This is an absolutely beautiful place to enjoy dinner and great food. The shawarma rolls, pork chops, and Moroccan tagine were all outstanding. If you enjoy sweet and refreshing cocktails, I highly recommend the 'Gotta Have Faith.' Overall, I would definitely return to try more dishes and highly recommend visiting this unique spot. “Celebrated my husband’s birthday here and had a great time! We were pleasantly surprised at how good the service and food was considering it’s inside Rivers Casino.

We had the crab cake and lobster bisque as appetizers - both very good. The Chilean sea bass was absolutely delicious, and I know my husband enjoyed the char on his 14 oz filet. We always get the crème brûlée if we see it’s on a menu, and this one was huge (could feed up to four people)! Only wish they’d add some fresh fruit on top or on the side to help cut the sweetness since it can be a lot for two.

Overall, we had a great experience. Service was quick and attentive. The manager even came up to our table to greet us. We plan to visit again!”

“I passed by this place all the time it's super low-key too, went there yesterday with my friends had me Sinberry sour ale I think, and I also had me the orange creamsicle hard seltzer, and I'm not a big fan of hard Seltzer's, but this orange creamsicle was outstandingly good, I never had me a hard Seltzer with so much flavor, and Sinberry was decent, but the aftertaste was amazing, the female bartender that was back there was very nice and very professional, she would always check if everything was good and that we had everything we needed, or if we needed anything more, overall good experience and good service, will definitely come back here with my friends if not myself to try the $14 testers”

“Really cute Japanese place close to the airport, our actual plan was to get Halal pizza from Girodano’s but had to change our plans and the wife picked this place at a walking distance.

Her favourite thing was the “spicy fire” appetiser, which is made with cream cheese, jalapeno and salmon. We also had the spicy ramen noodle soup and the yakisoba (another noodle dish but stir fry).

Ordered a 1/2 pound burger with lettuce, tomato, onions and cheese and boy was it delicious, The patty was cooked exactly as requested medium rare and-just fabulous. Nothing could be better than an ice cold beer and the bottled Old Style was great! Bar staff was attentive and friendly... Rand Road House is a bar without much fanfare and looking forward to a return to try out the ribs with fries.”

“Had an overnight layover and stopped by Beacon Tap. They did not disappoint. Highly recommend coming on Tuesdays where they have half off pizza. What a deal! We got their 12” Da Beef pizza and their 12” Loaded Mac & Cheese pizza for two people, and both were delicious!! Both pizzas exceeded our expectations! They don’t play around with their pizzas and it could easily feed a family of 4. Their service was great and good selection of beer.”

Not the most fancy, but not low quality either! Just the right quality for a quick sushi order :)”

“I ordered the garlic chicken pizza and it was absolutely delicious ?. The restaurant is located inside of the liquor store so Pizzawala doesn't sell its own drinks. The only thing I didn't like was that the Indian part of the menu has alot of nuts so i can't have most of it, but the staff is very helpful and informed me about the allergens.”

“Food was very good. I ended up with chilaquiles (with chicken breast) and my friend got the pupusas and dobladas. Really solid, and I appreciate the subtle differences in flavors between the Guatamalan dishes and standard Mexican fare. However, only 4/5 because ordering (in English) was difficult. I tried to get grilled skirt steak and a green chicken enchilada (as a single item, listed that way on the menu) but what was originally brought out was 3 green chicken enchiladas. I explained the issue and thought it was clear but ended up getting brought the chilaquiles. My friend got his pupusas but the dobladas was not brought and had to be ordered again. The food was delicious and I'm not a picky eater so this wasn't a huge deal, but others that need to order a specific thing, in English, may have trouble. I will be back though, and I will brush up on my Spanish.”

“AMAZAZANG!! I ordered on uber but had to come here to give a review. I had a craving for samosas and obviously had to get butter chicken or Tikka masala and couldn't decide so i got both! The flavors when you combine them is heavenly. The samosas have so much flavor and the garlic Naan is fantastic! Super filling and came with rice that i didnt have to pay for which was a lil surprise. Will order again. Will recommend. Super fresh, almost TOO hot even as a delivery, which is rare. “Lived in this area for TOO LONG NOT to have come here. This was amazing. Came in on a Saturday morning and was greeting by a very nice person right up front and sat us at a new cleaned table. Came out immediately before we sat down with Rico who brought waters, drinks, and tea was like a service. Full box and a Julius Meini set. We got the skillet (10/10) amazing with the perfect perfect perfect pancakes on the side. This was super filling and simply great. I personally got the Biscuits and Gravy with Eggs (an absolute MUST!) and the hash browns were more of a home style and super crispy and fresh. Absolutely 10/10 from the atmosphere (super relaxed and cozy) to the perfect customer service from everyone all around, to the food which was spot-on. Will be back, 100%. Thank you!”

The atmosphere is really bad. Bathroom is barely in working order and there are signs everywhere that just scream cheapness. Only one refill, take only what your need not more, 3.5% check increase if you use card. All these things aren't crazy but combined it just comes off as cheap.”

Nitya ... staff person, was so sweet and remembered to add cucumbers I wasn't enabled to on the online order app and brought the to go order directly to me. The food is also amazing bc it stays true to Korean food fused with fresh veges and both Korean and non Korean based like glass sweet potato noodles or salad or purple or white rice. The flavors are authentic to Korean food items also. Online you can ask for extra of one the free included sides which is nice. The sides are healthful and tastes great. The staff (diverse staff) and manager (who looked Korean to me which is nice to keep authenticity) are always cleaning...authentic to the Korean way of non stop standards of cleanliness. The bathroom is immaculate and non odorous. I got a glass noodle (which is made of sweet potato) base bowl with tofu (cooked perfectly with just right saltiness, broccoli, beans, steamed and fried potatoes, red cabbage, corn, kale, and KIMCHI of course! What Korean dish comes without kimchi and it's perfect inside bc I grew up adding kimchi to everything like ramen or pizza or soup. Also FREE miso soup w tofu and scallion. You can serve it yourself anytime. Drinks are creative and yummy. Thank you Mr Shin (owner of this chain) for creating such a great deal with yummy Korean foods that help me eat for balance and wellness. Thank you to the manager of this Des Plains location for doing an excellent job! If I could, I would eat here everyday. You won't be disappointed. Free and ample parking in the mall and it's right next to Panera. “Our friends have three adopted sons from Bulgaria, so we all wanted to meet for Bulgarian food. Balkanika did not disappoint; there were plenty of options for meat dishes, seafood, and vegetarian options. The portions were very generous; too much in some cases, but that allows for leftovers to go! One of our Bulgarian teen boys ordered the whole fish, and he ate the whole thing (except the eyeballs). The fish got his stamp of approval. The other teen boy had pizza, which he liked very well and shared with the rest of us. If I had any criticism, it would be wanting a bit more flavor, but perhaps culturally Bulgarian food is simply meat-forward, allowing the meats to speak for themselves. (I don't really know though; I'm guessing here.) Interestingly, one of the meals came with a sauce that looked like ketchup, but tasted different, in a good way. I want all ketchup to be Bulgarian now. That stuff could be bottled and sold, and it would make me very happy. The wait-staff was friendly and helpful to us, not like I read in some of the other reviews. The restaurant has a little snack store near the entrance, and one of the waitresses described things to us and helped us make our choices of treats to go (we wanted airplane snacks, since we were flying later). To sum up, Balkanika was a fun experience, with good food and generous portions.”
