“Blufish is a hit in our house, the go-to for sushi. What stands out? The fish-to-rice ratio—it’s just perfect, ensuring every bite is packed with fresh, delicious fish. We’re big fans of their nigiri and usually pick a roll or two to complete the meal. A must-try is the house salad with extra ginger sauce, big enough to share and a real standout. For two people, ordering nigiri, a roll, and the salad, the cost comes around thirty-five dollars per person, without drinks. This place is a gem for sushi lovers.“
“The whole staff is so friendly and I am a regular customer for N & C for Arlington heights to take my family there and regular customer for N & C in Glenview as I order food for company once in a month or so. The Manager Mike is awesome guy very helpful and courteous and I never had a wrong order from them- 5 stars from my side. Signode“
“I enjoyed a late lunch with Hen Banh Da (Clam Salad) and Mi Quang. Clam salad was everything I imagined it to be and mi quang was underwhelming — lacked flavor and yellow rice noodles were overcooked; I had to add more fish sauce for flavor.Attentive service. I will try this place again and order other offerings.“
“A long overdue review. Noodlebird is one of the best restaurants in Chicago. Every dish is full-flavored, bold, and made with thoughtful and creative pairings. The smoked tofu is incredible, the curry is my favorite, the peanut noodles are so soft and delicious, and the veggie Mac soup is one of my favorites. The bakery is also one of the best in the city. The creative desserts like mochi doughnuts, banana caramel brownie (my favorite brownie ever), the egg tarts (a must if you’ve never tried), the passion fruit Masada, and so many more are the perfect way to end the meal. The service is top notch, timely, super friendly, and warm.Noodlebird deserves any and all accolades for its super-creative dishes, friendly service, intensely flavored food, etc.“
“Very cozy asian-style noodle spot!I ordered a beef pad thai for lunch. The food was good, but it wasn’t until I added fish sauce and chili at home where all the flavors came out and molded together! I wish I asked for the condiments in-person. The beef was more on the hard side though, I wish it was softer. The portion was bigger than I expected but was the perfect size. I would love to come back and try other noodle dishes on the menu.In terms of service, I was greeted with smiles by the hostess doubling as a server as I walked in the door. Very attentive and very kind. She knows her customers very well. The food came out quick and I was able to get a good meal in while I was in-between classes. The music was great it contributed to the ambiance. I loved the fact that I could also hear the wok sizzling in the background as they were cooking.Parking: There’s a side street that’s not paid but it’s difficult to find parking. Sheffield is paid parking.“
“So glad we found this place. Landed in Chicago from Hawaii and was greeted by snow all day. Looking for comfort food, we found this place. Wonderful staff and I believe he was the owner, made us feel so welcome. The ramen was great and so was the Thai food. Highly recommend. Much aloha to the staff there. The flower girls!“
“We live very close by and were so excited to discover we have one of the tastiest Thai spots in the city within walking distance. Only give the atmosphere 4 stars because it's a teeny tiny restaurant but it's comfortable and when the weather is nice, their patio is cute! But we typically do takeout since it's so easy and close by. The owners and everyone who works there has always been friendly and kind. Highly recommend.Vegetarian options: Many dishes - noodles and curry - offer a selection for the type of protein so many can be made vegetarian with choosing the option of either tofu or just vegetables.Kid-friendliness: Friendly and allowing of children. My 3 year old daughter loves the chicken satay!“
