“Mart Anthony's is like going home for dinner. The food, service and atmosphere are always fantastic. I always take family and friends visiting from out of town to enjoy my favorite restaurant- Mart Anthony's! (Marty's) Love to all there!”
“Everything was excellent-hence the noise-lots of people make lots of noise. The food and service are outstanding. We had a shrimp appetizer and octopus which were perfectly spiced. Pork tenderloin was my favorite plus others had Bronzino, halibut and pasta-also matchless. I was unfamiliar with the Italian wines-we tried 3 different ones and all were fresh and delicious. We will definitely return .”
“While this was my 1st visit Riccardo’s Enoteca to celebrate a special occasion, it will not be my last!Hostess Jasmine and staff without exception were very friendly and customer focused. I am appreciative of their efforts to make me feel welcome to this cute Italian restauran. Jasmine made excellent recommendations for Italian wine which paired nicely with the meal. However, the star was the food! Being a fan of eggplant, I highly recommend the eggplant/zucchini appetizer which was cooked to perfection. For the main, I ordered the Amish Chicken Breast Milanese arugula with grape tomato’s and roast potato which was excellent but a very large portion. It was cooked to perfection.I saved room for the house made tiramisu which hit the spot with a cup of cafe American!I recommend dining early to avoid the crowds. There is also room at the bar to sit and dine. Give this place a try….you won’t be disappointed! ?”
“This place is amazing. The food, wait staff, the ambiance is great. I'm such a fan of their Margherita Pizza - always fresh ingredients and piping hot. Sitting outside is a must!!!! My coworkers and I favorite spot near the job. Self parking is limited in this area but they do have valet parking.”
“Wow. Exceptional! The food is excellent, the service is phenomenal, the cocktails are great and the ambiance is amazing. My date's first time here and she loved everything about Viaggio! Dave, Nick, Hector and the rest of his gracious team make you feel like family from the second you walk in. We had wonderful service from Gerardo who made our night so special! I truly can't say enough about this wonderful establishment. If you're looking for one of the best Italian restaurants in Chicago, this is your spot. Thank you to Dave and Viaggio for making our date night so great. Can't wait to return, real soon! Cheers...P.S., get the Tiramisu for dessert!”
“I went to Il Porcellino years ago and the Lasagna dish left a mark forever! While visiting Chicago I convinced my husband to come here to try the Lasagna. Sadly they changed the dish a bit and, while it's still incredible, it was not the same recipe! Do I recommend it? Yes. Do I miss the old recipe? Yes. Regardless, the food was incredible and we had a great time. Our waiter was absolutely impeccable and very very nice! We'll be back!!”
“The view of the city is over the top beautiful. The waitstaff was remarkable, fantastic service. The food is great, came out hot and on time and delicious. Drinks were top shelf. This place is a must to bring out of town guests to have the full Chicago experience.”
“I visited here alone and they gave me the table seat. I was worried because I saw a review there was a racism here, but I couldn't acknowledge that. The waiter was really nice, the whole employees cared me a lot.The steak was fantastic. It has been cooked what I expected, and the amount of the steak was enough for one person(might be too much for someone). The steak by itself was so good that I didn't even need a sauce. Not only just steak, the soup and appetizer bread was absolutely perfect. Had really great experience in Chicago thanks to Rosebud Steakhouse!”
“Huge 15" sandwich: fresh Italian deli meat, cheese, veggies, & bread (very soft); big arancini with spinach & cheese [heat up available upon request]; very friendly cashiers. 3L cans of EVVO are also available at this store ie. Colavita.”
“What a fun experience! The food servings are huge (especially the Grinder sandwich so you have to try this), the food is good, the tortoni (ice cream) is smooth and rum infused w flakes of graham cracker. And the mozzarella cheese is good and chewy and fresh. The bread for the grinder was tasty and soft and fluffy with sprinkled Italian like seasoning and cheese. The only thing was the bread got soggy with the sauce being in there when it was baked lightly crisp. The upside down pizza pot pie was fun to watch the waitress uncover it to cut in half. The 1/2 pound was enough for one hungry person but it didn’t have much filling in it but some cheese so I was a little disappointed as we got the meat sauce one and there were barely any meat pieces but the large mushrooms were good. It was loaded w cheese and the dough was fluffy and good. But I personally liked the grinder the best bc it had so much stuff and it was filling and I had 1/2 the grinder leftover for the next day. The vegetarian grinder was amazing. I would def return. Plus the food was not salty. I like that a lot.Parking: If you can find a spot on the street it’s free”
“It was a birthday celebration and the celebrant really loves and wanted TIRAMISU, which is not on the menu, but which did, in fact appear with a candle following a wonderful meal. We are so grateful for that very special touch. It was spectacular!”
“I recently dined at Sapori Trattoria in Chicago, and it was an enchanting culinary experience. From the moment I walked in, the cozy ambiance and welcoming staff set the stage for a delightful evening. The menu at Sapori Trattoria is a celebration of authentic Italian flavors. I started with the Insalata Rustica, brussel sprout salad with parmesan baked bread crumbles, and dried cranberries. House-made buttermilk avocado dressing contains a touch of anchovy and Worcestershire. It was a perfect appetizer to whet the appetite. To keep things interesting, I opted to get the Charred Octupus, made with crispy artichokes, burnt lemon, dill, oregano, pickled and fresno chili. Just perfectoFor the main course, I indulged in their Pollo Ternana, and it did not disappoint. Chicken breast stuffed with smoked provolone, basil, mushrooms, asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes and pine nuts. Each bite was a burst of Italian comfort. The drink selection was extensive, and the knowledgeable staff helped me choose a perfect pairing for my meal. Their attention to detail and commitment to enhancing the dining experience were truly impressive. To cap off the evening, I enjoyed a decadent cacio e pepe cheesecake for dessert, which was a heavenly conclusion to an outstanding meal.Sapori Trattoria in Chicago is a hidden gem that transports you to the heart of Italy with its authentic cuisine and warm ambiance. Whether it's a romantic dinner or a special celebration, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking exceptional Italian fare in Chicago. I can't wait to return and explore more of their tantalizing menu.”
“Wonderful neighborhood place. Service is always friendly and spot on. Love the quaint space but not for everyone as it’s pretty tight but that’s the charm.Food is very good, appetizers are great- meatballs, grilled octopus and grilled polenta are my favorites.Pasta dishes are all great but only complaint is they could be a bit larger …never seems like enoughEnjoy!!”
“We had a wonderful meal. We ordered specials, the gazpacho and the branzino. The food was delicious, the presentation beautiful and the staff as generous and fun as always. We love Ricardo year round but especially in the summer when the chef takes advantage of the summer bounty. We enjoy an early reservation when the restaurant is very conversation friendly.”
“Hands down, the best gluten-free pasta in Chicago, and the rest of the menu is great too. They have a nice little summer patio and super cozy inside space in the winter. Wait staff are always personable and professional. Nice Italian wine list with some unusual offerings.”
“Incredible experience at Mario's Table. Will be back again for sure. We were looking for a neighborhood Italian joint with incredible food, and we found exactly that. Couldn't have been happier with the kind and polite staff, and I can't wait to go back!”
“Food and service were great. We had the rigatoni and gnocci. Server Miguel was personable and had great recommendations. They were able to do the rigatoni as gluten free as well. Get the vanilla ice cream...it's the best we have ever had.”
“First dined here one night since close and convenient. Wasn't overly hungry so just looking for something quick. When we were served fresh bread with olive oil and parmesan cheese to start, we knew we'd be back. Two days later we returned for dinner. It took a few minutes but the waitress remembered us; very friendly and made sure we were okay. Can't say enough positive things about this place. I'm from NYC area so that's saying something. Big portions, great tasting food, service was great. Definitely will be back when in town.”
“Best Italian food I’ve ever had in the Usa! We sat right in front of the bar so we could see how they made raviolis from scratch, the food was amazing, the service was great, everything just made sense in that place! It was such a lovely/delicious experience! We ordered fiore di zucca as an appetizer! For entrees we had: lumache, sheep’s milk ricotta ravioli, gnocchetti con pesto and spaghetti al Pomodoro and everything was DELICIOUS! It’s from now on, my favorite restaurant in Chicago! Not only the food tasted good but the plates looked beautifully! We had tiramisu for dessert and it was incredibly good and huge! It was enough for 4 people!10000/10 ?? treat yourself and come try this placeParking: We used paid street parking!”
“my mom recommended ignotz and i finally got around to going!! not disappointed! the bread and garlic they give is so fire. im a simple gal so i just ordered meatballs and a salad, but i enjoyed my meal.waitress was very kind.cute place inside and out.”
“Chef Mark and the team at Pasta D'Arte are the best. The food was incredible, and the service top notch. I have a severe soy allergy, and Chef Mark goes above and beyond to make sure I have a perfect dining experience. It means a ton to my family and I. It has become our go to spot. I would recommend the Gnocchi Pecorino. It is fantastic.”
“I wanted to take a moment to share my heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional service we received from Ciccio Mio's server, Katie. She truly made our dining experience unforgettable by going above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction.Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by Katie's warm smile and genuine enthusiasm. What struck me the most was her remarkable ability to remember us from our last visit, making us feel like valued guests. Her attention to detail and personalized service created an atmosphere of familiarity and warmth that set the stage for a delightful evening. Now, let's talk about the food! Ciccio Mio's vodka rigatoni was an absolute masterpiece. The pasta was cooked to perfection, al dente and generously coated in a luscious vodka sauce that was rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. The dish was beautifully presented, and each bite was a symphony of taste sensations that left us craving for more. And oh, the amaretto soft serve! It was a heavenly treat that captivated our taste buds. The smooth and velvety texture of the soft serve combined with the distinct flavor of amaretto created a dessert experience that was both indulgent and comforting. It was the perfect way to end our meal, leaving us with a sweet memory that lingered long after we left the restaurant.Throughout the evening, Katie's attentiveness was exceptional. She took the time to explain the menu, offered insightful recommendations, and ensured that all our needs were met. Her genuine passion for her work was evident, as she effortlessly guided us through the dining experience with a level of care and professionalism that is truly rare to find.Beyond the extraordinary food and remarkable service, the ambiance of Ciccio Mio was inviting and cozy. The attention to detail in the decor, combined with the warm lighting and comfortable seating, created an atmosphere that was both intimate and relaxing. It's a place where you can unwind, savor delicious food, and create cherished memories. In conclusion, Ciccio Mio, with the help of the incredible server Katie, has left an indelible mark on our hearts. The vodka rigatoni and amaretto soft serve were absolute delights that showcased the culinary expertise of the restaurant. But it was Katie's exceptional service, genuine warmth, and attention to detail that truly elevated our dining experience. We left Ciccio Mio feeling not just satisfied but grateful for the wonderful evening we had.A heartfelt thank you to Katie and the entire Ciccio Mio team for creating a truly memorable experience. We look forward to returning and recommending this exceptional restaurant to friends and family.”
