“I have gone to Andros Taverna for many years now where I am never disappointed and always impressed with the service, the quality of food and ingredients, the atmosphere and the passion in general. Chef Doug Psaltis is a true expert and artist performing at the highest levels. The gyros are the best, best gyros in Chicago by far, the seafood world class, the homemade bread and pita are incredible. The foods and meats are cooked over wood fire, wood fire grilled. We had our daughters baptism catered from here which was excellent assortment of Greek food - this is a Greek restaurant you will go to for many years to come.“

“Always loved their Greek pastries, they are the best, started going to them 60 yrs ago with my mom and dad. We were always going to Hellas for our parties baptisms and weddings. All our holiday needs were easily available for us. Unfortunately, we moved out to Poplar Grove, Illinois near Belvedere and have missed them greatly. Always love them and it brings a tears to my eyes, that they are still around. God bless them. My parents knew the owners personally.“

The food was DELICIOUS.. authentic tastes, we got the Prassopita, haloumi , souvlakia and Kokoretsi pair with some greek FIX beers. The atmosphere on the terrace was beautiful, the smell of roasting meets made everything feel like you are in a cute restaurant somewhere in a village in Greece. Update July 2026: Salonica is open everyday but closes at 3 pm monday to thursday and stays open for dinner on the weekends. Still good breakfast menu. I always get the No. 3.“

I didn't catch any names but the cashier helped us make the right choice with recommendations and the cook did not disappoint. “Well originally I was craving for Portillos but since this whole week I've been working at Midway I kept seeing this hole and below local restaurant.. This is my first time trying Nikki's and I was actually suprised at the Italian beef. It was not bland compared to Al's Beef or Portillo's but at the same time it was not too salty. I like that they use steak fries. Very chunky. As for the choice of a drink for the meal for $12.99 they had horchatas as well as Jamaican juice and mango or the regular soda fountain drinks. I would have given them four stars for my experience but after seeing that they don't have a bathroom to wash your hands. Service was ok. Ambience was like a hole in the wall or very local which is good. I would come back but next time would like to try their burgers or their barbecue rib tips. I do recommend for such food“

“I love these old school no nonsense simple and great food places that were all over since the 80s and 90s. Not many are left like this. Their grilled chicken, burgers, fries, chilli everything is so good. The prices have gone up a lot in the last 10 years and still more budget friendly than so many other places in the area. I go here 3 to 4 times a month. Great staff. Always friendly and fast.“