“Ever since they opened we go out of our way to frequent this place. We have other Thai places within walking distance from our condo but a short drive yields better quality Thai food and wonderful service. Ambiance: The place is super clean which is a plus. If the front of the house is immaculate, I would think the kitchen is the same. The food is amazing. Tiger Cry is amazing and they give a nice size portion compared to other places. Sweet/savory marinated thin slices of beef char-grilled is wonderful. Don't hesitate on the fried shumai- Fried shrimp shu-mai, served with light sweet and sour sauce. Awesome finger food. You can't go wrong with any of the curry dishes. This last round we had the Gaeng Masaman - Masaman curry and potatoes sauteed in coconut milk with peanuts and chicken. Great flavor. So many selections but all have been great! I love the fact you can choose the level of spiciness for each dish depending on your preferences. We go full-tilt hot as hell spicy and it does not disappoint! Pricing is a bit lower than your average Thai places and portions are more generous. 3 dishes for 2 people yields leftovers! Owner is friendly and I can tell he loves what he does and is looking out for the diners. This is the place you want to make sure thrives. Go pay them a visit.“
“The people were so friendly, very talkative..it reminded me of how Greek families of old ran their own businesses. The food is amazing in look, style presentation and taste. Alot of selections and the first time I tried the coconut ice cream with strawberries my tongue was in love. Love this place.“
“If my childhood was a restaurant, it would be this place. Nothing like eating fried rice surrounded by baseball memorabilia and toys with Thomas the tank engine playing on the TV (I'm not joking, it was). Service was really good and the owner was incredibly friendly. Just remember that they take CASH only, but I think they have an ATM so it's no biggie.“
“Great hand made noodles, price was very reasonable for the dish I got, and the room was cute and well kept. It's not fancy fine dining, with all the extra fluff but it was a great place to pop in for dinner from the hotel I was staying at around the corner.“
“Atmosphere is quite interesting. I was in the indoor but it felf like we are sitting at outside lolWell in which we had good dinner time.Foods are overall good. My kiddos had 2nd dish after finished first bowl real quick.Tendon dish was super good with Soju but it’s very pricey.“
“We wandered in just cuz it looked cool and it knocked it out of the park. While we decided what to order they gave us samples of their chicken jalapeño lumpia and chatted with us. We got the mixed mini lumpia, pork skewers, BBQ Bulgogi Bao, crab lumpia and a coconut smoothie. All of it was so incredibly good. I can’t wait to go back - we’ll definitely dine in next time.“
“Hello to all who read this review. It pains my heart to leave this review. This restaurant use to be one of my favorites, but since the old owners are no longer running things I have to say that my recent visit was a waste of money. I ordered some soup and basil egg rolls and the egg rolls tasted like frozen food, the chicken inside of the rolls were very dry with no taste to it. I didn't taste the basil like I use to, I didn't finish it, I tossed it out. The soup was not like I'm accustomed to. Wasn't sour at all, wasn't spicy at all, and too many DAMN mushrooms in it!. I was furious and through all of it out. Stick a fork in me I'm done with Ben's noodles.“
“Absolutely amazing. I was blown away by the flavor. Like no other Thai food that I have experienced. Beyond 5 stars. I was spellbound. If you like Thai food, you need to give this place a try. It's a shame I don't live in Chicago, because I find myself daydreaming about it and wanting to fly across a quarter of the country JUST to eat here!“
“Just ordered take out,got it home, and opened it up. The first thing I noticed is that it is very lightly sauced. I mean very, but it packs a Whole lot of flavor. All of the ingredients where fresh. I mean, I wanted to drive back over there just to tell them how good the food was.“
“First time ordering and it was decent. The veggie egg roll were good but the sauce was thin and watery. The fried pot stickers were good. The paid Thai was what you would expect and the fried rice was good. I will try again and try other things too.“
“So far this is my favorite sushi place in Chicago. The food is phenomenal and reasonably priced. The service is fantastic as well. One small thing: every now and then I’ll get a plate with some very pretty artwork on it made from the sauce. I don’t always get it, but I really appreciate whoever is taking the time to make it!“
“New spot in the neighborhood! Restaurant’s decor is simple yet very roomy, an ideal spot for those who dislike to be enclosed or squished. It’s family owned restaurant so the atmosphere was very comfortably and quiet.Food was phenomenal, fresh and delicious! But most importantly reasonable priced. The service was friendly and fast. We had Pho and broth was rich and aromatic filled with lots of toppings. We also had Bo La Lot which was beautifully presented. Then we also had Bun Cha Ha Noi, amazing and authentic. Bun bo hue was delicious. I can say that all dishes taste great. It’s must try restaurant!“