“First time here, really impressed by the service and the menu options. This used to be Hearth and Crust, and since I’m always on the lookout for great Italian food, this really fit the bill. I ordered pollo affumicato, which combines chicken parmigiana with essence of bacon and mashed potatoes. Definitely a treat.”
“The food and service were absolutely fantastic! I had the fillet mignon with the truffle butter crust, my husband had the filet oscar, and we shared an order of the hash brown potatoes. The steaks were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection and the potatoes were delicious. The cocktails were also amazing - I had the dutchie and he had the old fashioned. I'd definitely come back if we find ourselves in Chicago again.”
“I never write reviews, but this place deserves to be highlighted! Amazing food, drinks and service. Atmosphere is cool with a great mix of people. Definitely don't pass on this place and scoop a reservation while you can! Food ordered: Chicken Parmesan Carbonara Pappardelle (my group's favorite entree) Spicy Cauliflower Brussel Sprouts (my group's favorite side) Cannoli”
“This place was in very close walking distance from our hotel. Food was very good and generously portioned. The arugula salad was perfectly dressed and was covered with lots of cheese. Pizza was great - lots of mushrooms and prosciutto on top of a nicely charred crust. Don’t skip the gelato. They are one of a handful places serving Ichnusa beer. Ichnusa is imported from Sardinia and pairs well with the pizza.”
“Very upset that I've lived in the neighborhood this long and haven't tried this place out. Went here with my family Sunday at opening, staff right away took care of us, right away the floors were clean white as well as the wood tables. Jennifer our waitress came by to make sure we were filled up on drinks and bread. The bread is legit too, reminds me of growing up having it fresh every day. The staff was very understanding of my families dietary restrictions so they offered some veggie options for my family as well. I myself had the vodka rigatoni. First thing I'll say is the noodles have a nice thickness to them which immediately told me these were made in house, a lot of times with pasta noodles they just take on whatever flavor profile is in the sauce, this was the first time in a long time both the pasta and the sauce had their own distinct flavor that complemented each other. The sauce wasn't too creamy either it was just right for my liking.I also tried out the minestrone which comes in a large portion but wow is it packed with flavor. Safe to say I think my SO and I will be back soon to try out more options, but for our first time, wow this was exceptional!”
“Opened about 25 years ago, as I was living in Chicago myself and ate here on average twice a week, for four years. 20 years later I'm back in Chicago for the first time since....and the food is as good, the place doubled in size but didn't lose its local charm and great attentive service. Drinks are fantastic, the tomaot sauce is as good as it gets. Simplicity and timeless classics all around, from the pasta dishes to the fantastic lamb chops. Did we mentioned the meat balls? So good.”
“This was a very cool place!! The staff treats everyone like family. Homemade sauces and pastas to go as well as hot food that you can eat at a handful of tables outside. Food was amazing!!! Great vibes at this place! I highly recommend!!!”
“I absolutely love this cozy, warm, friendly neighborhood gem - I love it more each visit!real Italian food, delicious handmade pasta. Great food, great vibe indoors and outdoors- quiet and convivial and charming - and the staff are always personable and offer outstanding service, whether dining in or for takeout. High caliber, without pretention. Always a total delight! You’ll love it too!”
“This is the best pizza I’ve ever had! We ordered Marinara Bianca pizza and caprese. The pizza is certainly authentic, thin crust, hand tossed Neapolitan style. You’ll be amazed by the balance between salty anchovies, freshness of the lemon olive oil and richness of mozzarella. The burrata cheese imported from Italy is creamy and fresh. highly recommended!”
“This place is unreal. Only been here twice and I don't know why it took so long to revisit. Everyone's already told how great the food is so I don't need to (they're all correct). This is about the service, the only reason I've seen poor reviews...Old school good customer service is certainly hard to find nowadays, I'm the first to echo that. Yet, I also feel for the folks who work food service, especially when a place has listed a closing time and someone comes in a half hour before, expecting the world. Here's what happened today:Place closes at 4 now, I get there at 3:30 (humble, not expecting much will be left - there's one difference people), they were still full open, one couple ahead of me. I wanted a beef, not knowing if they'd still have any left (they did). The couple ahead of me wasn't from the area and ordered a bunch of food to eat in. To eat in! I would think they'd say no way but Nottoli set a place for them! As in, no rush! That's above and beyond in my book. I got my sandwich to go (best beef I've ever had, and will be back weekly to try everything, if the paycheck allows) and these folks were just sitting down. This place is one of the best I've ever been to (in the country!)! Every employee I've ever encountered has been nothing but polite and professional; again, way above and beyond!***Added to review, as I forgot to mention - the owners/operators respond to the reviews, all of them, INCLUDING the bad. Absolute professionalism, hands down, one of, if not the BEST businesses (food related or not) left in the country! Above and beyond! They actually CARE! All businesses could learn a thing or two from here!”
“Such a nice restaurant! We had been looking for food and found this spot for dinner- the service was so hospitable they even let us in and served us 20 minutes before it even opened! The food was delicious, my favorite being the “The Speck” with prosciutto and arugula. Very nice area ”
“This is by far the best Italian food we have had in the city! The staff is absolutely amazing. You can see how hard they work to make their customers happy and to make sure everyone is enjoying their experience. Amazing quality delicious food!!!!! We will be back!!!!”
“We came here for a wedding dinner and our three course meal was catered. It was the hottest day of the year so it was a little toasty in the upstairs banquet room, but the wait staff was still so personable and friendly. They were genuinely happy for our newlyweds which was heart warming. The pasta, tiramisu, and wine selection were all fantastic. I would definitely return to try their regular menu when I am back in town. And if you are a fan of espresso martinis you better get you one because if not you are missing out.”
“What an amazing experience! ?I was treated to top-notch customer service at this gem of an Italian spot. From the moment we walked in, the staff was attentive and friendly. Now, onto the food adventure! I started with the Minestrone Soup, which was hearty and flavorful. My only wish was that it arrived a tad hotter, but that didn't spoil the fun. If you like it piping hot, don't hesitate to mention it when you order.Next up was the Spaghetti Frutti Di Mar, and oh boy, it was a seafood lover's dream come true! Picture spaghetti adorned with mussels, shrimp, and calamari – a true delight for the taste buds. But here's the best part – when they brought out the bread with garlic, I couldn't resist asking how to tackle it. The secret? Sprinkle Parmesan over the garlic, add a drizzle of olive oil, and use your fork to mash it all together. Voilà, instant garlic spread for your bread! Loved that touch. We dined al fresco, and it was nothing short of blissful. The weather was perfect, and even the chef himself made rounds to ensure everyone was relishing their meals. And let's not forget the generous portions – you'll likely be packing up some delicious leftovers for lunch the next day.In short, if you crave authentic Italian food, exceptional service, and a relaxed ambiance, this place is a must-visit. I know I'll be back after a long workday for another delightful Italian feast! ???I’m not good at remembering to take photos but I did take one.”
“Great go-to place for authentic Neapolitan style pizza! Had an enjoyable dinner here - ordered grilled seafood, salad, and pizza. The food is fresh, flavorful, and delicious! They also have a good wine and cocktail selection. Staff is friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience!”
“I never write reviews, but this place is so incredible here I am. I work within walking distance, and find myself here weekly for a delicious, inexpensive, high quality sandwich. I have also tried their frozen homemade pastas multiple times and have always loved it. Their fresh focaccia and homemade sausage is amazing as well. I always find something new to try and have never not loved it and come back for more. I love supporting family and local businesses, and this place has it all.”
“Hidden gem in old Irving park neighborhood. I was smitten at being greeted by a very senior matrede in a tux! Cozy, really delicious food, great wine, old school and reasonable. We enjoyed calamari - very tender, fresh, Caesar, farfalle mirabella and country rigatoni. Yum. They even do table side bananas foster! We'll be back”
“First time at Anto Pizza and Pasta and we loved it. The owners are so friendly and welcoming. We had the homemade lemon linguine, homemade tortellini vodka, spaghetti, arancini, and hand cut fries. Each was freshly prepared and tasted amazing. I love the idea of the pasta in a cone. Each of the pastas we tried were so flavorful. Authentic flavors that will have you craving for me. I will definitely be back to try the pizzas next time. They have indoor and outdoor seating and a party room as well. Check it out and enjoy.”
“Noisy restaurant with good food but they've definitely let some things become worn down. It's too bad - they have a good menu and the food is very good. It just is beginning to have that "worn chain restaurant " appearance and feel.”
“It's good and should be for the prices. For some reason we were not allowed to order appetizers without putting in our dinner order. Was strange but not a huge deal. The bread is not worth the charge. Love the atmosphere but at these prices they have serious competition.”
“Ordered 2 pasta and it’s more than enough for 2 people. The scallop&fettuccine and roasted mushroom Risotto. Both really good! The Scallop portion is huge and the Fettuccine itself is really heavy on lemon juice - but the combination somehow works. Average about 35/person.”
“Celebrated a graduation at this pizzeria. Delicious pizza overall, and the molten chocolate was divine. When a pizzeria nails their Margherita, you know it's a good place. But the real standout was the service. The team and especially our server, Nico, organized a special candle-lit cake for the new grad, and accommodated all our specific requests very well.”
“seasoned service staff who know their jobs and pay attn. our food was high quality and the prices were reasonable by today's standards. the place is attractive and the noise level is tolerable for older people who don't want to shout over dinner.”
“Wonderful dinner. Manager Fidelma was professional and suggested that the outdoor patio might be more enjoyable tonight and it was. We had the most efficient and knowledgeable wait person. Her name was Avery and ask for her. Food: perfect starter of margherita pizza for four of us plus the capers salad with heirloom tomatoes delicious Short rib entre one of the best ever. Order of rigatoni with mushrooms enough for two to share and my Chicken Mario was a copy of what I had in Florence at Sostanza. Topped off with a dark chocolate tart and coffee. Delicious and very reasonably priced. Great location too.”
“Perfect for a midday meal! Visited this place with co-workers during the workweek, and we were pleased to find numerous tables on the spacious, protected patio. The space felt airy, thanks to ample natural light. For a satisfying yet not-too-heavy lunch option, we opted for Nonna's Meatball Salad, which provided a sufficient amount of protein to keep us going. The meatballs, drenched in a delightful sauce, were undoubtedly the highlight of the dish, while the accompanying salad components were fairly standard. To complete our delightful dining experience, we treated ourselves to some San Pellegrino.”
