“Popped into Toby's this evening. My first bar on my first visit to the USA, and boy did I pick a good one. The service was excellent, Janet and Ashley were extremely welcoming. The vibe was relaxed and the regular clientele all seemed friendly too. Drinks were very reasonably priced. I hope to visit again very soon!”

You pay what you get and it’s worth every penny. Keep up the great work Alexander’s!! “My Fiancé and I discovered this restaurant after watching “Somebody Feed Fill” and were inspired and intrigued by Sarah’s restaurant and craftsmanship. We had our eye on getting reservations here for a very long time and we ended up landing lunch reservations for my Fiancés birthday (whom is also a Chef). We just happened to be seated by the expo line near the kitchen where we saw Sarah working. From start to finish our server Rose, and Sarah made sure our experience was personalized special. Sarah even signed the cookbook we bought and menu! Everything was on point from the food to the service. I can see why it’s so hard to get a reservation here! If we could rate our experience higher we would. We greatly appreciate the hospitality and dedication that this restaurant displays!”

“Absolute dominance from a restaurant that is less than a month old. You thought you've had it all, that Chicago couldn't possibly have yet ANOTHER banger in Wicker Park, but i'll be damned, here we are. The cracklin' shrimp is so well done, I would eat a bowl of it. Lemony, spicy, deep fried deliciousness. The half chicken was among the best I've ever had (whatever that green sauce was, was KILLING IT) not to mention my wife's elote lasagna?!?! I can't wait to go back. THE MANAGER EVEN SMELLED GREAT. Victory!”

“my best friend and I just had the BEST experience at the whale! Our waitress taylor was incredible and the manager (so sorry but we never got his name because he was just being so nice to us) was incredible as well. We will definitely return with friends and recommend anyone to try it out! classy, but not snobby, cool decor, warm kind and accommodating staff, and great food and cocktails are just the cherry on top! try the carrot cake after your meal :) Thank you again to taylor and the manager again <3”

Each piece had its own explanation, and there was give-and-take with the chef as he prepared each course. “The chicken and empanadas were really good! The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and everything we tried was delicious. The only downside was the seating. The second floor feels like a completely different restaurant—it was very dark and didn't have the same atmosphere as downstairs. If possible, I would recommend asking to be seated on the first floor. We were visiting the area, so it was a shame to be seated upstairs and miss out on the nicer atmosphere. Overall, the food was great, but the seating definitely affected our experience.”

For example I absolutely hate bananas but they served a banana desert that was delicious, I ate every bite. I would def recommend this place for anyone looking for a delicious tasting menu.
