“I adore this little spot! I’ve been coming here since I moved to the area and drag along anyone who will listen lol the food is unreal at decent prices for the quality and quantity! Their coffee is always delicious as well. The service is truly what keeps me coming back though! They are so sweet and always remember me when I stop in for some breakfast. They really make the entire experience for me personally. I am forever a fan of caribella!Vegetarian options: They are always willing to modify“
“Ravenswood Breakfast House is a cute and quite small breakfast and brunch place. Good coffee, great breakfast dishes. My favorite is their Basil Omelette, but everything I have had on their menu has been delicious! Service is fast and friendly. Remember, the dining area is small. Not a place for large groups, but a great breakfast place nonetheless.Kid-friendliness: From my observations, Ravenswood Breakfast House welcomes children of any age. This is a small restaurant with a small dining area, so it's not great for kids who like to get out of the chair and run around, but they are otherwise accommodating for families with kids.“
“My favorite crepes in Chicago! I come here 1-2 times a month even though it’s a bit far from me because I am ALWAYS craving this place. I’ve had a couple different lattes, with the Nutella being my favorite (they have dairy substitutions!) I always get the Nutella crepe with strawberries and bananas and it’s to die for. The place is also extremely cute, comfy, and gives off a welcoming environment. The staff seem passionate and are kind as well. As always i’ll be back!!!“
“The service here is great! The hostess is always so nice and the time to get seated is typically super fast for TWO!I love getting the Aztec coffee is legit a sweet coffee w/expresso.I honestly have only ordered the chilaquiles. Once with pollo and once with steak. My recommendation is pollo or neither. The steak is cecina from what I determined but for some reason they ask you if you want “NY Steak” or “Ribeye” if that is the case then it’s very very thinly sliced. Also have ordered the pancakes but I can’t remember which ones exactly. They were drenched in sugar like sprinkles, cajera, whip cream. Beware lol“
“The atmosphere is pretty cool. Sitting on a couch while you eat may be a bit odd for some but i thought it was a nice touch. The food was really good but not as hot as it should have been but that may be based on the slow service. The waiter was nice, but they may have been short staffed. It was pretty slow moving but the taste of the food totally made up for it. I would totally give it another try if ever in Chicago again.“
“We ordered take out. Our wait for delivery was an hour. The food was cold. We did not receive syrup, butter, napkins or silverware. One order was missing the grits. One order was missing the potatoes. The potatoes that were delivered were under cooked and the onions and peppers topping them are raw. For $70+ we expected better.“
“We swung in here looking for a quick brunch. We're so lucky we did! The service was awesome, and. Our waitress was incredibly helpful in guiding us through the choices, but the food was the best part! The whole family raved about everything - from the pancakes, to the Eggs Benedict, to the corn beef and hash, to the Avocado toast! If we were Chicago natives we'd definitely be here all the time.“
“Came in for breakfast and everything came out delicious. Our waitress Verica was very pleasant and made sure our waters and coffee were filled she also gave us a free sample waffle to try which was a nice gesture. We’ll be back soon! Ask for Verica!“
“An American style breakfast. It offers a wide variety of dishes where the egg in its different presentations is what stands out. There are combos and combinations that you can choose to try their eggs and traditional pancakes. The portions are generous so you won't leave hungry. The attention is very good and efficient.“
“Stopped in yesterday for the first of many visits. The service was warm and friendly. I ordered scones, doughnuts and Irish soda bread. My co-workers and I were blown away by how delicious everything tasted. Light and fresh baked good that kept people going back for seconds and thirds. Looking forward to trying their other items on the menu.“
“My family and I went today and the service was amazing! There was this friendly old man server who was so kind and always asked if we needed anything. He was super sweet and made sure we got everything we needed. The staff is so friendly and welcoming to everyone. The food portion is so worth the price as well! Definitely they don’t skip out on anything. I highly recommend having brunch here and will be back again with my family!“
“I had this place on my list of things to do for a while. Glad I went. I had the purple grits and they were definitely the star of the show! The portion was just enough but kinda pricey for size. The French toast flight was good but the taffy apple carmel had a slight weird taste compared to the other flavors. The mimosa flight was highly recommended but I advise otherwise. The flavors did not appear to be fresh juices, more like a syrup added to the champagne, which made it extremely sweet and left my teeth gritty from the sugar.I'd go again, just wouldn't get the mimosa flight.“
