“Popped into Toby's this evening. My first bar on my first visit to the USA, and boy did I pick a good one. The service was excellent, Janet and Ashley were extremely welcoming. The vibe was relaxed and the regular clientele all seemed friendly too. Drinks were very reasonably priced. I hope to visit again very soon!”

“I just recently started going there since last year. No negative reviews here. Every single experience has been great alongside with the food. When it’s your birthday, the staff sings to you. You pay what you get and it’s worth every penny. Keep up the great work Alexander’s!! “My Fiancé and I discovered this restaurant after watching “Somebody Feed Fill” and were inspired and intrigued by Sarah’s restaurant and craftsmanship. We had our eye on getting reservations here for a very long time and we ended up landing lunch reservations for my Fiancés birthday (whom is also a Chef). We just happened to be seated by the expo line near the kitchen where we saw Sarah working. From start to finish our server Rose, and Sarah made sure our experience was personalized special. Sarah even signed the cookbook we bought and menu! Everything was on point from the food to the service. I can see why it’s so hard to get a reservation here! If we could rate our experience higher we would. We greatly appreciate the hospitality and dedication that this restaurant displays!”

“Absolute dominance from a restaurant that is less than a month old. You thought you've had it all, that Chicago couldn't possibly have yet ANOTHER banger in Wicker Park, but i'll be damned, here we are. The cracklin' shrimp is so well done, I would eat a bowl of it. Lemony, spicy, deep fried deliciousness. The half chicken was among the best I've ever had (whatever that green sauce was, was KILLING IT) not to mention my wife's elote lasagna?!?! I can't wait to go back. THE MANAGER EVEN SMELLED GREAT. Victory!”

“What an incredible experience doing a tour with our guide, Chris. I reached out ahead of time because one of our guests had a special connection to the Bourbon County Stouts and he made sure to completely personalize the tour in that regard. Not only did he go out of his way for us, he also was just an incredible tour guide. The wealth of knowledge and ability to captivate the audience was second to none. This was such a lovely experience and I truly believe if you’re visiting or live here (we have for 3+ years), this tour is a must!”

Our waitress taylor was incredible and the manager (so sorry but we never got his name because he was just being so nice to us) was incredible as well. “We celebrated my daughter’s 8th grade graduation and it was her first Omakase experience. The chef was clearly very dedicated, not only to his craft and Chef Otto, but to making sure each guest had an incredible time. The food was delicious and the experience was wonderful”

“A shout out for Ever in the latest season of The Bear prompted me to come back and write this review. My partner and I came here a year ago from the UK whilst in Chicago for a friend's wedding, which also coincided with my partner's 30th birthday.

It was unbelievably special. From the moment we walked in there it was an experience. It started with eating a deep fried lychee off the ceiling, and ended with being taken through a coat cupboard and into a secret passageway ending up in After, the sister bar. The food was, as expected, outstanding. I had an asparagus dish so good it has ruined all other asparagus for me for life. Each course was creative, unique, and like nothing I've had before. We were amazingly looked after - when we spoke to our waiter about how far we'd come, she arranged for a kitchen tour. A signed personalised menu was given to us with a happy birthday message on it, and a take on a chocolate cake was brought out with a candle (in addition to the 2 other desert courses!). Of course it does not come cheap, but the sense of occasion made it all worth it - they know this is something their guests to do not do regularly, and they make sure every tiny detail is one to remember.

We still talk about this dinner all the time.”
