38 Best Greek Restaurants near Des Plaines

“The food and the service are absolutely top-shelf…their Greek food is better than anything I’ve had all over Chicago.“

“Absolutely amazing! The 1/2 Greek Chicken at The Gyros Factory is one of the best meals I’ve had in Des Plaines. Perfectly seasoned, cooked on the bone, and unbelievably tender. The rice pilaf and Greek potatoes complete the plate beautifully. A must-try!“

“Whatever you have a taste for, they have it here!! Service was fast and SO friendly!! Ordered 4 dinners, everything was prepared perfectly and put together for take out with such efficiency, and the portions are huge!! Everyone we encountered was so nice! We will be back for sure!“

“This is everyone favorite vendor at our display! They bring the energy, they bring the excitement, and most of all they bring the most amazing Greek food!!!“

“Best Greek food in the area!“

“My husband and I came in tonight for 4 flights for our family. The place smelled amazing, the staff was welcoming and friendly. We waited a little bit for our food, but it was certainly worth the wait!!! My whole family loved it, even my pickiest!!! It was the best food, for a very decent price, that we have had in a long time!“

“Great food with a lot of variety. Beautiful decor and ambiance. Professional staff. One of my favorite places to eat.“

“Great place to eat and excellent service .“

“Fabulous food , great service“

“The food was great. The restaurant was filthy. I took a shower when I got home.“

“Absolutely amazing experience, great food, and fun yet inviting atmosphere“

“What gets me is the speed. Friday night, line out the door, and the food still lands hot and fast. The guys behind the counter will walk you through the menu if it's your first time and actually recommend something instead of pointing at a number.

It's tight inside, so it shines as a takeout spot, but I've eaten in and been happy. Portions are generous, prices are genuinely reasonable, and there's no attempt to dress it up as something it isn't. It's just good food, done right, by people who care whether you come back.

I've had gyros in Greece. This is the closest thing to it I've found around here. Five stars, and it's now in the regular rotation.“

“Wow1 This meat and grill business has the best kabobs! They also are generous to charities and very community spirited. Stop in. You will be happy you did!“

“Everything was fantastic. The jumbo shrimp ARE jumbo. The grilled appetizer was delicious. I highly recommend the dolmades and lamb chops.“

“We went here to celebrate birthday and at 5pm on a Saturday, this place was already crowded. Food was good and would want to go back and try other things. Service was good and one thing I didn’t like is that you have to use the valet for parking.“

“Enjoyed our Gyros, Fries, and grilled chicken sandwich!! This place has old school charm and is clean!!! Ice cream is delish too!! Great prices!!“

“love this restaurant & have been going here for over 20 years. Always great food & service except the bread. They changed the provider and bread is not as fresh, warm & tasty like it used to be.. this is the only thing which is not up to standards thank you for listening everything else is great.“

“Update: Looking back 8 years later, we still remember what a fantastic experience we had at Skippers Restaurant. The food was excellent, the portions were generous, and the overall atmosphere made it a memorable stop during our travels.

The service stood out just as much as the food. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in. It had that classic local restaurant feel where you could tell people truly enjoyed coming there.

What really stayed with us over the years was the quality and consistency of the experience. Great food, good service, and a relaxed atmosphere are what make restaurants memorable, and Skippers definitely delivered all three.

As Mike & Amy’s Small Town Adventures, we have explored restaurants all across Illinois and beyond, and this is still one of the places we remember positively years later. Easy 5 stars from us.

“I'm right next door eat there a lot“

“My fiancé and I have been a gyro war. I’m a Skokie Dengeos girl and he’s a diehard Squabs fan. While it’s hard to compete with childhood memories after trying Squabs I totally get it. The gyro was perfectly cooked, the tzatziki was beautiful, the fries were delicious. The absolute standout was the customer service. I was having such a bad day. I confused the gyro plate with the gyro dinner and they took such good care of me. I had cried the whole ride over and left with the biggest smile and a plate of leftovers. 10/10 I will be coming back every chance I get.“

“The chicken kabob dinner is a must-try when really hungry, and the grilled chicken pita is a go-to for a quick meal!“

“Stopped by tonight for the best Ribs in town. Excellent food Excellent prices. A must stop to eat….“

“I stumbled on this place as being new to the neighborhood. I found them on DoorDash a$12 Gyo meal. Every piece of meat had a different size cut and texture that I could appreciate. I knew that this meal was cut and made per order. The tzatziki sauce tasted homemade. The pita bread was soft and fresh. I received a $25 meal for $12. I will be coming back to try more.“

“One of the best Gyros I’ve ever eaten. Delicious food!“

“Last night I went to dinner with some friends.
So glad we did.
The food was fabulous. We had fried calamari and one of the shareables mixed grill pikilea
Drinks were great. I had the patio Paloma.
Music was great.
Great ambience. Sitting out side dining and enjoying good music.
Will definitely be coming back.
Highly recommend.
Service was great. Sammi was very attentive to us.“

“homestyle burgers, very clean and delicious food. mom and pop shop. I’d rather give them my business than a big chain any day!“

“está chingón el pollo.y el arroz .“

“Very clean and delicious eats🤤😋“

“Great place and food. Number one hot dogs in Chicago❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️“

“This is one of the best take out places ever. Menu offers healthy choices and yummy soups, as well as some down home fast food as well. Friendly efficient staff. This restaurant is clean as a whistle too. We love Dengeos.“

“stop in here for lunch from time to time when I'm in the area making deliveries and have the spare time to do so the staff here is amazing and the food is even better!!“

“The quantity and quality and fresheness of food was very reasonable for an Airport, and my order was ready right way. The bar was small but comfortable enough, but the cheapest beer was around $12. That may be the norm in O'hare, I'm not sure, but it seemed high. If i find myself in Teminal 2 with time to burn again, i'd try one of the larger chain restaurants. *Lots of reviews mention the fries, and that is true. I didn't even know that the chicken pita even came with fries, but evenly it did, and there were a lot of hot fresh really tasty fries included in the bag. I probably shouldn't have, but definitely did eat them all. The fries were great.“

“Awesome food, great atmosphere“
