Came here for the first time with a friend for a quick bite and coffee.. ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL!! I loved it!! I definitely will return. It would be a nice spot to go in the evenings as well, if hours are ever extended. 5 out of 5.. Highly recommended. Next time I will be bringing a baguette home with me!!!

Lea French Cafe offers a nice spot across from Millennium Park with tasty sandwiches and pastry, including chicken salad and baguette sandwiches, croquettes, baguettes, latte, blueberry scone, morning roll, and apple tartlet. The bread is to die for, and the croquettes and baguettes are incredibly delicious for a good price. However, the quality of pastries has not been well maintained; for example, the apple pastry now has fewer apple slices, and the raspberry financier was not ready. Service needs improvement at the Oak Park location, lacking smiles and giving smart arse quips, with tacky fingernail polish. In contrast, counter personnel at another location answered questions with a real smile, and the spotless kitchen had bakers explaining machines. The food is so good, with great French cuisine, but consistency and service vary by location.
