“Trish was amazing! I am a frequent diner here and I witnessed her handle an indecisive customer earlier. She handled the situation with so much grace and care and I was really impressed. Kay, is amazing as well, and she always greets me and other guests with a smile and welcome into the location. This is my go to spot. Keep up the great work, ladies.“
“I was in the hospital when I ordered my food. And the food came to me delicious, fresh. I was very impressed. Everything was good. I would recommend people to go there because it is grateful. Thank you very much and god bless and keep up the good “
“We recently learned that Kay might be relocated to manage a different location, and we are writing to express our strong opposition to this potential move. Since Kay took over the management of this location, her exceptional leadership has been nothing short of transformative. Her dedication, expertise, and positive energy are contagious, inspiring her team to deliver outstanding service with precision and efficiency. Orders are fulfilled flawlessly, and the atmosphere she cultivates is one of warmth and mutual respect. Her leadership style embodies the very best of what we hope to see in our community. She motivates and uplifts those around her, fostering an environment of growth and excellence. Her presence is a gift, and her departure would leave a void that cannot be easily filled. We need leaders like Kay, who by example teach us what it means to strive for greatness, to treat others with kindness, and to take pride in our work. We urge you to consider the impact of your decision. Keeping Kay in our community means preserving a beacon of inspiration, a model of positive leadership, and a driving force behind the exceptional service we have grown to expect and appreciate. Miss Kay,stay with us, and together with your team, keep shining your light. The future of this community depends on leaders like you. Thank you for taking our heartfelt request into serious consideration.
Also, thank you to the whole team at this location for your consistent hard work and always for your welcoming energy. You are very much appreciated.“
“The food portions were much larger than what I’ve received at other Panera locations, where they often seem to skimp on ingredients. The manager was very friendly and provided excellent customer service. Overall, it was a great experience.“
“Dont know why people here on Yelp are so mean w such low ratings because this Panera is clean and it's convenient to anyone being downtown close to Michigan Avenue and if you are going to see doctors at Northwestern University hospital. Dont drive here it’s downtown. It’s strategically placed on the 2nd floor of the hospital and it’s open to the public. It’s is a very very high volume place and much means the food has to be fresh. And the staff have to be on point and they are like 3 year star Lajuan!! He has excellent memory and is also kind and easy going. Lajuan was a very nice staff person and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. The food is healthy and good and you have choices ... this is not a Michelin star place so don't expect to be treated like royalty here. That’s not fair to Panera…my favorite place to sit and eat and read or work and have charging stations. Maybe that’s why some Yelpers wrote such mean reviews? Be kind w your reviews. This Panera is inside the second floor of one of Northwestern U hospitals and you get a whole bunch of patients or hospital staff or tourists or neighborhood people come here. So you can pipe watch if you want to relax. You also have the hospital right around the corner on the second floor, so you have access to all these tables and chairs that we can sit around charging your phone and wait while you might be seeing a family member at the hospital. You can also eat at other eateries around here on the second floor of the hospital. No ID needed. The only thing I don’t like is that this location has such high volume take out patrons that everything is take out and no reusable silverware or plates or mugs. Just a green environment issue.“
“Love this location!!! It's on the 2nd floor of NMH, so I can run down before my shift. They get busy, really fast!!
5days ago, my sandwich was missing a key ingredient, returned back after the 5 days w/receipt and Manager made sure I was credited as a happy return customer. Thank you Panera❤️“
“very easy to use the app. I was very impressed with Donisha (sp?). One of the soups was out of stock and she comped me with a similar soup, upgraded my drink and gave me a free cookie. That all was such a thoughtful gesture and she knew I was a health care worker at the hospital. I appreciated the service on what has been a tough week d/t the commute in the cold and snow! Thank you!!!“
“I’m here almost every day because of the sip club membership. Moneys been tight recently, and as a daily coffee drinker, it’s saved me a lot. I have nothing but good things to say about the employees here. I am absolutely appalled at their working conditions — short staffed, rude customers, and cramped working area (this is a Panera “to go”, and it’s teeny tiny!). Whenever i go in, no matter the time of day, the proportion of orders to customers is so unfair to the workers. And, i always see entitled tourists looking impatient, or rude DoorDashers shoving their phones in the workers faces. Despite all of this, i have never heard a snap or a complaint from the workers. In fact, more often then not, i am greeted with a smile and a welcome. I work in customer service, and I would be nowhere half as nice if i was this overworked! Panera is a tough job (I’ve had friends with them), and it underpays. The machines are complicated and orders usually have multiple components that are hard to juggle. Today, at noon during the lunch rush, there were only 2 people on the floor! These employees are rockstars and so resilient (although there should be more of them hired to help out).
Now i head home and see the negative google reviews, and it’s so obvious to me that many of them have never worked in the service industry a day in their lives. If i was able to tip 100% every time, I would!“
“Jania makes this location a place to revisit. Otherwise, it's crowded parking and difficult location. Jania, however, is so kind. Not just to me, but to every customer I saw her interact with. I hope management appreciates such positive energy that Jania radiates.“
“Stopped by Panera Bread for a quick lunch and it was just what I needed. I grabbed a soup and sandwich combo, and everything tasted fresh and satisfying. There’s plenty of seating if you want to stay a bit, and it’s a nice spot to relax or work for a short while.“
“My daughter and I visited the Halsted location just before closing I’m happy to say the team was attentive, courteous, and helpful even at the end of the day. No one rushed us out. Definite shout out to Zanaya for her kindness and great attitude and Erik for handling everything so professionally.
There was fresh delicious coffee made before closing!!!
Great team and great service!
Highly recommend this location!“
