“Hi! So my take on Ume Tea. Out of all restaurants/tea shops I've went here in Chinatown this is my favorite place to go and relax. Pink is my favorite color and it's makes me feel at ease that this tea shop is colored all pink! They always play popular, good music here to listen. “Rejoice! The place for some great Chinese teas had arrived near you! Yes, it does share the fad with the Taiwan born boba drinks. But our eye was caught by the nice website with images of nice teacups and ambiance. Only 23 miles away from home we discovered that the trip in a hot and still pandemic day was totally worth it. In few words owner, Shaolong picked the teaist vibes in us and offered us a great real experience of sharing a favorite tea - he introduced us to the wonders of Zhang Ping Shui Xian (漳平水仙). Unlike the real "black tea", the Pu-erh, this one also comes in bricks, yet is a type of oolong with an amazing floral scent. We were honored with 4 different samples which we are currently slowly and thoroughly testing (3 pics). And yes, the fermentation levels are different - some definitely will give you a great oolong taste, but others are just a unique elixir on its own. But back to the house itself. I see and hope for great unrolling potential. This could become a place for tea lovers and teaists in training. Why not theme days, classes, shared experiences, a club? We would join. The 23 miles are a drive, but there isn't much of a real tea-drinking place in our Chicagoland (unlike smaller cities in North America like Portland and Montreal). However, Living Water Tea House is a great promise and it totally won our full support! Keep the cups warm!“

“I was recommended this restaurant by a Taiwanese coworker who claimed that it was pretty authentic. While I’m not a fan of bubble tea in general, I was drawn here by the promise of an authentic bowl of Taiwanese beef noodle soup.

Tonight we ordered the braised pork rice and drink combo, along with the signature beef and tendon noodle soup. The portions were good, and the ingredients seemed fresh. While both dishes were delicious, I wish the soup had been hotter. I also wish the braised pork rice had less pork fat, or ideally no pork fat at all, like the ones we tried in Taipei!

Also this isn’t a traditional sit-down restaurant. You have the option to self order at the walk up self-ordering machines, then pick up your food when it’s ready or the it will be delivered to your table using your name if you choose to dine in. The atmosphere wasn’t particularly relaxing in my opinion, with limited seating that can get crowded quickly.

I would come back to try some of the other dishes, but probably at a time when it’s less crowded.“

“Been stopping by this place since it was a pop-up in the Washington blue line, and they always have attentive service and such a wonderful creative selection of drinks. I am personally a fan of doing the discounted rotating daily special, not just for the aforementioned discount but because they also have exposed me to new combos, even though I generally stay in my comfort zone. all in all 9.5/10 experienc!!!“

“So came across this place on my walk and love boba tea so I stopped in. I got the chicken sandwich and fries for a great deal ($8) and I must say I’m very impressed. The sandwich taste fresh, I got less spicy spice level and the chicken is nice and juicy. The sandwich has some really good flavor. Not hard at all which I love cause I hate getting sandwiches with hard chicken. I paired with a spicy mayo.

Just earned a new customer. Love the indoor seating as well and they got free wifi!

“I come to this market pretty often and have noticed this milk tea shop many times, but I never tried it because it usually looked quiet and it’s tucked away in a corner, so it can be easy to miss.

Today, as usual, I stopped by and saw another customer inside, so I decided to give it a try even though I had already bought milk tea from the shop next door. And I’m so glad I did — I really liked it!

I personally prefer milk tea where the tea and milk flavors are well balanced, light, and natural, without being overly creamy or heavy from creamer powder. This was exactly my kind of milk tea: smooth, refreshing, and not too rich.

I definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a lighter, more natural tea-and-milk flavor. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more drinks!“

“Delicious boba tea! I had the Coconut milk tea with boba and my husband had the mango fruit with boba. This was our first time here! It was busy when we walked in with lines for those wanting to get there bubble / boba tea. There was a great menu of options to choose from and a nice sitting area to relax, and enjoy the drinks. Staff were quick and busy filling in the orders that were coming in. This is located in Chinatown near the Chinatown square. Great spot and delicious boba teas! “This is one of the best Boba shops in Roger's Park. When I'm in the area, I enjoy taking a walk over to get a drink here. TBaar has an extensive menu of drinks and food. I enjoy having lots of options and the ability to try something new each time I visit. The shop is beautiful and always clean. The employees are friendly and hard working. On this visit, I ordered the Brown Sugar Bubble Coffee. It was really good. I have ordered milk teas, green teas and lemonade from here, all which have been delicious. This place is definitely a must stop if you want a great drink while in Roger's Park!!“

“been here a few times, each is better experience that the last, attempt to try most of their items on menu. So far, my favorite is their Mango smoothies with cloud cheese, as drink. Their cloud cheese is really good and a balance of salty taste with the sweetness of the mango, the tapioca in the drinks is plentiful but not overpowering the water content. I had it in other Chinatown restaurants, some had too many tapiocas that my teeth were tired chewing them. Cuckoo is not. Their Don (Japanese rice bowls) and their bibimbap (Korean rice bowls) are excellent. Have not decide which is better because each have their own uniqueness and tastes; I had 2 types of their bibimbap before and only 1 type of their Don. So far, I am leaning towards the Don but there is excellent amount of veggie in their Bibimbap, which is ideal for weigh concise person. Wish they have a loyal customer rewards style of drinks incentives, much like some restaurants, for example, buy 9 and get 1 free drink, or some % off after 5 drink purchases, and give customers an advertisable nice pocket size reward card to keep track of their purchases. That may also work with food item purchases as well. Crossing my fingers that this may happen soon. With summer in Chicago, cool refreshing drinks is ideal and as loyal customers, return for more drink purchases with rewards will be even better.“

“The price is very reasonable for boba. It was a little over 6 dollars for a larger milk teak from here (after any taxes or fees). To me that is a very average boba price and is definitely a little cheaper than I expected from a vending machine! I quite like these because the teas are not too sweet and I can have it anytime. They are way higher quality than I'd expect from a vending machine. The boba is a good texture and everything tastes very fresh👍“

Love the variety here of mochi donuts, Korean corn dogs, and drinks! They have a rotating menu of specialty flavors every week for the donuts. I really enjoyed the yuzu refresher-esque drink I had! It wasn't too sweet,

“We stopped by for a little pick me up! I ordered a matcha milk tea. I didn’t like the red beans that came with it so I only drank half of it. My friend got a black fresh milk tea. There were so many options, it was hard to decide! The service was fast and it looks like they get pretty decent business there in the shopping mall.“

“Drinks and efficiency are 5/5. Best fruit tea in the area. It’s super cute with the couch and flowering tree, there’s some games, and good music. Accessibility is poor tho. I am using a temporary mobility aid, and there’s a couple inch step before the first door, plus no button to automatically open the doors. The path to the bathroom today was also very narrow due to lots of boxes, and I couldn’t get my wheelchair in (at least today). Seems like fixable things; add a small cement ramp by the door, clear the hallway, add a door button. :) I really do love this place overall and have even gotten a cute plushie keychain here too!“

“We had such a great experience at Autea Sweets & Eats. The food was really good, but what stood out to us the most was how kind the staff was. We bought a bunch of coins for the claw machine and were struggling so hard to win something. The lady working there was so nice and took the time to rearrange the stuffed animals for us so we could have a better chance. It was a small gesture, but it really made our night and we appreciated it so much.

“My sister loved her custom Miski birthday cake. The bakery made our vision come to life. Originally the cake was supposed to be Matcha Red bean chiffon cake but they were able to take our request for Matcha Strawberry. It ended up being an amazing cake and a cake worthy of everyone's praise for it's cuteness. We were all delighted by the fact that the mission itself was a cake (cake pop) which is great since we aren't a fan of fondants or extreme sugar bombs. The cake was a perfect balance of flavor and not overwhelmingly sweet! The baker definitely has an eye for controlling the level of sweetness!“