“I don’t know where to begin… the rigatoni and dumpling dishes are absolutely insane. All the hype around those two dishes are incredibly deserved. They recognized our celebration and brought us custom congratulation menus and ice cream post meal. They brought fresh silverware every course and were very attentive of our whole dining experience.”
“How am I only discovering this place now?! Delicious, fresh food at reasonable price; airy and clean environment; very friendly, efficient staff. I had the Italian sub with Swiss cheese and it may be the best sandwich I’ve ever had, really hit the spot :) lots of take out orders happening while I was here.”
“I didn’t get the chance to eat there yet. However, I had a catering order for a meeting scheduled for the next day. The meeting got cancelled last minute due to covid and I emailed right away and got a response immediately saying they were sorry I came all this way and of course they’ll refund everything and wished me safe travels back home. AMAZING service! I will be back next time I’m in the city!!”
“LOVE this place!! This is the 3rd time I’ve been to Sal’s and it never disappoints. I highly recommend the burrata as its some of the best I’ve ever had. We got the fusilli and cacio e pepe, but I would also recommend the carbonara. The service is excellent and the inside of the restaurant is quaint and romantic. Can’t wait to go back!”
“I love this place. Everything is delicious. I always get the Sicilian steak sandwich and the mushrooms with Continental sauce. It’s my favorite. All my kids love to eat here and we’ve tried almost everything. The employees are always kind and nice. I’ve never once had a bad experience. My husband grew up going there, and it’s worth the drive for the food and service. It doesn’t have a big seating area, But the foods worth it to take home. Thank you for being delicious and Kind!!!!”
“Absolutely loved this place! Olive oil and Parmesan for bread dipping was delicious. Caprese salad was excellent. Homemade pasta with their red sauce with sausage was amazing.Their decaf cappuccino was as good as it gets. We had to split a large cannoli with the coffee!”
“Stumbled upon this spot and was pleasantly surprised! Beautiful interior and a nice patio area too, kind staff, and really flavorful food!We tried the carbonara and prosciutto crudo and burrata pizza and both were delicious! The portions seemed very reasonable for the prices and the quality was really nice.Vegetarian options: They have vegan and vegetarian options, and even daily specials including a discount on vegan items on Thursdays”
“A few years ago I decided to order trays of meatballs and cheese ravioli for my son’s birthday party. The food was delicious, there was a lot of it, and the price was great! I’ve ordered the same thing every year since for both my kids’ birthdays. The food is always fantastic and the employees are always super friendly and helpful. I always buy some cannolis when I pick up the food because they’re amazing too!”
“Posting for my parents who just hosted my brother and future sister-in-law's bridal shower. We had a great experience from beginning to end. Kelly was extremely helpful with the planning and Susan and Crystal did a great job and were very efficient serving our party the day of. Food was delicious and loved the venue ambience.”
“Great experience all around. Lively and great music. The food tasted like something my mom would make (if she was Italian with a recipe that’s been shared across generations). My girlfriend and I want to come back and order different entrees because we enjoyed trying each others meal and they were distinct in flavor. Makes us curious to try others!Bravo! See you again!”
“Excellent food and service. You have to start with sausage & peppers and calamari (lightly seasoned and breaded, some of the best I've ever had). Very very tasty lasagna made with a béchamel sauce! Also, the manicotti was top notch, made with crepe like manicotti noodles. Desserts were good as well. Carrot cake was moist with just the right amount of frosting. And you can't beat the prices!”
“Came to celebrate two of my friends and it was so great!!! This was probably one of the best italian restaurants I’ve been to in Chicago that was a bang for your buck too! Great service, amazing food and exceptional portion sizes! Definitely coming back!!”
“Good place but one minus - they did not warn you about calories, volume and fat content of dishes. This pizza was too bid for our family and we even could not finish one pieces each. It was too fat for us. That was just for experience with famous type of Chicago pizza. In opposite to pizza the plate with salad and appetizer was pretty tasty )”
“Club Lago is a great neighborhood bar and restaurant - a real classic. The food is excellent and the staff are extremely attentive and friendly. It's a family-run place with real care put into everything they do. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Chicago!”
“Dined last night with my Mom and Son as we have been wanting to go here for some time. Started our meal with warm, crusty Italian bread with infused garlic olive oil on table with cheese. House salad was served in cold bowl, very hearty with homemade Italian dressing. Minestrone soup could have been served a bit warmer. Two of us ordered the Sea Bass over angle hair pasta which melted in your mouth. My son had the veal with mushrooms, equally as delicious and tender.Would have enjoyed some soft music playing in the background.Parking: Vacant 7 Eleven store next to restaurant is where we parked. Limited street parking.”
“So Glad we Came to here from Arizona for 50th Anniversary and 75th Birthday to Celebrate with Family and Friends. Really could not have been Better! It was Great! Staff, Food, Service! Etc.Kid-friendliness: Staff was great with little people .Even helped with some pictures. All Good! Memorable ✨Parking: Many places do not have Parking in the area - these folks do”
“What a magnificent place to go for pasta and Italian food! It is freshly made pasta which you can see them do it!The food was absolutely amazing, the appetizer options are great, we had the focaccia with mortadella, for the entrees we had a special pasta that was there just for the day and we also had the pasta with the beef RaguWe also had a special dessert which is a donut pitched to us by one of the owners which was lovely!!Sitting inside or outside is amazing and you can see some Italian grocery products thereTotally going back again and again!!!Parking: You gotta be lucky to find street parking”
“Review is for dinner:Not the best italian food BUT that doesn’t mean it wasn’t good! I got the ravioli and my partner got one of the tortellini dishes. Her dish was definitely better but mine was decent as well. I would order something else next time, however. The sorbet was DELICIOUS.Came in without a reservation and got sat on the patio. Server was very nice and attentive. Atmosphere is very cozy and nice - almost as if your grandma turned her sunroom and patio into a nice dining area.Would go back and try something else - also sounds like the deli is excellent so need to try that as well!”
“best coffee & sandwiches hands down in all of chicago/ norridge not to mention their pastries are out of this world…& the customer service is right on the money, extremely helpful & polite. 2 of my favorite things when it comes to going into establishment for the first time. There’s a reason they are “chicagos best 5 years running” thank you guys & gals for always being so patient and friendly to me!!”
“My partner brought me here for my birthday and I had a wonderful experience. The main room is low lit and extremely beautiful— lovely art pieces on the walls, nice wallpaper, and well thought out statement pieces of art. Our waiter was extremely nice and gave us great recommendations for apps and entrees. We got the shrimp jovan and froi gras for apps, and the sea bass and lamb chops for entrees. Both the apps were delicious, but the shrimp jovan was especially incredible. The sea bass was definitely the highlight of my night, and my partner loved the lamb chops. For dessert, we got the chocolate pudding which was on the house and came with a little candle in it. It was very rich in a good way. Overall 10/10, would definitely recommend for a romantic evening!!”
“Always look forward to seeing mike and his excellent team at Nonno Pino's. Been coming here since they opened when a friend of mine owned it and then switched owners and they never missed a beat. Solid food , great atmosphere and easy to get to ! No need to waste your money and time going downtown for an overpriced meal...... these guys beat them hands down all day long !”
“We were visiting and someone told to try their deep dish pizza so we went there. Veggie deep dish- the Lou and thin crust with olives and jalapeños were awesome! Garlic bread needed some cheese. Chilli flakes were really spicy and enjoyed it a lot!!”
“My wife and I were visiting family who live down the street from Tutto and they brought us here for dinner our last night. It was one of their favorite neighborhood restaurants and after eating here I could see why. The atmosphere was really great, made you feel like you were sitting inside an old school Italian joint. We sat outside on their patio, which was covered except for a short portion near the street, and the vibe was fantastic. The service itself was something to be desired but the food made up for the service lacking. I ordered the Pollo Vesuvio and it was insanely delicious. The flavors were all great and everything that came with the meal paired very well with each other. Everyone else’s order looked phenomenal as well. We can’t wait to visit again so we can come here for dinner one of the nights we’re in town!Kid-friendliness: We were with our niece and nephew and this was their favorite place to eat - so I would assume they’re somewhat kid friendly.”
“Ah, Coda di Volpe, where the ambiance subtly whispers "sophisticated Italian villa" and the food loudly proclaims, "Mamma mia, that's delicious!" Stepping into this establishment feels like being teleported straight to Italy, minus the jet lag and the over-enthusiastic street performers. It's as if Leonardo da Vinci and my Nonna had a decor battle, and both won.As for the food, each dish seemed to have graduated with honors from the University of Flavor Town. The pasta was so authentically Italian; I half expected it to break into an opera aria. And the pizza? Crispy, chewy, and with flavor that was out of this world. But the real star of the evening? Our waitress, Catie F. I haven't seen someone juggle plates, orders, and funny anecdotes quite like her. It's as if she trained at the Harvard School of Hospitality with a minor in acrobatics. She even remembered it was my birthday! Mamma mia!In conclusion, if you're seeking an Italian experience that’s a delightful blend of gastronomic brilliance and decor that tells a thousand tales, Coda di Volpe has you covered. And if you're lucky enough to be served by Catie F, well, brace yourself for service so good you might just attempt to say your gratitudes in Italian by the end of the night. Grazie mille, Coda di Volpe!”
“Was here a few times. Most of the time I struggle to choose a dish and it was very nice of Sofia to advise me to go with agnolotti with alfredo sauce. This waitress is pretty attentive and always lifts up the mood. Adds to the meal! Wish such places had more such employees who really care and show up for their visitors :)”
“My mother and I went out to dinner before a show. Our server was Mandy and she was absolutely wonderful. She explained the menu well and was able to answer all of our questions. My mom was so impressed by the decor and atmosphere we were seated for all of five minutes before she commented in how much she enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was so good and plenty that we both left with doggy bags. I have no complaints and will definitely be back”
“Folks if you want brand new there’s more than enough choices for a steakhouse in Chicago, if you want an original old school environment, a great meal where you can actually hear yourself and what your dining companions are saying, then Gene and Georgetti is the place you need to try.We went for dinner and Michelle and staff could not have been more caring and helpful getting us the table we wanted. As for the food the highlights were the fried calamari, steaks and Veal Marsala. All delicious. Sides and garbage salad all huge and great. For dessert we had our favorite, the spumoni. So you think it’s just ice cream what’s the big deal?Trust me, it’s amazing, made just for this great Chicago institution. There’s always going to be a place in the Chicago restaurant world for great food, great drinks and being able to carry on a conversation. We’ll be back very soon.”
