“I had an engagement party for my Son and his fiancée. It was in the lawn next to our building on the lake in Chicago. A casually elegant setting. We had a lot of different food prepared professionally and I made salads, and we grilled steaks, burgers and chicken. Khmai was enlisted to do all the appetizers, some additional salads and various spreads and dips. I have Mai my approximate budget, let her know what I was preparing and planned to cook and asked her to do her best to come up with what she thought would be best as complimentary. She outdid herself. The staff is lovely to work with, helpful and genuine. My guests were blown away by the delicious and complex tastes we are not used to since most had never had Cambodian food prior. Fermented catfish dip? Wonderful, all the rolls veg or not were terrific, shrimp toast was my personal favorite, salads crisp, spicy and everything felt special and unique. Flavors so rich and vibrant felt like a special treat. It was perfect served with standard picnic fare a little elevated. The atmosphere of the party was pitch perfect, while retaining a quiet all American type picnic feel, the quality of both the food I had prepared and grilled, plus the array of flavors the appetizers added made it seem really special and definitely a treat and celebratory. It felt like someone really cared and tried to make it memorable and my guests were over the moon for this food. I would absolutely recommend dining there, we have a few times and it’s a family feeling you just can’t force or create without it being real. Thank you for your heart and talent to this wonderfully talented mother and daughter team!“

“We really enjoyed NoodleBird. Creative menu offerings. My partner really enjoyed the Wok Seared Pork Noodles. The texture of the rolled noodles was divine! My mistake for ordering one of the specials they had that day - Polish sausage with rice (not pictured) simply had too many flavors going on. Next time I’ll try one of their regular menu dishes. The egg tarts for dessert were simply delicious and I could eat an entire meal of just those!

“This was our first time doing an experience like this and it was wonderful. For the price, it was worth it, we were super full by the end of it. I guess we assumed a specialty cocktail would be included which we were anticipating, but overall we had a blast. The time it took for the food to arrive at our table was fast and fresh. “This is like an Asian Chipotle where you can make your own rice bowl. It's a gluten free restaurant for those with allergies or medical needs. The food is delicious and the staff were so friendly. Don't miss out on the miso which is tasty and comforting. Great spot for families, casual meals or pickup to take home! We will be back.“

“Really good ramen here! It's a small place and always busy, which says a lot about the food. The staff work very fast, although they aren't the friendliest, probably because they're always busy. The biggest downside is the wait. There isn't a waiting area, and customers have to stand outside in the hot weather. It would be much better if they had a waiting list or a call/text notification system so customers wouldn't have to wait outside. Despite that, the ramen is delicious, and I'd definitely come back.“

“As an Indonesian, I wish I could give this restaurant 6 out of 5 stars! Every single dish we tried was incredibly delicious and 100% authentic. Eating here made me genuinely happy, it truly felt like a taste of home.

The rendang and sambal ijo were absolutely perfect, it tasted just like what you'd find at a classic warung makan Padang in Indonesia, but arguably better because the meat is melt-in-your-mouth tender. The soto betawi was fantastic, and the sate ayam and sate betutu are absolute must-haves. Beyond the phenomenal food, the service is fast, incredibly friendly, and full of good vibes.

We drove 2½ hours from Michigan just to eat here, and it was worth every single mile. Everything was absolutely perfect! ❤️“

I couldn't decide between pad ke mao and panag curry, they had a panang wide noodle hybrid dish but it was more like thin panang soup Instead of A stir fry. I wouldn't order it again.

“I've been going here since it opened (along with my sister and our roommate), and the atmosphere is very nice and I think it's been a great addition to the neighborhood.

But recently I feel part of what made it great is gone. They cut out some of my favorite parts of the menu. The cucumber smoothie (yay something mild and delicate for those of us with a more sensitive pallet) and their sandwiches!!!! Which was the most unique part of their menu I felt that made it stand out from other Asian food joints nearby that also serve fried rice and noodle dishes.

But that's my opinion, I miss them.“

“When I was diagnosed with celiac disease, I thought I would never be able to eat at some of my favorite restaurants again. While this is true for most restaurants, it’s not true for YATAI. They are very knowledgeable about how to prepare their dishes in a safe, gluten free way without cross contamination, and it makes me feel safe and comfortable eating out again. If you call, they can tell you what they can make gluten free, and if you use the Uber Eats allergy function, they will let you know if anything you ordered can’t be made gluten free (but I recommend calling first). Their food is delicious, and I can say that with all of their considerations surrounding my dietary restrictions, they will have a regular customer for life!!“

Place looks and feels like your average dive/hole in the wall and it doesn't disappoint. I was weary because NOTHING is updated on Google, I thought the prices on their menu were 2010 prices or something but no, those are the right prices. No frills comfort food. Give em a try.“

The menu is written in English, Vietnamese, Thai 🙂‍↕️, and Chinese - love to see it! The Kung Pao Chicken is one of my favorites along with their Pork Fried Rice, but I have enjoyed many of their dishes - BBQ Pork Fried Rice, Egg Rolls, Pot Stickers, Beef Chop Suey on crispy chow mein noodles - all delicious. The servings are large - plenty to share or take home for tomorrow's lunch. All the staff are friendly and efficient, and you can eat in, pickup or order delivery. Try House of Wah Sun; you won't be disappointed.“
