“Being from the suburbs traveling downtown can be an experience. This particular experience made our day. Moving our daughter into DePaul we came upon the owner of Red Light chicken who gave us a few pointers in parking near his establishment, after taking the time to help us find a spot he happily welcomed us with a free chicken sandwich which I’m happy to report was delicious. It was nice meeting you tonight and I’ll be certainly stopping by again - Fries are a game changer to!!!“

“I've been wanting pancakes for the past month and finally went for some this morning. The pancakes were PHENOMENAL! My pancake jonesing was fulfilled by a more delicious pancake than I imagined was possible. They were huge and I could only eat one 🤤 The other reheated perfectly in the microwave - the texture was interior, but the taste was still fantastic. I've been before, but got other things. At this point, I can confidently recommend the breakfast sandwich, beignets, and pancakes. Oh, and get yourself an orange pop for breakfast... Be bad, treat yourself!“

“I finally tried CM after years of walking by it and it was fantastic. I walked in and ordered the Curry Chicken to go. Took about 10 minutes and I sat down at the bar for a beer while I waited. Service was great and will definitely be going back.“

“Captain Hook’s Fish & Chicken is so good and always hits the spot. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and just flat-out better than anywhere else. They’re always open when I need them, and the taste is consistently amazing every time. I literally drive 30 minutes just to come here, and that should tell you everything. I have a Sharks Fish & Chicken near my house and it does not compare at all. Captain Hook’s is on a whole different level.“

“great spot for quick snack of crispy fried chicken & great sized boba. The chicken has a bit more batter but well seasoned & crunchy. They do order at the counter & touch screen orders. The process was seamless & we enjoyed the meal!“

“Alright now… let me tell y’all about Dave’s Hot Chicken the way it deserves to be told…

Baby, them chicken sliders? Lord have mercy.
Crispy, juicy, got that sauce drippin’ like it got somewhere important to be, and that little slaw sittin’ on top actin’ like it’s healthy or somethin’. I keep goin’ back like I owe them money.

Now I’m not new to spice, alright? I can handle heat. I looked that Reaper level dead in the eye like, “Do your worst.”
…and it did.

Ate it just fine. No tears. No shame. Felt like a champion.
Few hours later? My stomach said, “Oh, we fightin’ tonight.”
So just know… you might win the battle, but your insides gonna file a complaint later.

Now let’s talk about this situation they had the nerve to call:
“Large Top-Loaded Spicy Buffalo Mac.”

Let me tell you what I THOUGHT I was gettin’:
A big ol’ tray of creamy mac & cheese, chicken piled on top, cheesy, gooey, worth every penny.

What I GOT was…
a mountain of fries…
with a light dustin’ of mac & cheese like somebody sneezed cheddar in the general direction.

$15.99 for fries in a mac & cheese costume.
I felt lied to. Betrayed. Misled. Hoodwinked, even.

But look… I ain’t gonna stay mad.
Because them sliders? They got me in a toxic relationship I ain’t tryin’ to leave.

And when it comes to catering? Oh they SHOW UP.
Order them boxes for the staff and suddenly everybody actin’ like you Employee of the Year. Morale goes up, complaints go down — it’s basically HR-approved happiness.

Final verdict:
Go for the sliders. Respect the spice.
And don’t let that “top-loaded mac” fool you unless you in the mood for fries wearin’ a disguise.

We love the whole jefe chicken and order with broccoli, Mac and cheese, and fries (the seasoning for the fries is awesome). Service is great and the music they play is always top tier. “Hands down punching the family and not just smacking your mama good chicken tenders that are juicy. Second, highly recommend the fantastic crinkle fries and Texas butter toast. Lastly, the sauces are out of this world 🌎 🌍“

“A tad obsessed!! My son loves guava smoothie, I love the coffee boba and street food. It’s hard to resist the fryer faves with the cold smoothie. My husband loves the iced tea, which like all the drinks, you can order with varying levels of sugar, or no sugar at all.“

“Hopefully they expand more but they’re in a crowded market. While I haven’t tried every chicken place - I recently tried the abysmal Raising Canes - this stuff is top tier. Really good chicken. They definitely lean more on their sandwiches and biscuits - but I think it’s noteworthy that their chicken is so much better than most of their direct competitors.“

“I have not been here in many many years. I used to frequent chicken hut often. The service is consistent and the staff most importantly is by far the best in energy! The Uniqueness about Chicken hut is the marinated chicken over night and then grilled and juicy. Comes with red twangy salsa. The potato salad and coleslaw is delicious which is extra. It deserves to be much larger. However it works as it is. I may stop there today!“

“The chicken bowls are amazing and a good value. Most of our party were able to take leftovers for the next day. The sauce choices are incredibly flavorful, you can't go wrong. Personally I liked the mild spice, lemon pepper chicken thighs. The server was very helpful and courteous. Overall, a great choice for a meal while in Chicago.“