“This a a beautiful, calming space. From the moment I arrived, the service was great. I was acknowledged as I arrived at the hostess podium but the hostess was also serving food. I was then seated right away as I waited on my guest to arrive. Once my guest arrived we were able to order drinks & an appetizer. The drinks and appetizer was great. After the first drink and bite, our waiter/bartender took our order and I requested a squid pasta seafood dish that's not on the menu (I don't even know the name of it but it was a suggestion by another patron) and it was amazing. Go get this dish....spicy and really made for two, but the clams, shrimp and lobster tail....chefs kiss ?”
“My recent dining experience at Trattoria Porretta Ristorante Pizzeria and Catering in Chicago was a true culinary delight, offering an authentic taste of Italy and an inviting ambiance that made me feel like I was dining in a traditional trattoria in the heart of Italy.Upon entering Trattoria Porretta, the warm and welcoming atmosphere immediately embraced me. The restaurant's charming decor, with rustic brick walls, Italian artwork, and soft lighting, created a cozy and inviting setting that set the stage for a memorable Italian dining experience. The menu at Trattoria Porretta featured a wide selection of classic Italian dishes, including mouthwatering pizzas and homemade pastas. After much contemplation, I decided to try their "Margherita Pizza" and their "Fettuccine Alfredo."”
“Gussie's is fantastic! The bread with garlic & cream cheese is to die for. I had the evening special of scallops & wild mushroom ravioli (hopefully it's a permanent item on the menu now) was phenomenal! The lemon curd pie was a bit like key lime pie so not true lemon curd but still tasty. Cocktails are fabulous and the service is friendly & professional. Gussie’s is located across the street from Second City so perfect for dinner & a show. I've been twice and will definitely return!”
“If you are a fan of classic italian dishes than this one is for you. Excellent pasta dishes that are true to their roots and executed perfectly. Each dish has only the freshest ingredients that are complimented by time tested recipes. The food and menu are flawless, which is also it’s weakness. At the high price points, one has to ask is a perfect cacio e pepe worth 26 dollars. (And I mean perfect…) I cannot answer that one for you, but I can say is that you will not have anything new or memorable at gioia. With exciting restaurants around the corner, (rosemary is croatian, but they share a border) Gioia feels like it is still stuck in the 90s. A safe solid spot in a very competitive market.”
“We had reservations but decided to sit at the bar. So glad we did. Met a few great couples we chatted with and they gave lots of other local recommendations, even drew us a map! LOL. The bartender was Addyson. She was amazing with her recommendations. We just wanted a snack because the night was young! Had the mussels in white wine sauce & the artichoke. Delicious. If you are visiting or just looking for a great local spot, look no further.”
“Thin crust pepperoni pizza is soo yummy! I bought an 18” pizza for myself and ate it for 10 days! Was even better microwaved or just eaten out the fridge! Didn’t care too much for the chocolate chip cheesecake, next time i’ll try the carrot cake for sure. Service was great for how busy they were on a friday evening. The prices are also fairly reasonable, so glad i live 3 blocks from this joint. Will be returning again and again!!!”
“Go for the service, stay for the food and wine. Considering I arrived at 9:30 p.m. directly from the airport, when at that time I should have been on a flight to Indonesia, I was stressed. And that's why I took myself on a date and chose this place that I've long wanted to dine in. It was worth the wait. Michelle had me at hello, and she never stopped smiling, even if/when she thought she was out of the guest's purview. A warm, kind, and affable being, she epitomizes great service. Yes, the food was seductively delicious, the red wine she recommended on a chilly and rainy night was sublime, and the atmosphere was romantic. I loved that there was not loud music, in fact, I don't recall music at all. Many restaurants can offer all of this, if they wish, but they don't have Michelle. The winning formula of superb service, including the kitchen team who wasn't expecting anymore guests for the night and had shut down but fired things up to prepare my gnocchi and short rib dishes, the ambiance and the wine, makes this a 5 star. In fact, I was on my way back the next night to treat myself to wine and dessert, and hoping I'd have Michelle again as my server. But looking at the time of day and that I didn't make reservations, I thought better of the idea. Back to date night. To top it off, I met the most delightful and charming young couple, to whom I'm now connected. Overall, Indonesia will always be there, but there was only one date night like this night. And this is why I always yield to the command of the universe. I'll be back!”
“I love coming here when I want an evening to feel just a tiny bit more special than usual. The food is always top tier, and the staff is always super friendly. My one nitpick, is I wish the Happy Hour menu had at least one mocktail offering--I love going with friends for happy hour, but I can't drink alcohol with a medication I'm on. It's always a little bit of a bummer.”
“I love this place, and lucky for me it's right in my neighborhood. Old-school independently-owned restaraunt vibes...I've gone plenty of times and it's always the same bartender, host, server, etc. Food is incredible, my favorite was probably this pasta dish featured here (forget the name) or the winter salad, which is mixed greens, goat cheese, pear, balsamic, candied nuts...just incredible. Not a huge drinker but they have a full bar which you can also sit at if you want (tvs are there for sports, etc).Despite the TVs in the bar it still retains a very posh and intimate atmosphere. My only advice is bring your wallet and a sweater in case you get cold -- they keep it nice and cool for the workers who are always busting their butts while still remaining smiling and friendly.Parking: Easy peasy”
“Man, I’m still thinking about this pizza - even more so after I saw someone carry a Giordano pizza box on a plane back to Canada.Grabbed 1 pizza and split it into two - meat lovers and a custom veggie dish with feta. Both delicious. Ordered Parmesan fries as we waited. It will take approximately 45min for your deep dish to be madeIt’s a heavy pizza, I could only eat 2 slices. The best part, eating the leftover at the hotel the next day - it was the best thing ever! Cold deep dish pizza leftover - man hit the spot. Wish there was one of these in Toronto.Highly recommend!”
“I came here for my birthday dinner and the service was great. They really made it special by bringing sparkling wine and ice cream cones at the end of our meal. I loved the bread they have as a starter it was amazing!! Sadly the meatballs we got as a starter were cold and the brussels sprouts our table ordered to go along with our meal did not come out until we were finished eating. They did take the brussels off the bill however. The pasta dish I got was not my favorite it was not very flavorful sadly. I’m not sure if I would highly recommend this place to go for dinner.”
“My recent visit to Craft Pizza left me thoroughly impressed! The pizzas were an absolute delight – the crust had that ideal balance of crispy and chewy, and the quality of toppings was top-notch. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it a great spot to unwind. The staff's warm and attentive service added to the experience. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to savor more of their delicious offerings. If you're a pizza enthusiast, this place is a must-try!”
“Came here while visiting Chicago. The service and atmosphere were good. Our server was attentive and the food arrived rather quickly for each course. There were a couple of standout dishes but most of them were just ok. The Squash Blossoms and Roman Artichokes were delicious and I would definitely recommend them. The Pizza A Metro was another very tasty and well executed dish. The rest of our food was fine but not really exceptional or worth going back for. The Cacio e Pepe while cooked well was underwhelming and not as flavorful as I was hoping for. The Porchetta was a bit dryer than expected. Overall, it was a good meal but I'm not sure if I would go back anytime soon.”
“Skip Tortello (another pasta shop nearby) entirely because the food here slaps HARD. Best pasta in Chicago, hands down.We got our food as soon as we walked in and inhaled it in 5 minutes. Couldn’t stop eating!Order ahead and you’ll guarantee your pasta before they run out. BYOB.”
“Everything was exceptional. Our server was friendly, energetic, knowledgeable about the drink and food menu, and made excellent recommendations. The ambiance was perfect for a Saturday night dinner vibe. It was a very sleek, sophisticated place for an adult dinner.”
“Osteria Langhe presented a nice all around dinner for our group. Service was good, but certainly not a highlight of the meal. We started with the scallops which were a big hit followed by the tagliatelle bolognese and ravioli which were both good but weren’t life changing. The rabbit and polenta were excellent, but the truffle risotto was a let down, with only the taste of truffles and no other flavors really coming through. Also at least replace the nasty mirror in the bathroom for the prices they charge. Overall 4.2/5.”
“If you're seeking a culinary oasis in the heart of Chicago, look no further than La Nonna – a hidden gem that captures the essence of Italian cuisine with a touch of Chicago's culinary flair. My recent visit to this charming restaurant left an indelible mark on my taste buds, especially after experiencing the gastronomic wonder that is their Dinner Burger! From the moment I stepped foot into La Nonna, I was enamored by its warm and inviting ambiance. The rustic decor, soft lighting, and enchanting Italian melodies whisked me away to the idyllic streets of Tuscany, yet the restaurant effortlessly retained its Chicago roots. A perfect blend of old-world charm and modern sophistication! Now, let's delve into the star of the evening – the Dinner Burger! My taste buds were in for an extraordinary treat as I savored every bite of this divine creation. Nestled between the softest brioche bun I've ever had, the juicy and perfectly cooked beef patty tantalized my senses. The combination of aged cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, and a secret house-made sauce imbued the burger with an explosion of flavors that danced harmoniously on my palate. Accompanied by crispy hand-cut fries and a delightful side salad, this dish was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. What made the experience even more exceptional was the attentive and cheerful service provided by our waitress, Sarah. With her infectious smile and genuine passion for her job, Sarah exuded warmth and made us feel like treasured guests. She was well-versed in the restaurant's menu, offering valuable recommendations and ensuring our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. Her attention to detail and willingness to accommodate our preferences elevated our dinner to a memorable occasion.Beyond the Dinner Burger, La Nonna's menu boasts an impressive selection of traditional Italian dishes, each prepared with love and an unwavering commitment to quality. Whether you're a fan of classic pasta dishes, wood-fired pizzas, or delectable seafood, the restaurant leaves no stone unturned in its quest to appease even the most discerning palates. In conclusion, La Nonna is an oasis of culinary bliss in the bustling city of Chicago. From the moment you step inside, you're whisked away on a delightful journey that celebrates the heart and soul of Italian cuisine. The Dinner Burger alone is worth the visit, and the warm hospitality from waitresses like Sarah adds an unforgettable touch to the entire experience. So, whether you're a Chicago local or a visitor seeking a culinary adventure, make your way to La Nonna and indulge in a dining affair that will leave you yearning for more!Disclaimer: The mentioned waitress's name, Sarah, is entirely fictional and used for creative purposes only. Any resemblance to real individuals is purely coincidental.”
“Seriously the best Italian beef I'd ever had in my whole life!!!! The cheap, affordable price and friendly staff are just wonderful bonus. It is my first visit to Chicago before noon and this place is so much more worthy than other deep dish places in terms of the value for price!!Just try it and you'll see. The best breakfast&lunch place in downtown.”
“Amato’sPizza is down the street from my house. So the convenience is awesome. My good luck in this, is it’s a really good pizza place. Plus the wings(even my old mom likes them) and any of the other appetizers. I had this chocolate cake brownie thing that rivals bakery desserts-and this is all my Take-Out experience! Yeah, they’re good.”
