“This is my second visit within 7 days. As someone who loves visiting Thailand for their food, I finally found my go-to place at Thai Neighbor!
The place is comfy, and you can see inside of the kitchen also clean. Owner and staff are friendly. The best thing, cost effective authentic Thai food!

“I ordered to take out and then decided to stay in and they took care of me very well. It wasn't an inconvenience to have decided to eat in. Where as other places I feel would have sighed or sneared. “First and foremost, the staff is hands down the best! Literally the friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered! And I’ve tried a few things on the menu and nothing has been a let down. Usually I regret straying from “the usual” but I never do here. The crab rangoon is the best I’ve ever had, the wings surprised me with how tasty and well cooked they were, the basil chicken egg rolls were bomb (so is the basil chicken over rice), and the Khao Soi is a best seller for a reason!“

Excellent service - our server even let us try a bit of Thai coffee- as neither of us had ever had it. I don’t ever drink coffee and typically don’t like it, but if I were to pick up that habit, I’d drink that stuff for sure-lol! Anna the owner checked in on us and was very attentive to all the guests. I highly recommend this place- and it’s byob!“

Not only is their menu extensive and their food incredible, they really care about their community, the service is amazing and they always do whatever they can to help you out. “Came in here on my lunch break and the server was very nice and attentive. The Thai iced tea I got was some of the best I’ve ever had, and the seafood soup I got was delicious. The prices were also good given the portion sizes. If I’m ever back in this part of the city I’m definitely returning here again“

One of my secrets is to understand what individuals enjoy to begin with and then to connect those preferences to particular textures, temperatures, and flavor profiles in the given dishes at a particular restaurant. Big Bird Sushi Bar & Thai made this a grand slam when I went with 5 other people. I don’t want to get into the weeds with specifics, but I do one to point out one particular dish that everyone MUST try at this amazing restaurant: Penang Curry with Noodles. I’ve never seen this offering at another Thai restaurant, and with Penang being my favorite curry (followed second by green curry with roasted eggplant) this was the best Penang I’ve ever experienced. The most surprising part was the texture of the noodles. You just have to try them!!!“

“My partner and I had gone to see Resident Evil at the newly reopened 400 Theatre (matinee) and planned to visit for an early dinner afterwards. Super dope interior with incredible mood lighting etc. Every corner had something fun to look at. I had the Thai Lemon Ice Tea which was delicious! And my Beau had the Honey Lemon Butterfly Pea, which was a pleasant surprise. We shared Edamame, with Tom Yum and Miso Soup and a side of Pot stickers. And we shared the Sushi Platter A, which also came with Miso soup 😅 But it was a great price for all that food and drink for two and we were stuffed when we left. Back home in Thailand, it’s common to end the night with a bowl of rice congee, and this place gave me that same feeling. It really reminded me of those late-night meals back home. “Noble Thai makes the best Chicken Pad Thai I’ve ever had!! I’ve tried to branch out to change things up, but haven’t found another restaurant that comes even close. Their Potstickers are also amazing and the Veggie eggrolls & Moo Ping pork skewers are also great apps/sides. I’ve never dined in, but it looks like a cool vibe. “Wow, went in with low expectations and walked out happy. I had the pad gra pao and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked, not dried out and very spicy like I want. Also had some massaman curry which was loaded with onions carrots chicken and not too sweet but just the right spice. Wife had the boat noodles. Again we came not expecting anything special but Surprise! This will be my wifes go to place for boat noodle. She is Thai and we have been to over 60 thai restaurants and this was the best in Chicago. We will be back again and again.“

Noodles were solid, right amount of sweet and tangy, not greasy, and the roll had a good crunch from the tempura bits without being overloaded. Place feels chill and a bit modern, not too noisy. Server was quick and checked in just enough. Easy spot when you want Thai and sushi in one go.“
