“The four of us had a great time at this local gem. We had curry with rice, drunken noodles, and two orders of “chef’s gone crazy”—the chef cooked whatever he wanted for us and they were both pleasant surprises! Everything was delicious, and I have to say that their 3/5 spice level is a pretty solid 3/5. You could definitely taste the spiciness, but it wasn’t the main star of the show. If you like your food spicy, I’d say even go higher.“

“Passed by this place 100 times and finally decided to give it a try. Kept it safe with my 1st time order and tried the chicken pad Thai and the crab Rangoon. It was amazing!! So flavorful it packed a punch in every bite! I got medium spicy and it was the perfect amount of heat, food was fresh and came fast, no long wait times. “I had this restaurant in my list to try for a very long time and was finally able to try with some friends. This restaurant is tucked in the food court of Park To Shop (formerly Assi plaza). I ordered the basil chicken with rice and it's delicious-definetly in my top places to have this dish! The ground chicken was flavorful and I got the spice level in mild (next time I will try it more spicy). I do wish the portion size was larger but enough to keep you content. The price is fair for the dish! The food came quickly and the staff gives you a device that alerts you to pick up your food. Overall the environment needs a little more maintenance and up keep. The staff was okay-there were a few instances where she was rude when we were ordering our food and asking questions. Overall, I will definitely come again when in the area and order take out!“

I ordered the Red Curry Chicken for takeout and it was outstanding. The curry had a rich, creamy coconut base with just the right kick of heat, and the chicken was tender and perfectly cooked. The vegetables were fresh and still had a nice crunch, and the portion size was generous enough for leftovers. Even after the drive home, the food stayed hot and flavorful. I’ll definitely be ordering this again! and most of it it’s Halal. Will def be back. Tysm!“

“A husband and wife duo cranking out delicious Thai food — we’ve been going here for years and absolutely love it. If there is ever a seasonal dessert, don’t skip it! “I picked up 2 orders of fresh spring rolls today that I was craving and they were delicious and the best I’ve ever had so wanted to leave a review. The sauce they served it with was also delicious and different than I’ve had elsewhere. I also appreciated that the sauce was gluten free, as most places it is not. Walked in without a resy on a busy Friday night and was really impressed with the service. We were seated right away with a group of 3 adults and a baby. All of the servers were incredibly friendly, and even though the restaurant was packed, they were attentive, efficient, and friendly the whole time.

The grilled beef salad was a bit of a letdown—the portion of beef was pretty small, and it came out dry without that flavorful char you usually expect. The pad thai leaned sweeter than what I’m used to, but the noodles themselves had a great texture.

The standout was definitely the spicy fried rice—really well-balanced flavor and perfect texture. We also asked for chili sauce and were given two different kinds, both of which were amazing and added a lot to the meal.

“We had a great experience at Penny’s Oak Park. I ordered their version of pho with beef, and it was really good. For my daughter, I got the fried rice and egg noodles from the kids menu, and those were okay. What really stood out was the service. Our waitress was super friendly, attentive, and especially good with my daughter, which made the experience even better. The location is convenient, the space was clean, and the overall atmosphere felt welcoming. I’d definitely come back.“

My fiancé tried the pad thai with shrimp on one visit and the basil shrimp fried rice on another, and both dishes were full of flavor and so satisfying. “The first time I ever visited Ruk, the owner was incredibly nice and offered many recommendations on things to do, sights to see, & places to go as I’m not local to the area. We chatted for a while and I enjoyed the cashew pad Thai I ordered with peanut sauce. Going back year after year, Ruk is a staple for dinner the night I arrive in the city. Always nice to catch up and relax there.“

“I find some of the low reviews here baffling. I think some people may be confusing this restaurant with other Chinese restaurants due to its rather non descript name. Make no mistake, the food here is excellent and punches way above its price point.Coming in the first time I was pessimistic. It seemed your standard pre prepared food menu ready to dish out quickly to the lunch crowd panda express style. I quickly became a huge fan after eating large well prepared portions I would expect from a normal sit down restaurant. Yes it's your standard generic fare but made so much better.Great food, great price. Appreciate these places, the owners care about making something good.“

“Over 20 years ago I started eating at their original Lincoln Park location. Today, their delicious food keeps me coming back time after time. It helps that the restaurant is staffed by the nicest people in the world. When I call for pickup they know my order (lad nar with chicken and Japanese gyoza) and they have it ready in ten minutes.