“We love Calabria Imports and have been coming here for years. I am Italian and can be very picky with Italian food. But when we were hosting our daughter's engagement party this summer and we decided to get a food truck, the choice was obvious... Calabria on Wheels. Pat & Julia were so accommodating, attentive and most importantly, the food was incredible. Even our guests couldn't stop raving about the service and the food. Thank you for making our day even more perfect!”
“Drove from Virginia to Chicago Aug.22 to drop of my kid @ DePaul Theatre Conservatory, exhausted & the heat (Chicago what is up with 100°+ days to move into the dorm!). Anna Marie’s looked good, It was exactly what we wanted & needed. We split a Caesar salad, wonderful homemade dressing, the Pollo Vesuvio, exactly the comforting food we needed. Tiffany is a gem, she seated us & was our server as well. The environment was homey, cool on the hot day, Tiffany makes an excellent Lemon Drop! The Tiramisu is an entirely other level, (voted best in Chicago) heavenly!Discount if you pay cash! Planning my next trip, Anna Marie’s has already been selected for the birthday dinner! Thank you, Tiffany! we will see you in Nov. If I could give this higher score I would!”
“I’ve been here a few times and have enjoyed each experience. The atmosphere is really nice, dark enough for socializing and eating, but bright enough to see around the table. The staff have always been great and provide great recommendations if you aren’t sure what to order. The drinks are really good - the mango martini definitely always hits the spot.I would definitely try this place out if you enjoy Italian food and want something new.”
“We really liked the pasta and the portion sizes were HUGE! We got the spaghetti and meatballs and the chopped salad to share :) the server anticipated all our needs before we needed to ask. The music playing was also really good. Our only suggestion is that there should be a dish named “Im Pasta Bowl”Five stars! We’ll come back in 3-5 years when we run out of leftovers”
“This place is a gem! The outside seating and the delicious smell that welcomes you as you are passing by the place is just beautiful! The calamari was super good and the pasta dishes were fresh, flavorful, and very filling! Make sure you grab a bottle of wine as well!”
“This is a fantastic restaurant! The food is excellent and the menu always has options for people with different tastes (i.e., vegetarian or meat lover) or dietary restrictions (i.e., gluten-free). And if you get a chance to dine in, the decor and staff are lovely. I highly recommend. ”
“A lovely neighborhood spot.Great service, family friendly.Do not go here if you can’t eat carbs lol…their bread is probably the best bread I’ve EVER had! Truly amazing. We also had the burrata (awesome), Limone chicken and carbonara. We would have preferred the carbonara with pancetta but it was still delicious. The limone chicken was unique flavor and good portion sizes. Eager to try more items on their menu.”
“Not the greatest Italian I've had in Chicago, but really good and super local. The handmade pasta is a stand out for me. But definitely try the pizza, more Roman style that many may be used to, so it's crunchy and fluffy. The acoustics of the restaurant are a bit noisy, mostly because it is a smaller space. Very clean.”
“My family and I cherish every meal had here. Craving good Italian food? Look no further than a Chicago staple.Kid-friendliness: My son has been running around this restaurant all his life - often with friends! I love knowing that understand that kids need to get their “wiggles” out. I just make sure we don’t collide with the staff carrying food ? ?”
“came here to check out a local restaurant with some buddies on a sunday night. we were seated immediately, and the staff was quick and friendly with service. to start, the menu is so massive, there is lots of variety. we got the four cheese thick crust 14' pizza with magic herb on the crust. the pizza crust was yummy, and tasted great. i would say it feeds about 3 people roughly. on the brightside, it is vegan. on the downside, the crust has soy (margarine in it) so soy allergies cannot have the regular crust. (they do have a gluten free without soy). our waiter was very open about helping us with the allergies at our table and I appreciate that. price is good for how much food you get. vibe is chill in the place.Vegetarian options: pizza crust is vegan”
“A little gem of a restaurant. Very courteous service. The food list is limited, but sufficient. We only wished there were a couple of more vegetarian options. But the two we had - the Bruscheta and Arancini were fantastic. The wine was wonderful also. Definitely would love to go back.”
“Everything was delicious… very well prepared, beautifully served, and prepared quickly as well. The service was quite slow though… there was only one bartender so she was definitely overworked and drinks took a while…We’d definitely go again for the food!”
“We came to Riccardo Osteria for our Bachelorette weekend dinner. Everyone at the restaurant was easy to work with and accommodating. They were able to seat our party of 9 with ease. Our waitress provided recommendations on how and what to order based on our party size. Affordable prices & really good food. Indoor and outdoor seating with open windows throughout made for great ambiance and breeze.”
“Loved the personal touch to their delicious food!!Service was top notch and everyone is welcoming and kind. The servings are amazing for the price. I would highly recommend this family run business to anyone. The ambiance is quality as well. Absolutely even worth a commute to eat here. We loved it. Anna is an amazing chef.”
“Went for a solo lunch. And I found this place to be perfect. The atmosphere is perfect for an intimate experience. Service was great. Waiters were very attentive. Now the food….this is when things get sketchy. The food is not great. Not horrible, but I believe their prices should also reflect that. My crab cakes were slightly overcooked on the bottom, enough to notice a charred taste. Presentation of drinks and food was divine, but I personally felt like everything lacked that deep flavor. Overall if you want to catch a quaint vibe this place could be a decent choice, however they need to humble their prices a bit. Would have gave three stars, but great service gained them four.”
“You can never go wrong with a great big serving of pasta! On our date night we both had different dishes and both were very delicious, creamy, hearty and the small was through the roof. I had the lucky penne which I never order and it was great. Creamy with a dash of spice. I added chicken which enhanced the taste. My fiancées dish was delicious as well. The server was kind and service was fast. It was busy but we didn’t wait long at all for the appetizer or the entree. Plus watching the line cooks make the meals is a great site to see.”
“The moment we entered the place we saw smiling happy faces. As if they were very happy to see us at 10:45PM! It was a great atmosphere, happy staff, great service! Vicky our waitress was super nice. She's attentive of our needs while dining in. From the refill of our drinks (we never had an empty glass), to napkins, and serving our food. The Food was always great at Giordano's! The Best Pizza in the world! Don't forget the delicious selections of drinks!”
“Have enjoyed going to Vinci since I moved to Chicago in 2007. Wonderful place, people, staff, food, and by name; my friend Clyde. Truly a unique place that I recommend, not just for dinner, also a great venue for private events and celebrations. Hope anyone reading this is compelled to visit and enjoy the same experience as I have.Vegetarian options: Just ask your server, and the chefs will oblige.Kid-friendliness: Not just kid friendly, kid safety. Staff is mindful and makes sure everyone's experience is amazing and safe for kids.”
“First time trying on a Friday night we went in a little late arund 9 pm they were open until 10. They were very friendly and helpful with the menu when we had questions. It was our first time there. The pizza and bar drinks were so good ! We will be back.”
“A solid all-around spot for deep dish pizza in Chicago with exceptional service! We ordered the Blueberry Pecan Salad and a Large deep dish pizza with artichoke and canadian bacon to share among 4 people. The deep dish pizza here is noticeably better than the chain spots like Lou’s or Giordano’s, though it was still a little bland and could use a bit more flavor overall. The blueberry pecan salad was a huge highlight: the combination of crunchy and creamy textures of the nuts, cheese, and blueberries was very pleasant. The sweet dressing was a really great pairing to the nutty pecan flavor. The service here was really wonderful— our server was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout. The prices are also solid and reasonable. The restaurant was pretty empty when we went for lunch on Sunday, but the space is spacious and the ambience is chill.—Price (relative to peers): 4.5/5Food: 4.3/5Ambience: 5/5Service: 5/5Overall Value: 4.5/5”
“Was there last Saturday in the middle of the day during a Cubs game. The restaurant had several regulars there and I believe just the owner/bar tender. My wife and I (tourist to Chicago from Texas) were treated like we were part of the everyday crew. The German/ Italian food was fantastic and I did shots with the owner. This little jewel of a restaurant made our day great!”
“Went with my wife to celebrate my birthday. Looking for good food, service, and relaxing ambiance. Got it all and more! Very friendly welcome as if truly happy to see us come in. Very nice atmosphere of an inviting, low lighting, quiet dinner crowd. Immediately, sat us. Host gave us a choice of tables. A nice evening so we chose a table next to large open front windows. Our waiter, Diego, was wonderfully engaging and funny, personable. Drinks very good; appetizer was a kale salad, delicious and main course portions were extremely generous. I had my favorite chicken Parmigiano - perfect. Diego brought out a large piece of tiramisu for my birthday, on the house. Had to take two boxes to go. The perfect evening.”
“Great, friendly & speedy service from our waiter. The timing of the meal was perfect due to how quickly the pizzas cook in the oven. The pizzas were delicious (Biancalana & Margherita). Cocktails were served quickly made to specific request (espresso martini not too sweet). Only critique would be that it was quite warm in the dining area despite being a mild evening. 100% would come back”
“This was my first time here and decided to sit at the bar to have a couple of drinks. Service was great and I recommend ordering a Margarita. I wish I would've tried the food though. Overall, it's a classy spot and would visit again.Photos below:1. Margarita2. Shot3. Bar view”
“There's something extra special about bringing home a white box all tied up and labeled with Ferrara's gold sticker. You feel the love that Ferrara's staff puts into everything they make. The quality of the ingredients makes all the difference in the world. My Nonno used to order cakes from here when I was a kid and I'm so grateful I can relive those delectable moments as I hit a milestone birthday this weekend. Il mio cuore é felice!”
“Lovin the crust on this pizza slice i had a cheese slice 5/5 something in the pizza that makes you want to have a bite one after the other. I will def be comming back. You can really taste the love in the pizza from the crust to the sauce to the cheese.”
“Amazing restaurant with delicious food and incredible service! We loved every minute of our dinner and would highly recommend Trattoria Gianni for anyone looking for a place that reminds them what quality dining used to be like! We will definitely be back! Thank you for a beautiful evening!”
“If you are new to Chicago and need a bar to make friends, this is the one. They have great wings, two nights of karaoke and trivia on Tuesdays. The staff is the absolute best and they make sure to remember you when you come back as long as you're respectful. I love this place and happy to say I've built something of a community here. Lastly it's a great spot if you're not drinking as they bartenders are happy to whip up non alcoholic mocktails!”
“Met my parents here for my Birthday dinner. They were driving into the city from the south suburbs, so this was a perfect meet up location. The food was excellent. We all loved our entrees. Service was absolutely perfect. Our server was so attentive and helpful. The ambience itself is a perfect neighborhood Italian place. The problem was just how incredibly loud the restaurant was. It wasn't music, it was just people. They desperately need more sound panels. We couldn't hear ourselves talk and felt like we had to rush through the dinner so we could go somewhere else to actually catch up. It's definitely a bummer, because we would definitely be back if we knew we could converse during our meal.”
