savory bagels have a great crust and soft chew! Even the plain bagel was praised by my teenage daughter, while I went for a special shamrock bagel that was green in color but also loaded with seasoning. I wish I had a place near my house like this, because I would stop by everyday!“
“Love the handy drive-thru. Also love the wheat free options like chocolate chip cookies, biscuit that can substitute some for bread on sandwiches, and other pastries. Lots of pastries. LOVE the scones. Vegetarian options are tasty. Had the Rubén sandwich yesterday and it was awesome. Also love the mission of the facility. Staffed by residents of Misericordia's homes. Decent prices and great taste with a cause!!“
“I frequent this place all the time and always have a great experience. The food is delicious (specially the crapes and chilaquiles). The coffee and matcha is always on point. The dogs love the pup cups. The staff is so kind. I love their new outdoor space. Just a solid place.“
“Cafe 53 in Chicago is an absolute gem and deserves every bit of praise it receives. I can't express how much I love this place! The moment you step inside, you're greeted with a cozy and inviting atmosphere. It's the perfect spot for a relaxed meal, catching up with friends, or enjoying some quiet time with a book. Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at Cafe 53 is a delightful mix of flavors and options. I've tried several dishes here, and each one has been a culinary masterpiece. Whether it's their delicious breakfast offerings or their mouthwatering sandwiches and salads for lunch, every bite is a taste sensation. And don't get me started on their coffee - it's the perfect pick-me-up to start your day. What truly sets Cafe 53 apart is their exceptional customer service. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always ready with a warm smile. They make you feel like a valued guest with their prompt service and genuine hospitality. I've been a regular at Cafe 53 for quite some time now, and it never disappoints. If you haven't been here yet, I highly recommend giving it a try. It's a must-visit spot in Chicago for anyone who appreciates delicious food, a welcoming ambiance, and fantastic service. I can't wait for my next visit!“
“I had a latte here and I wish (now looking at the reviews) that I would have ordered some food ?These lattes are so delicious. The vibes of this coffee shop at very pink but also very cute and not too pink. Theres street parking around the coffee shop.I went on a Saturday morning and it wasn’t too busy.I can’t wait to go back and try some foodFor more reviews follow me here on google or on Instagram @audrey.pulliam ?“
“Great bakery that just opened, definitely check it out.. better than Starbucks! They serve dark matter coffee, pastries & delicious breakfast sandwiches. I'm hooked! && the staff is amazing, it's a mom son & daughter they're just so sweet!“
“My favorite coffee shop around! The owners are super friendly, take the time to get to know you, and they really care about the local community. They also make some of the best dang lattes and drinks (better than Dark Matter, Intelligentsia, etc.). They always have great pastries and snacks on hand as well.“
“We just visited the brand new Wicker Park location on Pierce around the corner from the Damen Blue Line stop. The pastries we tried (pistachio croissant and various biscotti) were incredible. The staff and owner Ciro were so welcoming in their new beautiful establishment. So many delicious authentic Italian options to choose from!“
“Israel and his team are dedicated to creating one of the most amazing morning atmospheres in all of Chicago. Besides having one of the city's best croissants, the staff goes above and beyond to ensure a positive experience for all guests - regardless of how busy it can get on peak days. The space is clean and cozy, with excellent music selection and a calm ambiance. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great breakfast spot in the heart of Chicago.“
“Donuts are really good, the hot green tea is great, and the employees are so kind! But for real though, the green tea is too goodThe only bad thing is how small their cups are. However, the tea bag is so strong that you can pour more hot water on a different cup and still use the tea.“
“Our newly discovered favorite Saturday treat! I've seen Standing Passengers many times driving or walking to Eckhart Park. We finally made a stop in and have been coming for the last few weekends since. We've tried a couple great ones like Caramel Toffee and a Lavender combo where the other flavor slips my mind, but do not think it still wasn't delicious. At first, we ordered a couple hot varieties, but with the weather warming up, a barista recommended an Iced Chocolate Banana Mocha and we haven't looked back since. Absolutely delicious and very nostalgic for me! They put care and craft into every drink and we love making this stop a part of our routine. They also offer lunch items they make in house with a great selection. We haven't tried them for lunch yet, but we'll sometimes grab a taco that they serve from Cafe Tola and they're always great. They are stacked for $6 each. We really like the Machacha (shredded beef), Chorizo, & Veggie. The hot sauce has quite the kick and we'll use a whole one for one taco. Flour Power also has a collab with them where they serve meatball sandwiches. I'm looking forward to giving one a try eventually. All in all, absolutely recommend. Great vibes, free wifi, and a beautifully spacious outdoor patio with wonderful people and service.“
“The unassuming front of the cafe does little to prepare the coffee aficionado for what awaits them inside this quaint and modern cafe. The palette of this modern cafe is white/white marble and tans and other earth tones. Minimalist to a fault, this cafe breaks tradition with its thumping techno music and THC-infused menu. Don’t worry, you can find your classic favorites of THC-free beverages ranging from latte to americano, but I implore you to try one of their signature drinks. Happy sipping!“
“Super friendly owners, house made syrups are amazing (especially vanilla), and coffee is always consistent. Recommend getting matcha latte and the breakfast sandwich! You can also order ahead using their online link which I recommend because they do get busy.“
“Great little neighborhood coffeehouse with friendly staff working there. It’s a great place to get a cup of whatever and hang out. Nice relaxing atmosphere. Wish they have few large sofas and coffee tables set up to truly turn this coffeehouse into a place to chill.“
“This is the CUTEST cafe. The coffee was excellent and the food was delicious (I had the garden bagel, and WOW). It was pumping when I was there and the food/coffee still came out really quickly. I think everything was really reasonably priced considering how high-quality the ingredients are. The staff were so sweet and welcoming. I had an opportunity to talk to the owners and they were just as lovely. Can't recommend this place enough - I will be back!Dietary restrictions: I'm vegetarian and the garden bagel was SO good and super filling.“
“What a cool joint with colorful art and incredible empanadas. Had the pinto beans, black beans and vegan curry and each tasted amazing with their distinctly flavorful profiles, but if I were pressed for a favorite the vegan curry was my favorite. Also the horchata latte is a must try. Was so pleasantly surprised by this place and can’t wait to keep returning to try the rest.“
“Nice place but they kind of cheat you out of the cold brew; when ordering it black, they will pour less than half a cup, fill it up with ice, and then top it off with water. I like the vibe of this place but there are too many other places in the area to get coffee that WON’T water it down right in front of you.“
“Gretel is a neighborhood staple. The food is outstanding. From the proteins to the pasta to the burger... everything is A-grade. It's my go to spot with friends. Drinks are high quality -- the old fashion is a must-try. Service is always friendly and knowledgeable. Cool lounge area downstairs too to enjoy apps and drinks.“
