“I visited Planta Queen while on a trip to Chicago and it was just as good as the Planta Queen I normally go to in NYC. Great vegan sushi and nice atmosphere. I had a volcano roll which was a seasonal special and it was amazing, I wish it was offered year round. It is an avocado roll topped with spicy “crab” (hearts of palm) and crunchy sweet potatoes shreds. I also had the watermelon nigiri which is a staple on the menu.“

“The sushi in the Backroom is amazing, and the service was top notch! The bar was hopping and the owner was super friendly, involved and made sure we were well taken care of and chatted with us, which was cool. The owner may remember us - Go Yankees! But seriously, for a date night, or outing with friends, some of the best sashimi I've had in a long time. Check them out!“

“The best sushi I have had in Chicago! 312 is located in the charming 88 Market in Chinatown. Despite being located in a grocery store, the space is intimate and feels like its own little world. The fish was as fresh as it gets, if you enjoy spicy I would recommend the Chicago Fire roll. Perfect for a date night or solo dining at the sushi bar.“

“Everything was fantastic! To start, great ambiance and music! Everyone is seated at the same time and, yes, you do only get 60 minutes but, the whole meal is its own performance, perfectly timed. Each piece got more and more delicious! We did get a few extra pieces at the end. Cocktails were great too. It's a fun spot and a meal not to be missed!“

“The food, service, and atmosphere was amazing. This has been one of the best omakase experiences I have had! Marcos (our sushi chef) was attentive, interacting with everyone, and made everyonefeel welcome and at home. He even let us have a bit of fresh wasabi so that we could sample it before it was incorporated into a dish. If you are on the fence about this restaurant, get off the fence, and book that reservation as this restaurant is well worth it!“

“Expensive airport food, but at least it has tasty sushi nonetheless and a good place to sit if no other lounges or comfortable seats are available.
The servers definitely seemed tired as well, but also felt like they went out of their way to not pay us any attention when we were waiting for a seat. We ordered through the app and the split share did not seem to work for people who join the check after items were already added.
The unagi donburi, Chicago dragon roll, and plum wine are my recommendation for eel lovers and sweet drink enjoyers. The food was definitely tasty but if I wasn’t stranded at ORD, I don’t know if you’d ever find me buying miso soup for $8 anywhere else.“

“My hubby and I decided to try out this location for my birthday since we both love omakase. So glad I rebooked for this location because the vibe, people, food and service was impeccable. Huge thank you to Skye Demarco and Chef Win for taking care of us. p.s. We both went bougie style and did the 17 course for $100 and totally worth it!! The cocktails were ok but they out did themselves with the service.“

“We had a nice time. We meant to book at Sushi Suite 202 though (we'd been here before) and hadn't realized it was a somewhat different experience. We've also been to your pga location which was probably supposed to be on par with this one and enjoyed that experience more. We ended up spending 400+ with drinks and add ons and we're still in and out in less than than an hour.“

“Some of the best sushi my girlfriend and I have had in Chicago. Never had a bad meal!“
“The dinner omakasa is great deal. There are in total of 18 dishes we had there including appetizer, soup and dessert. The chef is very efficient on making sushi rolls and the one made omakase for us was originally from sushi suite which is also another cool omakase restaurant. The omakase table can only serve 8 people max at a time. So each chef serves 4 people. The best from the menu we had are scallop and uni. Would recommend this place for others who want cheaper omakase.“

“Over the years, Indie Cafe has been amazingly kind and thoughtful in their service, and their food preparations and presentations always go above and beyond all of my expectations. From quadruple-checking whether or not a menu item is gluten-free, to recommending the best wine/sake pairings for an entrée, their staff have always ensured that I've left their restaurant knowing that I was appreciated as a customer. And welcomed as a friend. Maya is hands-down one of the most excellent servers I've had the pleasure of dining with. She always goes above and beyond with her level of professionalism and attention, and her personality is lovely as well! Given the quality of their sashimi, the creativity behind their menu, and the warmth in their hearts? I look forward to dining with them for many years to come.“

“Had a great time and also had room for dessert! The burger, Evie sauce, and fries were all really good, along with the shrimp sushi roll which was fried (first time trying it cooked that way). The tres leches cake that we had was topped with whipped cream and was phenomenal as well. Definitely was stuffed at the end of the night because of how good everything was!“

“As a Chicago native in pursuit of the city's finest sushi, Ora has solidified its place among my top three sushi destinations. What distinguishes Ora is its ability to deliver robust flavors without unnecessary complexity. While many restaurants opt to stay on trend, Ora excels in providing sushi that exceeds expectations in both in a wealth of flavors, presentation, and overall ambiance. Ora's menu showcases classic sushi rolls with essential proteins, each offering a unique and approachable twist on traditional favorites. Additionally, I highly recommend indulging in their mochi dessert—it's wonderfully flavorful without being overly rich or creamy, providing a delightful conclusion to the meal. The service at Ora is exceptional, whether dining with friends or alone. I highly recommend sitting at the sushi bar, where the service is prompt and the staff incredibly kind. On weekends, Ora adopts a chic, modern ambiance that complements the overall experience without overwhelming noise levels. For sushi aficionados seeking an exceptional dining experience in Chicago, Ora is a must-visit destination and neighbourhood gem.“

“I called ahead on a Tuesday for their dinner reservations, we were told they weren't busy that night so we went ahead and made the one hour drive just for their sushi and their great reviews. We had the best experience and their sushi was truly top notch. We basically ordered everything on the menu from sushi, caviar to desserts and drinks. they did not disappoint, customer service was superb. The owner even came outside to attend us, he showed up with his own bottle of sake. I truly appreciate the great experience we had at this beautiful and clean restaurant. I have nothing bad to say, the food was high quality and extremely delicious. I definitely recommend this location, even if you have kids which I did. We left so happy and satisfied, loved it.“