“Hidden neighborhood gem. We have been here a few times and it’s consistently amazing. Delicious food and attentive service. It’s quiet and romantic. It’s also family friendly, I have seen families here with kids and the staff has been so accommodating and kind to family dining. Just order anything from the menu and you will be pleased. We LOVED our dinner. We ordered dessert but ate it before I could take a picture. So grateful we have this amazing restaurant in our neighborhood!”
“This place is a hidden gem in the city. Sorta off the beaten path, but if you're looking for great Italian Food consider it. The owner was super friendly and very charismatic, but the quick lunch they prepared was fantastic. We had heard from others that the Breaded Steak Sandwich was the best.., so I had to try it. The Breaded Steak Sandwich was off the charts good, the flavor of the sauce the crispy texture of the steak while still retaining it's tenderness, it was just a great sandwich. In my rankings the best Steak Sandwich in the city and surrounding suburbs. I will be coming for dinner as well because it has a cool little atmosphere plus a BYOB policy. Enjoy a GREAT ITALIAN dinner while enjoying your favorite bottle of wine as well, or your favorite beer. I look forward to having dinner here as well. 9.1 out of 10 for their breaded steak sandwich!~Apologies for no pic, it smelled so good, I ate it before snapping a quick pic. Reason for me to come back!”
“Other than a bit windy, we absolutely loved our outdoor dining at this restaurant. Our waiter was superb and the food amazing. Large portions- we split Brussels sprouts appetizer and the bread that comes were delicious and filling. We split the orchietta with spicy sausage - fantastic!! Great Sicilian red wine too. Love this place!!”
“I was visiting Navy Pier when I came across this place and decided to give it a try. I tried their Italian Beef Samwitch and their Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich. The Italian Beef Samwitch was loading with beef and sauce but can get soggy very quickly. I really enjoyed their Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich. Both sandwiches came with two little potato wedges. There can be a bit of a wait especially for the Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich as it does need to be toasted in the oven. Also, this place is card only and they do charge a 3% credit card fee.”
“Since we were visiting Chicago we had to give this place a try! Do note that pizzas will take ~35 minutes to prepare so make sure to plan for this!Items we ordered as of 8/2023- Malnati Chicago Classic (Personal) - $14.89 - I really enjoyed this one. The patty is disc shaped and pressed into the pizza. Big fan of the crust! - The Lou - $15.09 - If you're not a sausage person then this is the one to get. Not too heavy and the garlic crust is delicious!- Caesar Salad - $10.59 - Pleasantly surprised with the quantity we got here for the price! Nothing special but the value is great. I'd get this again.Since we got the personal sizes there was no display of being served from a cast deep dish pan (You'd probably need to get at least a small to have this). If it wasn't for the fact we were eating all day I'd spring for a small size for sure!”
“Loved our meal here! We had the vongole and the artichokes for an appetizer. Both were so fresh and flavorful. The drinks were wonderful. The service and atmosphere were great too. No complaints, all good. And the prices are fair. Highly recommend!”
“We had a lovely night on the patio. We had pesto pasta, honey pizza and arugula salad. Everything tasted so delicious. The pizza was our favorite. It's such a lovely place to have dinner, private outdoor space in busy golf coast seems more like a neighborhood restaurant. This place is one of our favorites.”
“I used to live right near Wrigley. I used to pop in here for slices and full pizzas all the time. The owners are great and the guy making the pizzas in the back were always super friendly and nice. I hope they see this review and I hope they are doing well! I cannot recommend this place enough.”
“I came here wanting the basics. You know like, mozzarella sticks, garlic bread, spaghetti & meat balls and Alfredo with a steak on the side. To my surprise they had none of that. However the kind waitress recommended other dishes and I was open to it. My son had the kids traditional spaghetti ? (didn’t come with meatballs) and I tried the Penne arrabbiata (spicy marinara garlic mostaccioli with sausage chucks). It was really good. Honestly, if I would have checked out the menu before coming in, I probably wouldn’t have stopped here. Only because, I really wanted some steak and cheese sticks lol but I’m glad I went in all gung-ho! It was a pleasant experience. The ambiance was peaceful, the waitress was super kind and the food was delicious.”
“My partner and I had a wonderful dinner on Friday night, August 25th. Unfortunately there was another couple there that night who made a scene because of the BYOB policy. The policy is posted on the front door before entering. The waiter reminded them of the policy and then they threw a fit, spoke down to the staff asking to speak to a manager and then the owner. They also threatened to leave a bad review. I think it's horrible for someone to try to hurt a small business because they didn't get their way. The staff was extremely professional and polite throughout the incident and apologized to my partner and I for witnessing the scene. The restaurant has nothing to apologize for. Their service and food is always fantastic!”
“I'm a bit embarrassed to admit this, so the last I was here was about 18 years ago. I liked the place then, but after today I'm in love with this place. It's come up so much and survived the recent "Trying Times." I had the regular size bread steak sandwich, get the value meal it is worth it. You get the sandwich (i got it with mozz and hot peppers), which was hefty, fries and a drink (I upgraded my drink to a large) for $20. F@#kin Delicious! They run a tight and well oiled ship. From when I ordered my food til I sat down, I think I waited 5 to 10 mins. Enough time for me get my utensils, napkins, straw and ketchup. The moderate lighting made feel comfortable. I was there about 40-45 minutes and I did not leave there hungry nor feel like I over paid for my food. Best $20 I have spent. And to think I was about double back on the place. Most go when in the area or should u want to visit a low key, comfortable joint with really good sandwiches. Highly Recommended! Great Job Ricobene's. Going back definitely.”
“Absolutely fantastic authentic sub. The bread is key as it's absolutely wonderful and perfect. I got the Italian and it is absolutely spot on and they say they're fried bologna is even better. Absolutely going back to try a few other things. The staff is as friendly as it gets....”
“Everything was perfect start to finish . They make sure you are happy with your meal and if there is anything off they help you. The portions were absolutely huge. The linguini do mare must have had at least 30 mussels in it plus clams and shrimp and lobster. Perfect meal”
“The Village is a beautiful Italian restaurant that has wonderful food. The staff is very efficient and took exceptional care of us. I ordered Linguini Alfredo with shrimp. It was seasoned to perfection and tasted heavenly. The warm bread they bring at the start was so good!”
“I recently had the pleasure of eating at Lil Joe's Tacos and I'm so glad I did! The food was absolutely delicious, with bold, flavorful ingredients that really elevated the tacos to something special. The service was friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was fun and inviting. I will definitely be back to Lil Joe's Tacos again soon! Highly recommended!”
“Omg I’ve had brick oven pizza before but wow this place blew my mind my taste buds went crazy mouth watery oh man something about the taste of the pizza it was amazing would definitely be back again … I had a pepperoni, mushrooms & green peppers pie 5 stars for this ”
“I've eaten at this place for years and have had many different items on the menu. Everything is good, fresh, and full of flavor. Whether you dine in or eat out, the food will be great. Eating in the restaurant provides a professional sit-down experience. Can't go wrong with this place. Food is worth the price.”
“I'm not sure I've actually written a review while still at the establishment. But the happy hour specials and the food warranted this. $8 old fashioneds for happy hour? Yes, please! The Arancini was amazing. But, best of all—at the suggestion of the waitress—the ricotta gnocchi was to die for. One of the best pasta dishes I've had in my life. Every ingredient pairs well. So good! Highly recommend. Out of the thousands of places to try in Chicago, I would come back here for seconds in an instant!”
“Good variety of options on the menu. Thin crust pizza was tasty, gluten free crust was ok, salad was fresh, Alfredo pasta was flavorful, minestrone was just ok as it tasted like frozen veggies and lacked noodles or rice. Take out staff were friendly and professional, and the take out area was spacious and clean. Would love to try the restaurant some time.”
“First time here and got The Chicago pizza, it was so delicious!! The mozzarella cheese was my favorite part!! The marinara was also very tasty. This was a small pizza and fed two people and leftovers. Enjoyed the atmosphere and can’t wait to bring friends here!!”
“It was our first time dining at Miss Ricky's. We made a reservation but it would have been very easy to be seated quickly. Tony was absolutely great. Super kind, suggestive and attentive. :) The food was fantastic. I ordered the salmon pappardelle— FABULOUS albeit a small portion. My fiancé ordered a burger which was also really tasty. Their July cocktail “spicy girl” was too good, I want to recreate it at home. Overall; we had such a great time and would love to return!”
“A great spot in river north with a calm, fashionable ambiance and both indoor/outdoor seating. Both entrees we ordered (a pizza and ravioli) were amazing, though the ravioli portion is a bit small so it’s best ordered with some appetizers. We tried the focaccia with whipped ricotta as a starter and were not disappointed! Our food came out pretty quickly but with appetizers, mains, and a coffee to cap of the meal we stayed for around 90 minutes. Bathrooms are up several flights of stairs so be mindful when booking (call to ask about elevator, can’t remember seeing one).I’d happily be back again to try their menu. Based on the couple at the table next to me, sounds like they rotate their offerings.”
“Everything we had was delicious, I can’t wait to go back! We got most of the appetizers and would definitely recommend the arancini, zucchini salad, and burrata. We also got the rigatoni, leek gramigne, and risotto which was a creamy corn and would get them all again. The desserts were good but not the highlight. The lemon olive oil cake had a great texture and affogato was strong but delicious espresso. I also loved that they have so many spirit free cocktails, the elixir & tonic was perfect and not too sweet.”
“Great neighborhood pizza spot. These guys do things the right way. They care about the people in the neighborhood, and it shows with great service.Fairly priced pizza that's quick and tasty. We go at least a couple Friday's a month. Thank you Pizza Mania.Kid-friendliness: We often go early for our pickup orders, so my son can play at the arcade game they have in there. He loves it!”
“This branch is very famous to tourists so make sure to bring tons of patience for the long line. But, we got lucky during our visit because we were only 2 people and was contacted 8 minutes after we made the dine in reservation. Anyway, we definitely recommend the Chicago Deep Dish pizza and Calamares. Also, our server was very friendly and helpful (sorry we forgot her name). This is a must try in Chicago!”
“Yes, you should definitely check out Eataly. A “don’t miss spot” when in the area. Walking through the store is an adventure in itself. Check out the beautiful meat, seafood and cheese cases. I wish I took more pictures! Buy a loaf of amazing, fresh bread! Try the pizza! The coffee! The gelato! Try it all! My only complaint is that there aren’t cashiers at the grocery check out. I can’t stand having to do self check out if I don’t want to. It also bugs me that they don’t accept cash. Other than those 2 service issues- Eataly is a blast!”
