50 Best Chicken Restaurants in Chicago

“Being from the suburbs traveling downtown can be an experience. This particular experience made our day. Moving our daughter into DePaul we came upon the owner of Red Light chicken who gave us a few pointers in parking near his establishment, after taking the time to help us find a spot he happily welcomed us with a free chicken sandwich which I’m happy to report was delicious. It was nice meeting you tonight and I’ll be certainly stopping by again - Fries are a game changer to!!!“

“Destiny may be the greatest customer service representative that Dave’s hot chicken has. Incredible job destiny. I hope I’m spelling your name right. She went above and beyond and before I came in she picked up the phone when I was calling to assure they’re open and she was extremely positive and nice. I am only going here being of how nice she was and she did and incredible job.“

“Maggie was so incredibly kind, and gave great customer service to everyone I saw there. I was lucky I only had to wait 20 minutes for the chicken as I did not call ahead because I was passing it on my way to pick up my parents from midway. It was all so incredible! We tried the Italian beef, chili dog, fries, chicken boat. Most impressive was that my drive home was over an hour and the chicken was still hot and crispy! Highly recommend calling ahead though for chicken but either way worth the wait! The rest of the food items come out impressively fast! I was there @5:20pm on Tuesday“

“Great Service, they were very relaxed and comfortable to be there unlike some places that have staff over worked and stressed always rushing. I got the half and half El Jefe is definitely my favorite Is not over seasoned and you can taste the chicken more naturally nut they're both great! Price is also very reasonable for the area!!!“

“We used to go to their old location all the time when we lived in the city, so we were excited to check out the new location now that we have kids—and it did not disappoint!

The fried chicken and biscuits were delicious, and the portions were huge. The kids’ play area with books, trucks, Connect 4 and more was an awesome surprise, plus the kids got fun crazy straws! It’s genuinely kid-friendly without sacrificing great food.

And the $2 beers with a meal were an unexpectedly awesome deal. Great food, great prices, and a perfect family spot. We’ll definitely be back! 🍗🍺“

“First thing I noticed is a service. Very accommodating and courteous. I got all wings and have no problem with that they were fresh and I love the sauce. Should have tried them without the sauce because it definitely didn't need it. Everything seemed to be fresh and cooked on the spot. Can't wait to try other things on the menu.“

“Sweet & Spicy Chicken Wrap, with mango & Lime sauce. Side order of Honey Sweet Potatoes.“

“A casual Korean fried chicken spot known for crispy, flavorful wings with a variety of sauces. The food is fresh and popular for takeout or quick dining. Very convenient, located near a train station—especially helpful for those without a car. We especially like the galbi boneless chicken and cheesy fries.“

“I ordered the spicy garlic chicken tenders and oh man were they delicious. The portion is large, definitely enough for 2. The tenders themselves are on the smaller side which makes for a perfect ratio of chicken to crisp to flavor. I also ordered curly fries which came out super hot and crispy. Those were delicious but the price was a little high.

The place is cute and comfortable, very clean. The service was great. The woman working the register and tables was super sweet.“

“Just stopped in today for the first time. The staff was very friendly and even gave my little one a free juice and goodie bag.

The food was fantastic and the lemonade is homemade and delicious. Reminded me of the one my mom made when I was a kid. Definitely worth eating at. I'll definitely be back again.“

“Great people. Great food. So far so good. I’ll definitely be back. The cook has good customer service skills and he seems to really care for people and his work. Everything in the kitchen area that you could see looks clean. Even the deep fryers are well kept. The perch was fried to perfection. Crunchy and still moist just how I like it. Fries were fried to perfection as well. Can’t make this stuff up. Thank you!!“

“We tried the Halal Chicken Burger at Byrd's Hot Chicken. The burger tasted good, but it wasn't particularly memorable or mouthwatering.

The burger came with fries, and they were the highlight of the meal. They were crispy, flavorful, and tasted really good. We would definitely order the fries again on our next visit.

Overall, it was a good experience. The burger was decent, but the fries were the standout item.“

“Truly an awesome surprise, decided to order on a whim and found the best chicken tenders I've ever had in my life, not exaggerating. Really happy I happen to live close to here. The two owners are very nice and friendly. Do yourself a favor and try Ciao Chow“
