“Got the double dog Chicago Style and fries, fried shrimp mild (they make it spicy too) with cocktail sauce, cheese dip and a Pepsi. Went out back and enjoyed my meal at the outdoor seating.

After moving from North Carolina, I can no longer commit heresy and put ketchup on a hot dog. I'm straight up addicted to the Chicago Style dog. Didn't expect two in one bun, but it was delicious nonetheless. Fried shrimp was crunchy and soft. Definitely gotta try the spicy next time. Fries were rolled right up with the dog and I even put some of them in the dog too cause why the hell not? 10/10 I'll be back.“

“The hamburgers melt in your mouth and the hand cut fries are absolutely delicious. They never disappoint me and the food is always ready in a timely manner. I always order the hamburger with the special sauce, trust me u won't regret it...... yummy“

Taking another point off because it is missing tomato (sign indicated this so I knew what I was getting). But adding a point cause the fries are legit. Is it my top dog ? “This was absolutely the most inhaleable italian beef I had during my stay in Chicago. Their au jus was also thick with spices so no wonder the italian beef is so delicious here. Somehow their dipped sandwich is perfectly soft and tender. You can literally sit there and breathe this sandwich in to consume it. Staff were very friendly and kind. Loved it here. Teared up seeing Anthony Bourdain’s face too.“

“A basic, unassuming hotdog stand right next to the Field Museum. They have the regular Chicago dog (onions, mustard, tomato, sport pepper, celery salt, pickle spear). They also have vegetarian and turkey dogs as well as polish dogs. You can have the basic toppings mentioned above as well as chili, cheese, and sauerkraut. You can also purchase water or canned soda and chips. All combos (dog, chips, drink) appear to around 10-11 dollars (prices reflect a 3% cash discount). You can enjoy one after leaving one of the museums while checking out water views!“

“Horrid! As a native Chicagoan I never expected to be disappointed by a neighbourhood hot dog stand. Yesterday, for the first time I went to Jr’s Red Hots. For starters they messed up the order of two hotdogs with fries. Instead we received two overcooked polish sausage with greasy fries. I couldn’t consume more than two bites of either. It was obvious the grill and oil from deep fryer aren’t routinely cleaned. Failed on a grand scale!!!! Never going back to Jr’s.“

“What a great find! The fries alone make this a 5 star stop. Fresh cut, but seasoned with incredible flavor. The burger was delicious- smashed and juicy. I opted to try their “craft sauce,” even though I am not usually a fan of special sauces. It was more flavorful and spicy than a typical special sauce. The burger was so good, though, it didn’t need the sauce. Perfect food for after a show at Thalia Hall.

We had a few dogs and I tried their gravy bucket which was amazing. Yes it was 90 degrees the other day but whatever, it was fire. Chili and Tamale in a cup. Super. The dogs were tasty and the fries were crispy.

The staff were friendly and the seating has a few booths. My big hang up was parking. It was limited on a Wednesday afternoon at 1p.

The Super Burger lived up to its name and was topped with grilled onions and mozzarella cheese. My patty melt was spot on: crispy bread and a perfect burger‑to‑grilled‑onions ratio. I also grabbed a large fountain drink, and refills were $1.

The interior has been recently updated, and they’re clearly making good use of the space, including a half‑booth facing the window. The booths were comfortable, making it an easy place to sit and enjoy lunch.“
