“We tried shio and shoyu ramen, both were great based on your preference. I personally love beef broth ramen, which is rare to find in Chicago. Definitely would go back to try miso broth too. The soup was not too salty like most ramen shops, and the noodles were thin and still al dente, which is quite impressive. The portion size was perfect. I'm not a fan of the backless counter chairs. We went late afternoon on Saturday and the place was nearly full at an odd hour.“

“Absolutely loved our meal at Shang Noodles -- this place is a hidden gem that hits every mark for flavor, freshness, and authenticity. The service was friendly and attentive and the ambiance was modern and quaint.
We started with the scallion pancake, and it was perfectly crisp on the outside, tender and chewy inside. It paired beautifully with their dipping sauce, which added a savory depth without overpowering the pancake's delicate flavor.
The edamame was simple, lightly salted and steamed to perfection -- a refreshing, clean bite that prepped us well for the more indulgent dishes.
From the dim sum selection, the har gau and siu mai were both exquisite. The har gau had that ideal translucent skin with juicy shrimp inside, bursting with flavor. The siu mai were plump, meaty, and expertly seasoned -- no skimping on quality here.
We also couldn't resist the soup dumplings, which were small and not too soupy but had great flavor.
And don't sleep on the sauteed string beans -- they were crisp, blistered, and beautifully seasoned with garlic and a hint of spice. They somehow manage to be both a veggie side and a standout dish in their own right.
Altogether, Shang Noodles delivered a knockout meal that was thoughtfully prepared and full of bold, authentic flavors.“

“I really appreciate how clearly the vegan or vegetarian options are listed. They are able to make a few things vegan and a few things are already vegan. Their smoked tofu, although extra to add, is really good. Not bland and mushy like many omni places. They also have a happy hour 4-6 with a few vegan options! I got the chili peanut noodles with tofu and loved it. I also got the corn fritters to start, great just the dipping sauce isn’t vegan fyi.“

“hidden gem alert! admittedly in a super random location on the 7th floor of Macy’s, Tabo’s ramen was super flavorful and packed with quality ingredients.
I can’t believe this place doesn’t have a line out the door— both the chicken and mushroom ramen were delicious.
Vegetarian options: Mushroom ramen is really good
Wheelchair accessibility: elevator leads directly to food court on flat surface“

“I was taken back to my college days in China, eating lamb skewers and baked flat bread at a street food stall. This is high praise, since I remember the time fondly.
Cumin lamb skewers are pictured, and were delicious. The cumin lamb flatbread 孜然羊肉夹摸, was what really took me back. If in Chicago it’s a must try.“

“Has been a Thai spot staple in my household for YEARS. Grew up down the street from their Oak Park location, and currently live a stones throw away from their lakeview location. Never ever disappoints, love the staff and consistency in quality.“

“Delicious food, friendly staff and eclectic ambiance. So often, Thai places are too brightly lit and lacking in a cool vibe I guess? This place has low lighting and fun decor. I Ordered Pad See Ew with tofu, tempura shrimp maki roll and at $25 - they offered a choice of freebie - veggie egg roll was great. You can tell they use fresh ingredients. Excited to head back for a winter happy hour soon. Welcome to Rogers Park, Ezankaya!“

“This is the best Chinese food I ever had by a mile. Everything is quality and authentic. You will be happy you found this place once you do and will never order from other less quality places if you know what I mean. Quality Chinese food. Not easy to find.“

“Mike is hands down the best real estate agent in the greater Chicago area. Moved to the Chicago area blind with no prior information and Mike did an excellent job in helping me find my current home within 1-2 months of me moving here. Great detail in video tours as well for those who are out of state.“

“5 ⭐️ I am not a Ramen connoisseur by any means however I know what tastes good to me. I had the Chicken Paitan and it was delicious. Some of the qualities a creamy broth that was flavored wonderfully, veggies with a crunch, along with flavored protein pieces. Yummy. I will be back!“

“Hot tom yum soup was sooooo Spicy, it wasn’t eatable. I can do spice and eat spicy food everyday but this was ridiculous.
I only had the soup and and seaweed salad so can’t speak for the rest of the food but those two dishes were good, if I could actually eat the soup….“

“The lamb skewer was delicious, and so was the hand-stretched noodles with beef in hot & sour sauce. The marinated pork roujiamo was also yummy but the meat was a little dry. On the bright side, the chili oil was a good compliment to the meal and the food got out relatively fast after ordering. Overall, it's an another hole-in-a-wall restaurant in Chinatown that serves food other than the usual Cantonese food like many other places in the area.“