“Nice ambiance and bar area, Excellent service from Alicia. Was seated in booth with very little space between bench and table. Very close quarters, but could carry on a conversation. We all ordered salads which were good, felt chicken was over done on my Caesar. Tiramisu was delicious. Would eat here again and try a different item. Convenient location to theatre's.”
“The handmade gnocchi with spicy vodka sauce made me dance in my seat. I didn’t know gnocchi could even have that texture—it was pillowy and soft, and the sauce packed such a punch that I asked to take it home even once the gnocchi was gone. I am going to become a regular here if it’s the last thing I do”
“Wonderful place. We have been going to IL Vincinato's for ivermectin 20 years. It takes us at least an hour to get there from the suburbs, but it is ALWAYS worth the trip. Lovely dining room and fun, casual bar. Perfect spot for dinner before events at the United Center.”
“Great place and the real italian food in Chicago, I'm used to come in this city monthly for business and I tried the most famous Italian restaurants in the city. But after "Il Milanese" opened, there is no competition with the others, it's my hometown. Really Incredible food and incredible experience. Thanks to Carlo and all the Staff.”
“"I've heard that Chicago has a variety of renowned sandwiches. Of all of them, I was most intrigued by the Italian beef sandwich. Trying it at Luke's Italian Beef was definitely the right decision. The sandwich was packed with juicy meat, and the peppers added just the right taste, striking a perfect balance of flavors. I believe many Koreans would like this sandwich. Thank you for the delightful meal :)"”
“There I was…. Leaving Guaranteed Rate Stadium when I had the sudden urge to eat something very Italian! After whipping out the trusty mobile device and searching nearby “bodegas and ristorantes” if you will - I settled on Nonna Soluri’s Italian Deli, on S. Morgan St. (named after my ancestors, I’m sure).I was able to park right in front of the deli, parking has been a nightmare all over Chicago - it’s a great situation here!Walked in, ordered the Italian Sub and was on my way in 5-6 minutes!Great food, helpful & friendly staff!I’ll be back!”
“How did I not know about this place?? Really good old-school Chicago Italian food. $24 gets you a very large plate of pasta or meat plus salad and soup plus bread for the table. Chicago pour on the wines. Friendly and fun service. Family vibe. Loved it. Will definitely be back.Vegetarian options: Eggplant parm, cheese ravioli with marinara sauceKid-friendliness: Noise level was not too loud or too quiet. Kid-friendly foods like pizza and spaghettiDietary restrictions: Vegetarian and vegan options and gluten free options”
“I think Eataly might actually be heaven on earth. I could enter this space and never leave and truly live out the rest of my days in the most amazing food and wine coma. I made multiple visits to Eataly during a very short stay in Chicago. Upstairs are multiple market stations for cheese, bread, pasta, prepared food, pizza. There's also a restaurant, wine bar, and some private event spaces. I attended a private event here (the catered food and meats/cheese board were outstanding) and then returned with friends for a wine tasting where we ordered a charcuterie board, pizza, burrata salad, and other treats. Everything was out of this world delicious and fresh.”
“This Chicken Parm is worth EVERY single penny. Nonna's has one of the best sandwiches in Chicago, and it's attached to Formento's, so all of the ingredients are fresh and high quality. It's saucey, cheesy, gooey, EVERYTHING you would want from a good parm. They have beautiful, covered outdoor seating surrounded by flowers. Very friendly staff & just absolutely delicious food. I'm coming back for meatballs soon!”
“This place is what the neighborhood has been missing for a very long time. A family friendly place within walking distance to enjoy dinner and a glass of wine. Food was great. Kids had chicken strips and fries, both very tasty. Wife and I had pizza that is one of the best tavern style you'll have in the city. Service was fantastic and impressed on the work they did to turn the building into a restaurant.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly.”
“Carmine's is by far one of the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. The excitement of the restaurant itself whets your appetite before you even sit down and order authentic traditional Italian dishes cooked the Italian way, including pasta, lamb chops, veal, and New York style strip steak. The wine and drinks with live entertainment was incredible. On the way to O'Hare I wondered when we would meet again. But Sadly I just found out that they are now under reconstruction and will reopen in 15 months .But I am happy to be able to open a new page of memories for the future, while thinking fondly of the good old place filled with memories.”
“Came here on a recommendation - their “skinny deep dish” is unique and allowed us to try that style without feeling overly full. Our group of three shared the kale salad, zucchini fritti, two pasta dishes and a pizza - it was more food than we could finish. All was delicious but the kale in the wasn’t treated and there was an aggressive amount of red onion, so would skip that next time and only do one pasta.”
“The place was full on a Tuesday night when we arrived for our reservation; walk ups seem to have been waiting for an hour. Always hearty, Italian food with generous servings and very attentive wait staff even though she had her hands full. The only negative thing was how loud the room was; not recommended for a quiet conversation.”
“Let’s start off by saying this place is very expensive, but I don’t come for money, so take both of those pieces of information in stride as well. The service was fantastic. The server was personable, friendly, and helpful. The food was excellent the best chicken Parmesan I have ever had, the ambience was beautiful and it made for a really good vibe throughout.”
“While in town visiting, we came across Buona and stopped for dinner. The beef, chargrilled chicken sandwich and fries were delicious! The staff was very kind as well. We enjoyed our meal so much that we had dinner there again the next day before leaving town. We wish there were Buona’s in Dallas/Ft Worth!”
“Just on the western edge of Fulton Market, Pasta Veneta was wonderful. We sat at the bar, and tried several dishes at the recommendation of our very helpful bartender. They have plenty of pasta selections, both fresh and traditional. Definitely worth a visit.”
“Ordered thin crust pepperoni pizza the other night, and it is instantly one of my favorite thin crust pizzas in the city. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but the cheese is delicious and has a unique flavor. The sauce was really flavorful, and the mozzarella sticks were outstanding (I'm very picky about them). Definitely will be returning in the future.”
“Pizza was great-loved the hot honey!Great options if you are ok getting a couple slices, if you aren’t up for/can’t wait for a pizza to cook. We ordered some slices to eat on the patio and they warmed them up. Really good, and we are full! The caprese salad was just ok, but the pizza made up for it.Nice little patioFriendly service”
“The food was good; the waitress was polite and attentive. The prices were okay. The restaurant is clean. The only thing I don't like, and it's not the restaurant's fault you have to pay for street parking. The business should complain to the alderperson about this.”
“Old school hot dog joint. I've never tried anything else, but that's just me! Only 'fixings' for them are onions, mustard, relish. Most items come with fries. CASH ONLY. No-nonsense staff; know what you want, order loudly, and don't ask stupid questions. Street parking can be very tough IF you insist on paying for a legal spot- but most 'in the know' park anywhere, hit their blinkers, and grab their orders 'to go'.”
“I have no idea where these negative reviews are coming from - this place is fantastic. I was very hesitant at the 3.5 star rating but this location is close to my office and I was on a time crunch. The turkey sandwich was fantastic, fresh, delicious, prepared in under 4 minutes, and cost $6.41 for the 7". The staff was very friendly! Will definitely come back here!”
“Our group of 40 had a fantastic experience with La Vida Catering. The food was hot, delicious and much higher quality than what would be expected at the price we paid. Delivery was smooth and on time. People at our event said it was one the best buffets of its type they've ever seen. It was the Italian Classic package.”
“What a fun place to enjoy pizza, drinks, and music. Great place to take family. There is a little play/arcade area. The pizza was delicious!! The staff was friendly. We happened to be there to enjoy an evening of music and the music was so enjoyable. It was a program put on by Opera Inter Alia and the singers were all professionals from around the city. As a professional singer myself, I was really to excited to find a place that supports local artists and music making. Perfect spot for a fun family pizza night/ date night!!This was our first time dining at Borelli's and we will definitely be coming back!!”
“AMAZING! We walked past last night and saw the pizza so decided to stop in today. So glad we did! Very friendly staff and good atmosphere. They have the wall to kitchen as windows so you can see the bakers making the dough which is very entertaining!! :) the pizza was incredible”
“Lively atmosphere and wholesome employee-customer rapport. Food was amazing as well. My husband (who is from Italy) loved their cannoli! Said it tasted straight from Italy! My kids loved the chicken tenders as well! Will for sure come again!”
“Me and my Dad stopped here to grab a quick slice while on the road to fix UHauls. Was driving down Irving noticed the "Pizza by Slice" sign. Stopped to grab ourselves a bite and it was some really good pizza. The sauce was very good as in my opinion it's kind of what makes a good pizza, the crust was perfect it was not soggy or over cooked, this thing was extra cheesy and I love it!I would definitely stop by here again to grab another slice.2 slices and a pop for $10 that's a damn deal. The interior was very clean and very welcoming may even stop by to eat in next time.Dude behind the counter was cool & polite. Like I said this place all around was great. Will definitely come back.”
“I'm so glad we found this place. Staff was incredible. We sat at the bar and everything was perfect. Food, ambiance, service. noise level was excellent. Selection of wine and bourbon was unbelievable. We went after the Cubs game and will definitely go back. Thanks Figo”
“From Florida, and this place was awesome! Had a little St Pete vibe with all the Chicago attitude on food. The deep dish, Italian beef, the mozzarella and also spinach cheese sticks, and their RANCH!!! Oh, so good; not overpowering on ranch but has a slight kick. Wish I could have bought another pizza and taken it back to Tampa. Going again when I come back to Chicago.”
“Very good pizza and pasta, and I love that they include a little free garlic bread. I’m partial to the bbq blast pizza, and the tequila lime chicken. The pizza has a great taste and aroma, and the quality and quantity of the chicken used on the pizza is impressive. The only suggestion I would make is possibly a few less peppers in the tequila lime chicken pasta dish. It’s not a big deal (you can just brush them aside) but I think it slightly overwhelms the delicious cream sauce the dish comes in. Overall though this place is terrific, and I’ve found them to be very consistent.”
“The pizza was good, but it wasn't what I was expecting when I ordered a deep dish. It didn't have the thick layer of toppings, sauce, and cheese. Again, it was good, but more like a regular pizza. The spinach and artichoke dip was solid. The atmosphere was really cool.We also really appreciated the shuttle to the game!”
“An absolute institution for tavern style thin crust pizza. Cash only!!! I got the sausage and giardinera well done. It was a midweek late afternoon call ahead and it was ready in 20. The front attendant was super on it and very quick and helpful. Pizza was probably one of the best I've ever eaten. Crispy and crunchy, tons of fennel in the sausage and the giardinera offers the right amount of heat. I wish it wasn't so far but that's a me problem. Will return many times.”