“I hadn't eaten here since the revamp and rename of the place. Not sure if they're owned by new owners, but my friend and I were glad to have eaten here. It's small and could sit a small amount if folks plan to stay and eat, but lots of people order takeout. It seemed popular the night we went because there were many takeout orders. Everything was made to order, so be prepared to wait a little. The wait was well worth it! I had the panang chicken curry with rice, and my friend ordered the basil fried rice. Both were tasty and had the right amounts of flavor and spice. We also order gyoza soup and tom yum soup, which were perfect on a cold day. For drinks, I had the lemonade while my friend had the Thai iced tea. We ended dinner with mango sticky rice with a side drizzle of condense milk, and it was amazing! I highly recommend this place!“
“Don’t let the name fool you. This place is as authentic as anything you’ll find on Argyle. They have all the usual dishes but come here to try something less common. I had the crab rangoon and liked their homemade version of this typical guilty pleasure dish. Then I had Bún Riêu which was light and flavorful. It’s attached to a Filipino grocery and seafood store, and some other Filipino and Asian food stalls, restaurants, and bakeries so there’s lots to explore and taste.“
“Chef Son might just be the kindest, warmest, and loveliest human being on this planet. Dining here with his hospitality really just made the day brighter and sunnier. And of course, food he cooked was really good. Definitely coming back and recommending to all of my friends.“
“I've been going to Akai Hana since I was a little kid. It's the place I look forward to most in the North Shore area! The sushi is always fresh and the noodle dishes are exceptionally good. I love the spicy beef nabeyaki udon and cold udon especially. My sister and brother love the udon noodle soup. The service is always great here, and the restaurant is clean and pleasant. I love it and will continue to be a returning customer for as long as I can be!“
“Underrated Thai place in the North Side. Fantastic Coconut Chicken Curry. Best peanut sauce I've ever had anywhere! The one knock is though there is seating, it tends to be a takeout place and the atmosphere can be a bit stale. It is better in the summer when they can move chairs and tables outside.“
“So this place got the best Crab Rangoon in the city and that I ever had quite frankly. It taste so good and I’m mad other restaurants don’t make it like they do! The Crab Rangoon is so good from here that I never order anything else. I tried the wings and they weren’t bad. I’m curious how the shrimp fried rice is. But I’ve always just made this place my go to spot for Crab Rangoon. No other restaurant compares to how good it is. Please try them.“
“This is the best Noodles & Company I have been to because of the service! The staff is incredibly friendly and warm, especially Zach. It seems like he has regulars that he knows on a personal basis. I briefly interacted with Ron as well and he was also very nice.“
“Guaranteed to be the best Chinese restaurant in town. The owner is constantly buying fresh ingredients to insure the best quality.I've lived in China and this place definitely can have the authentic taste.Asian kitchen Express has vegan, and vegetarian options which a lot of other restaurants will not want to provide. Everything is made to orderVegetarian options: Veggies, tofu in every way you imagine“
“This place is absolutely delicious!! Had the Mentai Cream Sauce Udon and it was BOMB -- I loved it. At first glace, it looks basic but it is extremely flavorful and the garnishes (green onions, sprouts, cheese, tempura bits) added to the dish well. It was creamy but not too heavy. I would order extra udon next time to soak up the leftover sauce.“
“This place really goes out of their way to take care of their customers! I arrived 15 minutes after closing and the owner of the restaurant, Fawn, still let me order and personally took care of preparing my food. When trying to give her a tip, she wouldn't even accept it - solely to be nice. The menu and food are both amazing - all around wonderful experience. I wish more restaurant owners and staff were as caring as they are here.“