“I recently ordered takeout from Mei’s Chinese Restaurant in Chicago and loved the vegetable fried rice! It was so flavourful, and the crunchy bean sprouts were a great touch.
The next day, I went back for lunch, but the fried rice wasn’t available until 2pm. I tried the wonton noodles and spring rolls instead. The soup was a bit bland, but the wontons were delicious and generously portioned. The spring rolls were crispy, though the cold dipping sauce was a little unusual.
A nice bonus, there’s a discount for patrons staying at nearby hotels.“

“I picked up an order, I got home and noticed there was an item missing, and when I called, the manager (owner?) spoke to me and offered to drive it to my home after they closed up shop. I tried to tip the man who delivered it but he refused. He was very kind and thanked me for my business. Arguably the best customer service I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant.“

“I rolled in with a buddy and we dropped about $25 total. I went for the classic Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup ($8.50) —those wontons were plump and packed with flavor, swimming in a rich broth that hit the spot. My friend tackled the Beef Brisket Noodle Soup ($8.50) , and couldn't stop raving about how tender the meat was. We kicked things off with some Vegetarian Egg Rolls (3 pcs for $5.50) —crispy, golden, and gone in seconds. The spot's no-frills, but the service is quick and friendly, making it a solid go-to when you're in the mood for some hearty noodle action without breaking the bank.“

“Some of the best Thai food in the city. Our favorite dishes include their mooping, chive dumplings, satay, pad Thai, and all the curries. The curries aren’t overly sweet like I’ve tasted elsewhere, and their pad Thai has just the right amount of tamarind to make it legit. Thank you for high-quality Thai food, R Haaan.“

“I haven’t eaten inside the restaurant yet but we order take out almost weekly. We recently moved to the suburbs from Chicago and have been disappointed with the Thai places we’ve tried. We’ve finally found our go to place to order from! Food is always delivered still warm and fresh. You can choose your spice level and even the medium be quite spicy so order accordingly. We love this place and hope it stays around!“

“Ben’s is my go-to Thai restaraunt. I’ve ordered takeout from them loads of times and have always been happy. The portions are generous and I feel it is a good value for my money. My favorite is the chive dumplings (although they stick together so I wish they would package them differently). They also have a weekday lunch special that is a good deal.
I saw someone mention how they didnt like their food and had a problem with the to-go cups having a lot of ice in it. I believe they freeze the styrofoam cups with water so there is a cup-shaped large ice cube in their to go drinks. Simple solution is to ask for no ice :)
I’ve never dined in, but it is your standard small hole-in-the-wall Asian restaurant with just a few tables. No frills. Good food.“

“Servicers were among the best I've seen. They were so attentive, and they took special care of my friend who couldn't eat meat. Their sauce making station is very good and everything tastes so vibrant. We came in after a long and busy day, an hour before they closed, and they still allowed us to eat. They were very respectful. Better than any Minnesota hotpot place I've ever been to (I'm a Minnesota native). The fish balls were AMAZING. Absolutely one of the best blind picks we've had in Chicago so far.
Vegetarian options: They can change and edit the broth for vegetarians.“

“I live near the Chicago Marathon, and it’s rare to find a Chinese restaurant in a residential area. I have to say that the price is really cheap, and the portions are American-sized. Three people ordered a portion of fried rice, egg rolls, and a bowl of hot and sour soup, and there was more to take away. go back. There are also additional snacks, which together with the service fee are $26. It's a pity that I was too hungry and forgot to take pictures. It's really worth recommending.“

“Thank goodness this place exists. This is your classic Chinese-American take out joint and the food is simply delicious. We ordered two dinner specials and a crab rangoon app - generous portions, hot, fresh, and tasty. Specifically, there is an element of “wok hay” (a Cantonese phrase denoting smoky aroma and flavor) present in the cooking that makes it 5 stars for me.
Don’t expect any level of “service”; that’s not the point here. This is a mom and pop shop operated by weary food industry veterans. Just pick up your plate, quit yapping, and enjoy what you ordered because you won’t regret it.
Friend chiming in: Regarding the service, the woman is lovely. You get everything you need and neither more or less, perfect in my opinion.
Parking: Small parking lot but easy to navigate“

“If you’re craving some legit Thai food, Rice & Noodles should be on your list. The pad Thai is straight fire—tangy, flavorful, and the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The spicy basil chicken? Don’t sleep on it. It’s got the right amount of heat that’ll have you reaching for your water, but it’s so tasty you won’t mind. I spent around $30 for a generous serving of pad Thai and basil chicken, plus a refreshing Thai iced tea. The vibe is chill, and the service is always on point, which makes it a great spot for a quick dinner or a laid-back meal. Definitely coming back to try more items on the menu!"“