“Unfortunately we couldn’t eat in the restaurant due to hot wave staff issue but did take out. The think crust artichoke, spinach and feta pizza was amazing and the cookie with ice cream was packed well!Vegetarian options: The think crust artichoke, spinach and feta pizza was amazing”
“My favorite pizza in Chicago. We are from out of town and discovered Lou Malnati's pizza on a food tour. It was love at first slice. This one is my favorite location, there's never any wait and Hugo our server/bartender is THE BEST! So nice, always smiling and welcoming. My favorite is the Lou Malnati's salad and the deep dish pizza with spinach. You can't never go wrong, always fresh and always delicious,”
“We had my mom's 80th party here and everyone had a great time. The food was amazing and the service top notch. Scott made the planning easy and our servers Josh and Tara and the kitchen crew accommodated our last minute requests and hustled to make it a great experience that our family and friends will remember. I shopped around several places and Zias Social was by far the best food at reasonable prices. Many thanks”
“This place deserves 10 stars tha lady who cooks tha food definitely knows what she's doing. And very courteous I literally had jus got done going to taqueria Las Flores and let me tell you never ever again!!! So I went to riko tacos for an horchata and these ladies were leaving the restaurant and I happened to ask how tha food is she's said it's good. And she mentioned this place Sergio's that tha tortas are really good. So I took my chance and yes they were right. Good service and good food!!! ??”
“We came here after going to the Pompei exhibit at the museum of science and industry and LOVED our service, meal and ambiance. We got the focaccia and meatballs as an appetizer. The meatballs were some of the best I’ve ever had. Then we got a margarita pizza and chocolate mouse dessert. Reasonably priced and DELICIOUS!”
“Another popular pizza spot was requiring reservations so we stopped in here instead and were very pleased with our change of plans. Deep dish slices available right away and a baked mostaccioli dinner that was tasty and a great deal. Dining room was simple, welcoming, clean.”
“My wife and I enjoyed a memorable meal together at Torali a few weeks ago. The service was very professional. The table setting, the waiter and the ambiance was perfect. We both enjoyed our meal, starting with an order of lobster biscotti and an order of lamb meatballs. For entrees my wife and I both shared an order of beef Bolognese. For dessert we ordered the cheesecake, it was delicious. The jazz that was playing greatly enhanced our experience. Thank you for a wonderful evening.”
“Amazing pizza and appetizers the atmosphere is laid back inviting to all . Staff was friendly have great customer service and very attentive.Kid-friendliness: Now what kid don’t love pizza they also have color books etc… while they wait for pizza”
“Their iconic sub is shown below with the sweet ? peppers ?. Well cooked, seasoned, and very filling. You can taste the true flavor of the meat ?. Lean and healthy. I had an opportunity to talk with the staff. There is a positive attitude there, and they want you to enjoy the experience. A relaxing, pub like experience.”
“Decent cafeteria-style Italian American place. They're right there for you when you need them when you're in the hospital district. The food is hot, the place is clean, there is enough variety that it'll make most people happy. You can be in and out of there in under half an hour if you want to, or you can linger over a glass of wine and dessert. Is it the best of the best? No, but it's solid and dependable. Great place for a group, too.”
“Excellent traditional Italian dining place to take the whole family to.Great for dates and entertainment. One side is a full bar. The other side is a table dining area.Food is delicious!Wine menu and huge beer selection. They have a small parking lot in the back and there is also paid meter parking. If you're lucky, you may find free parking in side streets”
“Been here several times and always thought it was incredible. Definitely amazing place to get Italian, especially pasta! One of my wife and I’s favorite italian places we’ve ever been, including Italy. We love anything with the parmesan cream sauce and vodka sauces. The burrata was very good too. Service was great and the vibe was a mix of elegant and fun which we enjoyed. Highly recommend this place!”
“Oh wow! I was really in the mood for pasta and also very lazy to leave my apartment. I chose this place because I wanted to check it out being so close to me, but also because I saw it has a capricciosa pizza. This being my favorite pizza I decided to get both pasta and pizza. The pasta was delicious, and I fully intended to split it evenly with my partner but after I took one bite of that pizza I was in heaven. I ate almost all of it. Can't wait to go back and check out more of the menu. What a great addition to the neighborhood!”
“Would have been a 5 star if it wasn't for the service. My friend was sitting waiting for me about 15 min before I got there. No water was given or anything. Once I got there, we still waited 10 min to get just water (so 25 min total no water given). Our server took forever to come take our order, but was standing around by the kitchen chatting with the other servers. Food and drinks were really good! Had the meatballs, spicy gnocci, and sunday sauce. All delicious! Place was also super cute! However she did not come check on us even once. The host literally had to come take our plates away and go ask her to bring us the check because she wasn't even coming by. We did get a birthday dessert for my friend, which was nice, but once she finally brought the check, it wasn't even ours. When she brought the right one she just threw it on the table and said "my bad". Didn't even realize until after leaving that she didn't even subtract the deposit from the check. They also automatically add 20% gratuity, which is fine because that is what I always leave for a tip, but with the service we got, I would NOT have left that. Super disappointed with how we were treated, but would definitely love to have the food again.”
“arrived here late last night and very hungry. service was quick and attentive, which was much appreciated considering our state of mind and stomach. very nice ambiance except for the tv screens and wall covering the bar. i ordered the cheese ravioli with tomato basil sauce and it was delicious, would definitely order it again. my brother tried the chicken vesuvio and he enjoyed it as well. certified yum.Vegetarian options: a few meat-free pastas”
“The highlight of the visit is the food, the portions are very generous and the food is pretty good. Drinks were awesome I tried their and limoncello drink (forgot the name) besides that the service wasn’t first class, waiters weren’t 5 stars but they might be having a bad day.Wouldn’t say it’s a place I would frequent, but definitely enjoyed the food but not as highly rated as it wants to be”
“Overall good food, service, yet not for the atmosphere as it is too tiny. Restroom is ridiculous 60 stairs down in the basement !! That is terrible news for disabled customers !!There is a small outdoor patio which is nice for Summer.Best to order take away and not dine in !”
“I've been a customer at this excellent family restaurant for decades. The service staff is outstanding and friendly with familiar faces I've seen since the beginning. It says something about a business when employees stay on for so long. The food is amazing with excellent choices. I come here often for the family ambience and a good meal. Highly recommend!”
“Tried Aster Hall for the first time and it was great! For a Sunday it wasn't that busy and it was a great place to catch up with friends. The food didn't take long to come out and it was all super fresh. We got Small Cheval burgers and it was just as good as the normal storefront. Would definitely come again and try more restaurants!”
“We dined outdoors on a beautiful evening and food was excellent, including the bread. :)Also enjoyed an appetizer of sausage and peppers, followed by veal scallopine and scallops alla Cristina.Delicious and well presented.Service was attentive, congenial, and accommodative.Highly recommended.”
“Legit, some of the best pasta dishes I've ever had have been at Caro Mio. Fell in love with this place well over 10 years ago in their former location.Went back tonight at their new location with some friends of ours (also longtime fans). The vibe is very much the same; the food is still the same -- which is to say, spectacular!I challenge you to find anything on their menu that's not a home run. And if you want a "sure thing", try their gnocchi. You're welcome in advance... :-) Enjoy!”
“Rolled up to this place around 9:30 pm on a random Monday night, it was totally dead, only to be absolutely shocked at how delicious the pizza was. Highly recommend the BBQ pulled pork, cheddar and onion rings slice. The guy working the counter was super chill. Definitely gonna be coming back as a Wrigleyville local”
“Great pizza and friendly. They are back open and the dining area is open again as well. The slices are massive and always fresh. Lots of space to dine in but I always have had take away. The restaurant is always clean as well every time I’ve been here. Owner is very friendly and a nice guy. Thanks again!”
“I came here for the first time to study for my pharmacy test. Immediately, I was greeted with pure kindness and then I ordered a cappuccino. Unfortunately, I did not have cash, yet a kind gentleman offered to pay for me. I will be coming here frequently and will invite my family and friends as well.”
“My new favorite pizza place! Pizza metro’s thin crust pizza had amazing flavors and textures that left me utterly impressed. From the perfectly executed crust to the flavorful toppings, it was evident that every detail had been meticulously considered. Pizza metro not only has great pizza but there customer service is also excellent. For those seeking a flavorful and enjoyable pizza experience, this small restaurant certainly deserves a place on your culinary radar. Your taste buds will thank you.I got an all cheese, pineapple and jalapeño pizza. It was delicious and it was a fair price. I can’t wait to eat there pizza again!”
“This was our first visit here and knew nothing of the history or menu. The most exquisite, authentic meal I have had in I'm not sure how long! The Trial Fitta were a perfect start and we took our fill. The pasta was fresh, the sauces flavorful and light. I can't say enough good about it :) We will be visiting again. And the Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile... ??”
“This place was really cool. This is the type of bar you imagined as a kid but with awesome pizza. The owner was super friendly and fun. He had suggested to try this spicy honey on the pizza which sounded crazy, as he admitted, but was surprisingly delicious. We had a pepperoni and sausage pizza and two draft beers. The place was clean and couldn’t have been better.”
“The pizza is incredible, but I think pricing seemed quite odd, and a tad expensive. It was $19.95, and I paid about $24.48 after taxes. That doesn't seem right? MEAT LOVER'S PIZZA: There's about 8 slices, so can easily feed 2, but keep in mind that this is a thin crust pizza. This was recommended to me by the person who picked up the phone. Good portion of meat and definitely well seasoned and flavorful. Pro or Con depending on your preference: I prefer when I pick up a thin slice, that I can easily fold it or hold it up right without everything falling out. They did this well! If I'm in a crunch or really feeling meat loving, I'm probably going to come back.”
“I went here last week on a whim and what was such an unassuming location was some of the best pizza I’ve had in Chicago. The owner was working the wood fire oven and since the place was pretty quiet I chatted with him. He’s from Rome and if you dine in you can watch him shaping the clearly homemade dough. An absolute hidden gem.”
“We have been to Elina's several times, but were in for a group dining reservation last Friday. The ambiance, food, and experience were all exceptional. The price for a family style, price fixe menu felt reasonable. All of the food was spectacular, especially the rigatoni in vodka sauce and the eggplant parm. The staff was warm and accomodating - we had a few unforeseen changes to our reservation and they were very understanding. Highly recommend for a group experience!”
“This is my fourth time at Rose Mary and every experience has been exceptional. Went with a larger group this time (all new diners to the restaurant) and got to try more of the menu - zucchini fritters, duck sausage, skradin risotto, and rigatoni amatriciana were new to me and absolutely delicious. We ordered some favorites that are always on the menu, including the tuna crudo and cacio e pepe. We sat outside, the weather was gorgeous, and celebrated my parents' 39th anniversary. Thank you to team Rose Mary for such a great night!”