“Awesome affordable quick breakfast. I happened to order at a time where the kitchen had no other tickets, and this plate was served hot in just two minutes. $6 mimosas, too! Quick friendly service, cool decor, and noticeably spotless. Murals and brightly colored furniture all around, and great music playing. Do not miss this stop!“
“First time at the test kitchen, however have visited both south loop restaurants several times and have always been a fan!Went for Sunday brunch with our 3.5 year old, we ordered their special Redemption Avocado Toast, which is an adult entree, our 3.5 year old ate almost the entire thing and it was pretty large!Everything on the menu sounded awesome, I went with the sunrise burger and got fried pickles to shareWife got the Hexe Old Fashioned which was awesome and creative“
“What a fun little spot! Restaurant layout/dining area is a little awkward - we only noticed this when a couple with a giant (expensive) stroller came in. Menu was ample! Lots of choices all with an interesting flair. Drink as well as food specials. My husband and I both ordered an Irish Espresso (see pic below). The beverage was cold (probably because there was like 8oz of whipped cream on top). It was strong and good...just cold. Maybe offer in a smaller mug?My husband had thr frittata (which was beautifully plated - he refused to let me take a picture of it because he was hungry). I had the chilaquiles - also delicious. Service was good. Everyone seemed very kind. Would definitely come here again!“
“Azul 18, not to be confused with Azul Mariscos is a great brunch spot in the Pilsen area. I visited on a Sunday morning, and there was plenty of street parking available. The restaurant has about 30 tables, but some of the table spacing is pretty tight, so if you have big hips like me, you'll be comfy seating on the bench seats, but squeeze your body in between the tables and be careful not to hit the patron sitting next to you!The menu has some classic items like waffles and pancakes, but their Mexican entrees are tasteful. Everything was good and I would definitely go back! We tried the following:Orange Strawberry Kiwi JuiceMexican Beignets with Raspberry Jam and NutellaMexican Omelette with Refried BeansShort Stack of PancakesChilaquiles with Braised Short Ribs, Eggs, Guacamole, Sour Cream, Pico de Gallo, Queso and Hominy“
“Delicious food! I ordered the chilaquilles and they were amazing! Coffee was great! Fresh juice was also so good! I highly recommend the strawberry orange juice! Fantastic service as well. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the city.“
“Small and cute place. Not much interaction with the server, but I prefer it that way. I got the Ube Flapjack and was pleasantly surprised as I wasn't sure what to expect. I'd describe the taste as similar to Taro, but sweeter. Unsure what the bacon was glazed with but it tasted AMAZING. The Purple haze had iced coffee with ube at the bottom. The flavors work well and I liked the taste. My girlfriend had the Spiced Maple Chicken and enjoyed it as well!“
“A fairly nice breakfast cafe with ample seating. Food is reasonably priced with ample portions, pancakes have a lot of added vanilla but I think that helped them stand out and be a bit tastier.Self branded hot sauce at the table is a nice touch and the habenero stuff was very flavorful.Comparing to the other options around wicker/ bucktown, I wouldn't put it on top, but it's a solid pick, if you're out early.“
“There are so many choices on the menu that you'll definitely find something for you! I got the waffles Benedict, which came with roasted potatoes and pulled pork. The eggs were very runny which I loved, and the chives added a unique touch to the dish. The liege waffles were also unique, not too sweet but a little soggy from the Hollandaise sauce. I also got a coffee, which was a bit watery for my taste. Service was great, and our food came out instantly. The restaurant was also very clean.“
“This was our favorite restaurant for breakfast in Chicago. We went to Chicago for vacay last January and we had a really good experience here. Also, our waitress was amazing (we speak Spanish so it is very helpful that some of their coworkers speak spanish). The food is really good. I would “
“Literally the best breakfast I’ve ever been, very affordable, comfortable, great service, the only suggestion I have is expanding the menu, overall I will give this an A-Parking: Free parking on the side streetKid-friendliness: Kids menu available, coloring paper and crayon available.“
“Great neighborhood spot for breakfast. Chilaquiles were very good. The skillet was tasty, served piping hot and was filling. Yolk makes great cheesy grits. Waitress was attentive despite having multiple large tables. We found on-street parking which can sometimes be a challenge.“
“There were so many people that there was a wait of about 40 minutes!I ate on the patio when the weather was nice, the atmosphere was quite nice and the servers were friendly. There are so many pancakes that it's hard to eat them all by yourself! Although there was a lot of food, it was delicious and warm, so I was able to eat a lot without getting tired of it.I ordered a pineapple drink and it was quite short!I am satisfied overall and would like to visit again next time “
