“I have gone to Andros Taverna for many years now where I am never disappointed and always impressed with the service, the quality of food and ingredients, the atmosphere and the passion in general. Chef Doug Psaltis is a true expert and artist performing at the highest levels. The gyros are the best, best gyros in Chicago by far, the seafood world class, the homemade bread and pita are incredible. The foods and meats are cooked over wood fire, wood fire grilled. We had our daughters baptism catered from here which was excellent assortment of Greek food - this is a Greek restaurant you will go to for many years to come.“

“Always loved their Greek pastries, they are the best, started going to them 60 yrs ago with my mom and dad. We were always going to Hellas for our parties baptisms and weddings. All our holiday needs were easily available for us. Unfortunately, we moved out to Poplar Grove, Illinois near Belvedere and have missed them greatly. Always love them and it brings a tears to my eyes, that they are still around. God bless them. My parents knew the owners personally.“

“One of the best Greek restaurants in the city! With a solid menu with plenty of options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike, I recommend Taxim for anyone new to Greek food or long-time lovers.

We split the tzatziki and pita, grape leaf wrapped shrimp, mushroom pastry, fried cauliflower, and roasted potatoes. Everything was a good sharing portion and nothing felt skimpy. The rooftop vibe was excellent on a summer night! Our waitress was great and made us delicious Hugo spritz even though we didn’t see them on the menu, she made it happen!

The fired cauliflower was fantastic and I recommend as a must! The phyllo dough pastry was my favorite and came with a side of mild goat cheese - yum! The potatoes were tender and cooked in lamb fat with pieces of juicy lamb included.“

“I had a gyros sandwich today, it was the Tuesday special. This sandwich was delicious, the meat was perfectly cooked (not dry or undercooked like I've gotten elsewhere) & the sandwich was properly assembled with the right proportion of tomatoes, red onions & Tzaziki sauce.

“I love these old school no nonsense simple and great food places that were all over since the 80s and 90s. Not many are left like this. Their grilled chicken, burgers, fries, chilli everything is so good. The prices have gone up a lot in the last 10 years and still more budget friendly than so many other places in the area. “Fantastic catering experience from Mr. Greek Gyros on Taylor Street! We ordered lunch for 60 employees, and despite the pouring rain, the owner provided outstanding customer service and delivered everything on time.

The gyros and chicken gyros were absolutely delicious, and the leftovers were just as tasty the next day. Our team loved it!