“Friendly service and omg this place got a variety Asian food stop and some of the stuff I don't even get back home in Maryland. Like who served beef soup with beef bone marrow in it was so full of flavor and the portion is so huge. Pho was excellent.“
“This place was clean, warm, and friendly. I ordered rare steak phó. No one seems to actually serve it rare anymore, though. I used to love it when the meat came to the table in a place raw and separate from the broth. Perhaps it's different in different places. The broth was bland, like it hadn't had a chance to simmer long enough for the spices to meld. It's a popular place, though. As I sat there, more and more families arrived to fill this place up. So maybe I'll give this place a try. There is nothing like finding YOUR Phó spot that you can rely on for *really - good - pho*. I'll be back to try again.“
“Hands down the best Chinese food in Chicago. I've been eating here and ordering take-out/delivery from them for over 20 years and have yet to have a single negative experience either dining in or ordering take-out or delivery. The dining area is clean, the staff is friendly, and the delivery drivers always show up promptly if you are within their acceptable delivery range. The food is absolutely phenomenal, and their eggrolls are without comparison. I've tried most of their menu, but I will always keep coming back to their orange peel chicken and combinations lo-mein. That plus 2 vegetable eggrolls and some oolong tea is quite literally heaven on earth. Keep up the great work, and I hope you continue to stay in business as I wish to continue eating the best Chinese food in all of Chicago for an additional 20 years.“
“Great staple for delicious and accessible Thai. Plenty of space if dining in, and good packaging if ordering delivery. My favorites are the Panang Curry, with the fried wide noodles, and and the Pad Woo Sen with BBQ pork. I've tried most of the menu and haven't had anything bad, just maybe something I did not particularly care for with my tastes.“
“I love PNS! I've been coming to this location for years and it always hits the spot. I am a big fan of the Vegetarian Bowl with tofu - it's light and healthy but delicious. I've also tried a few appetizers and I've enjoyed everything. I usually call in my orders and they're quick to fulfill and orders are easy to pick up. I hope this store never closes in Northfield!“
“An absolute gem! Siam's House Thai Restaurant offers an exceptional lunch buffet from 11AM-3PM for just $18.95 per person. The food is not only fresh but also made to order, providing a delightful array of flavors. The egg rolls, potstickers, papaya salad, Thai fried rice, drunken noodles, and spicy basil leaf dishes were all incredibly delicious. The option to choose between watermelon or oranges is a refreshing touch. Moreover, the opportunity to add $5 for unlimited curry is an outstanding deal. The value for the quality and quantity of food is unmatched. I highly recommend Siam's House for an outstanding dining experience! Great Vegetarian options! Can even ask for everything to be vegetarian too! Much better since the last set ups since they make everything fresh!!!“
“All around excellent. It is the once ubiquitous Chinese-American restaurant in its classic form. The clean interior is traditional diner booths lit with recessed incandescence under vents, in black weathered and repaired leatherine. Broad dark wood frames trim frame the walls with laquired village scapes float on facing walls. Two sets of dragons trot above either end of the dining room over comfortable midcentury chairs at the plastique table-clothed 4 tops. The fare was commensurate with the decor: fresh ingredients including the fried skin of the egg rolls with a hint of peanut butter. The seafood, poultry, and beef held their distinct character under the unifying Szechuan gravy. The flavors were clear and pleasant. The fried rice could have doubled as dessert for those with a taste for it. The mustard was vaporous and expansive and nothing was over-salted. A very familiar place not to be missed on atmosphere alone, it adds much to the experience. The waitstaff was a delight. The tiny bathroom a sanctuary. The ice water was superb.“
“Manooben is a gem of a Japanese spot, with its cozy house-like ambiance and welcoming atmosphere. I indulged in their scrumptious udon, which was delightfully light and not too overpowering, along with their crispy tempura. The experience was made even better by the kind and attentive service from the lady who took care of me. Highly recommend this place for a solo dining experience that feels like home.“
