“Being from the suburbs traveling downtown can be an experience. This particular experience made our day. Moving our daughter into DePaul we came upon the owner of Red Light chicken who gave us a few pointers in parking near his establishment, after taking the time to help us find a spot he happily welcomed us with a free chicken sandwich which I’m happy to report was delicious. It was nice meeting you tonight and I’ll be certainly stopping by again - Fries are a game changer to!!!“

We ordered through DoorDash, and when we called the restaurant, they were incredibly generous. “Great atomosphere cool concept like how they call out the alcohol and food orders when Ready. The pimento Mac was great flavor, as was the mashed and gravy. Very unique to have boneless breast thighs wing and leg portions battered and fried. Was very good. I just think the sauces were way to pricey at $1.45 a sauce wow even 99 cents seems a lot but would feel better lol. At least give one with the order or reduce the sauce price. But overall they need to spread this concept into more areas for sure out side like in the suburbs“

“Captain Hook’s Fish & Chicken is so good and always hits the spot. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and just flat-out better than anywhere else. They’re always open when I need them, and the taste is consistently amazing every time. I literally drive 30 minutes just to come here, and that should tell you everything. I have a Sharks Fish & Chicken near my house and it does not compare at all. Captain Hook’s is on a whole different level.“

“great spot for quick snack of crispy fried chicken & great sized boba. The chicken has a bit more batter but well seasoned & crunchy. They do order at the counter & touch screen orders. The process was seamless & we enjoyed the meal!“

“I came here initially because I got a sponsored instagram ad claiming that they have “the best grilled chicken in chicago”….a bold claim to make! I came in and tried it expecting nothing special and was absolutely blown away. I’ve been back 50+ times since.
I would recommend dining in if possible- heavily seasoned and marinated chicken hot off the grill with a beautiful char- it simply cannot be beat!“

“Alright now… let me tell y’all about Dave’s Hot Chicken the way it deserves to be told…

Baby, them chicken sliders? Lord have mercy.
Crispy, juicy, got that sauce drippin’ like it got somewhere important to be, and that little slaw sittin’ on top actin’ like it’s healthy or somethin’. I keep goin’ back like I owe them money.

Now I’m not new to spice, alright? I can handle heat. I looked that Reaper level dead in the eye like, “Do your worst.”
…and it did.

Ate it just fine. No tears. No shame. Felt like a champion.
Few hours later? My stomach said, “Oh, we fightin’ tonight.”
So just know… you might win the battle, but your insides gonna file a complaint later.

Now let’s talk about this situation they had the nerve to call:
“Large Top-Loaded Spicy Buffalo Mac.”

Let me tell you what I THOUGHT I was gettin’:
A big ol’ tray of creamy mac & cheese, chicken piled on top, cheesy, gooey, worth every penny.

What I GOT was…
a mountain of fries…
with a light dustin’ of mac & cheese like somebody sneezed cheddar in the general direction.

$15.99 for fries in a mac & cheese costume.
I felt lied to. Betrayed. Misled. Hoodwinked, even.

But look… I ain’t gonna stay mad.
Because them sliders? They got me in a toxic relationship I ain’t tryin’ to leave.

And when it comes to catering? Oh they SHOW UP.
Order them boxes for the staff and suddenly everybody actin’ like you Employee of the Year. Morale goes up, complaints go down — it’s basically HR-approved happiness.

Final verdict:
Go for the sliders. Respect the spice.
And don’t let that “top-loaded mac” fool you unless you in the mood for fries wearin’ a disguise.

The chicken is high quality and cooked fresh over an open fire.
Every order comes with warm pita. The sides are also great. They make the best homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw and delightful Spanish style rice. Their homemade salsa is delicious. All deserts are very good as well. Prices are great and the service or delivery are swift.

“First time at Nandos and was amazed by the service, first walked in and was treated like family. They took their time letting me know how the menu and chicken was. I have ordered the chicken ceaser salad which lived up to the chefs word- delicious, not too spicy but enough for the flavor give a hint. Will definitely be coming again for the food. Now the atmosphere was excellent- the color theme, the lights and seating are all unique which is hard to find in Chicago. They are all about the culture they serve. 10/10“
