“Me and the wife had dinner her for our anniversary. Nice atmosphere. Nice Latin music to match. Brussel sprout appetizer was superb. I had a wood fired ribeye steak. It was good but I had to say I was expecting it to be better. My wife had the Pescado(fish fillet) and she said it was good as well. I don’t trust my wife much when it comes to fancy food cuz she’s a picky eater and is more a burger, pork chop or fish fry kind of gal. Overall it was a very nice dinner for both of us and wouldn’t mind coming here again.”
“Delicious food. They have bottomless mimosas. Outside seating. Small inside though.
Everything we had was delicious!
Steak sandwich, huevos con chorizo, steak with chiliaquilles, al pastor tacos, and a couple other tacos. [They messed up one but it was still good]”

“Excellent food for dine in and creative, well presented catering service options. Karim worked with me to create a menu that our guests loved.”
“We were indifferent to Mora when it first opened several years ago. The food was ok but not great. We went back for the first time in years a few weeks ago and were absolutely delighted by everything. We returned on Sunday afternoon and continue to be bowled over inspite of the noisy laughter coming from a couple of women in a corner booth.”

“OMG WOW! Amazing bakery! I go to tons of bakeries & I think this is the best one in Oak Park & one of the best in Chicagoland! I LOVED everything I tried from the cookies, to muffins to scones. Super high quality & extremely fresh products. Some of the pastries were still warm from the oven as I got there right at 8 am when they open. Even then, there was a little line out the door. Many people got coffee drinks but I didn’t this time. They also have $2 wonky cookies (just weirdly shaped cookies) that are a great deal. I tried: chocolate chip cookie, banana bread, vegan chocolate muffin (extra delish), goat cheese chili scone (excellent) & the wonky birthday cookie (amazing & buttery - melts in your mouth). Can’t wait to go back & try other things! Please note the place is tiny with only a few tables & chairs & there’s metered street parking so I took my order to go.
10.25.24 update: the kale salad done is truly amazing! The toasted coconut cake was sooo good and the chiffon cake was delightful. The savory corn biscuit was good but I preferred the scone, which is totally worth traveling for.”
“I’ve come here a few times now since they opened and I can confidently say it’s some of the best Japanese food I’ve ever had. There takoyaki especially is the best in the city, probably in the Chicago area in general. I’ve had both their spicy tonkatsu ramen and black garlic ramen and the black garlic is my favorite of the two but they’re both very good. My wife tried their lunch special recently and was a huge fan. I’m hoping to come here for years to come so do yourself a favor and give them a try.”

“Solid food every time! Had great risotto last night, their pastas are always good & great cocktails. Take home family meals are delicious and a lot of food for the money. Recommend!”
“I've been here a few times, and each time I come back to the restaurant, it feels like I'm back in Italy! The food is outstanding and the staff is incredible. Whether you dine inside or outside, it's just as good. Great restaurant for date night or going with the family! It's a new all-time favorite without question.

“A chill place to enjoy a brew and relax. Love the fact that there aren't any TVs so you may actually have to talk to the person next to you. Food menu is limited to homemade pretzels (which are great) but you can order out if the mood should strike you. Staff is always nice and laid back. Of course the beer is top notch focusing on old school styles (no hazy IPAs here!).
Been a fan for a long time and will continue to be as long they brew up some great beers and great conversation.”
“Pablo, our waiter, was exceptional. During our first visit here, he warmly welcomed us and showcased impressive knowledge of the menu, even extending to items not listed. He encouraged us to customize our meal to our liking, and he certainly delivered! For starters, we chose the grilled calamari and Rockefeller oysters. The calamari was tender and impeccably cooked, steering clear of the typical rubbery texture. Opting for balsamic instead of oil was a perfect choice. The oysters were superb, not overwhelmed with cheese. I ordered the veal picatta from the menu, expecting a thin slab, but was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion size. The angel hair pasta complemented the dish well, although I could have done without the mushrooms – a personal preference, which I should've mentioned. Nonetheless, if you're a mushroom enthusiast, they give you plenty. My boyfriend ordered off-menu, enjoying the Zuppe di Pesce with shrimp, clams, extra calamari, and rigatoni Diablo style in red sauce. It was absolutely amazing and satisfied his taste without being overly spicy. To accompany the meal, I had a glass of the house Chardonnay, which was light and buttery. Even my boyfriend, who doesn't typically drink wine, enjoyed it. Our heartfelt thanks to Pablo and the owner/chef Giovanni for an outstanding dining experience, both in terms of the meal and the service.”

“Picked up a chai latte and some snacks for the family. My drive through experience was quick and our order was on point. This place has an OG DD vibe. I can’t speak to the interior, I didn’t have the chance to check it out but I did see customers entering by foot.”
“Very good place to have dinner ! Nice art work to view on the wall and the tequila sunrise was super delicious & tall !”

“After hearing great things, I finally had a chance to eat at Thai Neighbor. Let me tell you, I have never felt so welcome in a restaurant ever. Food is incredible and it is run by the most lovely people.
Everything was excellent. Way above and beyond my expectations. Run, don’t walk, to Thai Neighbor next time you’re looking for a good meal.”

