“TenGoku is quickly becoming one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. It's small -- just a handful of tables along with 10 or so bar seats. it's pretty quiet and the food is very solid.
The drinks are good - especially the selection of sakis. They are reasonably priced. The cocktails are good too. It is a varied menu - lots of good noodle and fried rice dishes. The maki selection is more limited but having tried most of them throughout the last 6 months they are very good.
Modest amounts of desserts. Very kid friendly and easy walk from all west loop places.“

“You need to get to here! 🍜 This #hiddengem recently made Infatuation Chicagos list of best ramen places in the city and they’re the only ramen spot staying open until 1:30am! Yes, you can still eat good, late. The Japanese food here is to be enjoyed in their izakaya vibes, which are casual pubs that you can grab lots of small dishes to sample. Honorable mention to the Chicken Curry Ramen and Taiyaki with ice cream - my two favorite items from my visit! I also had a really good Mai Tai and lychee martini. Go check them out for some good food and tell em that Bri from Planes and Plates sent you!“