“what a great coffee shop!! I am visiting from Portland, OR and obviously have an obnoxious pretention about coffee... Vigo coffee is absolutely great. I've been looking for a good coffee shop to work from in oak park and this exceeds expectations. the coffee is SO GOOD, and I absolutely love that this coffee shop is set up as the most comfortable co-working space + art gallery (?!??!!). as if it couldn't get any better, we absolutely love the authentic Mexican culture and flavors available here. really great selection of savory and sweet baked goods that will keep you full and focused all day. I will definitely be back here to work whenever I'm in oak park.
Vegetarian options: lots of savory and sweet baked options that will sustain you.
Kid-friendliness: lots of games available meant for little ones, like guess who, connect 4, Jenga and uno!”
“Hacienda Memos Taco Tuesday dinner didn't disappoint. Simple Mexican menu with a touch of Italian for the neighbors... $1.00 tacos, weren't skimpy. Choice of meat with cilantro and onions. Had them to go and are a great family friendly restaurant. The rojo salsa is the bomb ??? #carneasada #chorizo #alpastor #discada”
“I’ve been going to Addis for the past 7 years and rarely skip a day… What drew me in was the very best tasting pour over that I’ve ever had and what keeps me coming back is the family feeling: from the friendly crew behind the counter to the local residents who make Addis a must have part of their daily routine, this place is well worth a try. I guarantee that once you try Addis coffee, their amazing waffles, avocado toast, Ethiopian chechebsa, turmeric lattes etc… you will be hooked!”
“I just tried a mini pumpkin pie that was served at a wedding a few days ago. The pie was delicious and the crust was still flaky and perfect - and that’s after a few days! I can’t wait to take my family to the shop. As a mother to a daughter with Down Syndrome, I absolutely love supporting businesses like this. Thank you for creating job opportunities for people like my daughter!”
“Beautiful ambiance, attentive, friendly service and good food. Perfect place for family, friends and date nights. One of the Historic buildings in Oak Park.”
“We always enjoy visiting with Bill and enjoying their delicious dishes (especially those crazy good wood fire pizzas!) Amazing!”
Drive-Thru Restaurants
“I'm a regular customer here. My to-go order is always the grilled chicken salad. Some days, they hook it up with the amount of salad & chicken... other days they don't.
That's not the moral of this story.
I would like to shout out the employee Kali H, who usually takes the orders and charges at the window. Every time I get my order taken from Kali, I can't help but notice that he's very professional and attentive. I've had other employees who annoyingly ask me to repeat my order 2-3 times. However, Kali has never had any issues taking my orders in the past and present. Even during rush hour, which is typically when take my lunch break (not by choice), I notice that the overwhelming amount of customers inside the restaurant & at the drive-thru doesn’t faze Kali. His customer service skills shine. True leadership qualities.
To management at this Oak Park buona location: you've got a great employee working with you. To Kali, your hard work is noticed and appreciated, from the perspective of a regular customer like myself. Thank you!”
“I enjoy a Beach Club here about once a month. Staff is always friendly and the facility is always clean. I always take out, I don’t know about their delivery service. Couple parking spots in the back of the building although they’re often full.
Parking: There is typical city street pay parking and a few spots behind jimmy John’s. The spots behind are usually full during busy hours but i get an open spot all the time during non peak hours.
Kid-friendliness: The food and environment are perfect for kids.”

“The front of the house staff and the food envisioned by Chef Laura and well executed by the talented kitchen staff are outstanding. Simply outstanding.simple yet intesting eats. Whitney is beyond attentive to his guests' beverage interests. "George" Harrison, Jack and the under 21 staff are eager, respectful, and engaging. What a treasure in this neighborhood spot, with beyond just the nearby geographically located closeby fan base. Who's going to gift me with a card to Kettlestrings Tavern for Christmas? "8 days a week" left until December 25”

“I came here with my mom today for lunch, and we were both pleasantly
surprised. We liked the cute atmosphere ,the cleanliness, and most importantly, the food!!! We got the lunch specials! It includes an appetizer/soup/main meal. It was a great price for great food!!! We will definitely be back here again soon.”
“Huge fan. As Americanized Thai places go this is tops. When I order spicy, I get it. I enjoy their take on salmon nicoise, with a beautiful dressing. The curries are very good. I would like to know if there is a hidden menu where unamericanized Thai exists.
Vegetarian options: You can get almost dish vegetarian”
“Update: We decided to visit again and they packed the tacos! The flavor was phenomenal and we were happy. This is still our go-to taco place. It’s not just “I want their street tacos” it’s “I crave their street tacos!”
———
On Wednesday, 12/4/24 I went with my boyfriend to get tacos, we are consistent customers (true regulars) that come 4-5 times a month because they always load up the tacos perfectly. I don’t know if they changed chefs or what, but this time it was nearly half the amount we normally get. Next time, if it’s the same, unfortunately we can’t justify the price we pay for the street tacos for that amount of food. I hope to see it change back!”
“On Sundays, I love eating there after the church service when enjoyed eating different salads, pizzas and pastas..... especially drinking one of canned beers. I'm totally satisfied with one of Billy Bricks locations. Today, I had Baked Mostaccioli pasta and a can of Chicago Common beer.”
“Perfect venue for any party or hangout! We had an excellent time celebrating a friend!”
“I called on short notice to have 9 bottles purchased for a tasting menu party. I needed lighter bodied "crowd pleasers" for a diverse menu and on a restricted budget. I believe it was Adrian who graciously helped me over the phone. The wines were a massive hit with the wine newbies and those with a much more experienced palate than mine. I am grateful to have such a wonderful shop local to Oak Park that provides the extra effort of fabulous service and hospitality. All of my in-store experiences have been wonderful, as well. Kudos to ownership!”
